Chapter 44: The Jade Box

Ren gets up and Yi Tai followed him curiously, Ren just blinks at the sight in front of him as The Former Master of Universe strolled down on the pathway to his hut in his majestic velvet robe the last time he saw him was at the war of the Silver River and then a few times on important meeting but never he come down strolling here, it's always urgent and the matter of safety of the universe. The man was still the same but then he ever changed. He still walks with the square shoulder, chin hight and with the iron in his spine. Indifferent expression and those dark black eyes using the surrounding with coldness. The First Lord Dong Hai was constant and yet unpredictable personality. He never came to his hut and yet he knows where it is.

"Have you lost your way?" Ren mocked with a teasing smile.

Dong Hai met Ren's eyes, the corner of his lips stretched a little.

"It depends, is this your hut?" Dong Hai raised his one brow, choaking his head to the one side

"Yes, Your Lordship, this is indeed my humble abode," Ren just bend his neck in a small bow.

"Well then, it seems not," Dong Hai materialise a square shape white jade box from his sleeves and extended it to Ren.

Ren looks at the box, it turns out he comes here to give him something. Dong Hai doesn't lift a finger if it, not the matter of safety of all the realms. What kind of thing did he come to give him? He is retired and he is not interested in giving anything to realms anymore.

"What is it?" Ren asked.

Dong Hai just silently indicate him to take it from his eyes, Ren sigh though their relationship can be considered of brotherhood, he is still the First Lord and he can't refuse. Ren took it unwillingly.

"I am telling Dong Hai if you are giving something to take care for the realms I won't take it or this is some kind of weapon I am not going to take it, it's you who refuse to go on complete retirement why do you have to always come and ruin mine?"

Dong Hai just turn to look around as Ren unboxed it, the peach blossom tree, the peach petals flow with the waves of wind and end up over the stream that was just in the front of the hut, many petals fall down kissing the floor of the small wooden bridge that he just walks over, the earth was wearing the blanket of the same colour, the sweat scent teased the air and the trees stand up high and close to each other. He was looking at beautiful scenery with the cool.

Ren's eyes widen a little as he saw what was inside, just make sure it is what he thinks it is...he smells the contents of the blue and white pouch. the blur pouch content the root of red fairy fruit nad the white the...Yellow Algae.

"How did you...? Did you kill the pythons?" Ren asked.

"Do I look like I killed the pythons?" Dong Hai look at him.

"Then how? Even I didn't dare to go to that awful place," Ren said.

"They are cultivation leeching beast,"

Ren thought over it, he went to the forbidden land and fight those pythons enough tp come back with this for Hong Liu? He knows his cultivation was unmatchable but everything has its limit, he healed Hong Liu twice in a near-death situation and he let those pythons leech on his cultivation, yet he was standing like nothing had happened. Yi Tai rested her chin on her palm leaning over the railing observing all of this from the porch of her house. She only once comes face to face with the Former Master of the universe, his persona always repels her. She was not even interested in meeting the cold old rock.

"You did all this for Hong Liu? I was wondering, how she did get injured?" Ren asked.

"I will leave you to ask her that, I bid you farewell," Dong Hai turn and disappeared in blue rays before Ren could even react.

"Why didn't he answer how Xiao Liu got injured? She was in his care, wasn't she?" Yi Tai huffed as Ren stepped to their porch.

Ren was still looking inside the Jade box in a trance.

"Ren! Ren! stop looking at the box like its treasure and answer me!"

Ren look at Ti Yai annoyed face and chuckled.

"It is the treasure but enough to cure Xiao Liu," He said

"What do you mean?" She asked.

"It means, it is not of consequences why he didn't answer, but what is most peculiar thing is that he went with all of this trouble just to deliver it here, how strange?"

They sat inside, while Ren started to brew the medicine.

"What do you mean?" She asked.

"Nothing, even I don't know How to interpret it,"

"One glance at that old Rock and you started to talk like him in circles," Ren chuckled at her statement as he prepares the medicine.

Yi Tai looks down at the ingredients, the blue pouch had a what looks like ordinary brown roots.

"Are you sure it is what you need for Xiao Liu? Or the First Lord tricked you, It looks like an ordinary root to me," Yi Tai look him at him sceptically look.

Ren took the root from her hand and tore at the tip of the root and he extends for her to taste, she hesitantly took it hesitantly on her tongue and then flinched at the burning blast in her mouth.

"Lord! What is this?!"

"Its spicy isn't it? Then it is what I need," Ren chuckled. Yi Tai sat back leaning on the table with a pout.

There was jar as well in it, she opens it looking down at it. The scent of sweet honey reached her and almost intoxicated her.

"Why there is honey here? And it is from Kulun Mountain, the sweetest honey in all the realms!" Yi Tai exclaimed.

"Algae is going to bitter," Ren said, but then there was no need for it. Is Dong Hai was being thoughtful? It's all becoming curious, what did happen the Ocean of Bliss palace while Xiao Liu was there.

Yi Tai's eyes a small blue jade bottle, there were eight of it. She picked one and open it, it was something like red thick liquid and something gold was swirling over it, as she looks inside it with narrowed eyes.

"What is this?" Yi Tai asked as sense a metallic scent. Ren was too busy putting the yellow Algae in the pot that he didn't saw those eight blue bottles. As he saw it in her hand.

"Let me see," He took it from her and then look at it, Ren doesn't how to feel seeing what it is? It true this the second most wanted element of medicine he wanted since he learned the properties of this but, he never thought he will see this day. Why did Dong Hai give this? Few drops of this and it can cure any poison, heal almost any wound and recover thousand years worth of cultivation.
