Normal Day in Chaldea

( 3rd POV )

"Ah, you're awake!"

As soon as Mash entered the room, her face lit up with surprise and relief. The person Hassan had brought back was indeed awake, sitting up in bed, her eyes wide with bewilderment as she looked at Mash.

The girl who had just awoken from her ordeal was equally startled to see Mash. "Good morning," Mash began, her tone gentle and apologetic. "I'm sorry if I disturbed your rest and for coming in without knocking first. I thought you would still be unconscious." She carefully placed the tray of food she was holding on the desk beside the bed.

"How are you feeling?" she asked, her voice softening further with genuine concern.

The girl flinched as Mash approached, her eyes widening with fear. "No! D-don't touch me!" she cried out, frantically dragging herself to the edge of the bed, her body trembling with panic.

Mash froze, her expression one of shock and confusion. For a moment, she feared she had frightened the girl before she remembered the details from the report. "It's okay, it's okay," Mash said soothingly, raising her hands in a gesture of peace. "I'm not going to hurt you. I'm not with the same group as the people who kidnapped you. You're safe now. My group and I rescued you from them."

She pointed to the bracelet on the girl's right arm. "You don't need to worry about your powers hurting anyone. That bracelet is helping to seal your power for now."

The girl's eyes flickered with suspicion as she glanced at her arm, then back at Mash. She remained wary, her body tense, but she was no longer on the verge of fleeing. "Who are you?" she asked, her voice laced with caution.

Mash offered a reassuring smile. "My name is Mash Kyrielight. Welcome to Chaldea."

The girl who just asked the question is stunned before she tilted her head with a confused expression written on her face.

"C-Chal- What...?"

.....

( Ken POV )

'Ah... Nothing better than lazing around after a battle.'

I thought to myself as I lay on the recliner chair in the garden, soaking in the warm sunlight.

Boom!

"Hah! If the power of the Pendragon princess is only like this, then I'm very disappointed."

"Damn it, what do you know!? It's just a warm-up and stop calling me princess!"

The voices of the two women arguing could be heard not far from my position. Ushiwakamaru and Mordred were currently quarreling with each other on the lawn, their weapons colliding. Of course, they weren't serious, but their clash still sent shockwaves in my direction. After our last breakfast, Ushiwakamaru seemed eager to teach Mordred a lesson.

'Let them vent their emotions. Well, it's better for me not to get involved in women's matters...'

I glanced to my other side and saw the white mascot of Chaldea also enjoying the show in her garden recliner chair while occasionally licking her fur.

'Tsk tsk tsk, this guy is living a chic life. Anyways, let's see the last reward I got from last time.'

[ Missions

Special Missions:

1. Stop Magneto and his Brotherhood's sudden attack in New York City / Complete (1× Five Star Servant guarantee ticket, 3× Saint Quartz, 100.000 Quantum Piece) ]

'Now I understand what special missions from the system mean; it's about the plot all along...'

I looked at the FGO system thoughtfully. It was also one of the many reasons I chose to intervene that night, because the reward was tempting. Ignoring the SQ and QP for now, with the servant guarantee ticket alone, I could choose to summon any five-star servant I wanted next time.

Compared to gacha and the limited SQ I had, this ticket could come in handy if I used it at the right time. Summoning Mordred last time was purely luck; thank goodness it wasn't Mozart who came.

'No more gambling for a while, hahaha.'

While enjoying the feeling of being free from the unreliable gacha, I also started to think about our next plan. The internet was still going crazy about us, which I thought was a good thing because while my servants and I attracted the spotlight and recruited people, Olga and Sion could quietly set up the company.

'But in this way, they couldn't be seen with us then. The Chaldea group needs to divide into two directions....'

Boom! Boom!

The shockwaves from the two women's battle woke me from my reverie. "You are too slow, Princess," Ushiwakamaru teased the already angered lioness. Relying on her A++ agility and her Tengu art of war to conjure several clones, Ushiwakamaru managed to gain a slight upper hand and annoyed Mordred.

"Your fighting style is so annoying!" Mordred said while busy defending herself with her Clarent from Ushiwakamaru's several clone attacks. The clones kept harassing Mordred from different directions with their speed and fighting style, making her passively defend.

'Hmm, Mordred is indeed stronger in stats compared to Ushiwaka, but Ushiwakamaru's speed and fighting style are much more comprehensive. This shows the difference between Eastern and Western warriors...and I'm not talking about mommy Scathach.'

As I was busy enjoying the show between the two of them, Mordred finally couldn't hold it anymore. She blew up, literally. She activated her mana burst, and crimson thunder started to dance around her armor and sword. It also pushed all of Ushiwakamaru's clones away for a few meters.

"Fuck, I've had enough! It's time to get serious, and I'll beat you up!" Mordred said, raising her Clarent and adding more power to her mana burst. Ushiwakamaru also started to prepare her NP to get serious. "Bring it on, Princess," she replied with a grin.

'Oh shit...'

Noticing the bad situation, just as I was about to stop their sparring and enter the shura field as a mediator, one of the mansion windows on the second floor suddenly opened, and a familiar white-haired figure popped out with an irritated look on her face. The next second, a familiar roar full of frustration could be heard throughout the garden and mansion.

"I'VE TOLD YOU TO STOP USING THE FUCKING NOBLE PHANTASMS AND MANA BURSTS AROUND THE MANSION!!!" Olga roared.

The roar startled both culprits, causing them to unconsciously stop their actions, but Olga wasn't quite finished with them yet.

"This is not a fucking singularity where you can flaunt all of your noble phantasms, damn it. We are on the outskirts of New York! If you want to practice and show off your power, go back to Chaldea HQ instead. Your blatant actions will destroy our bounded field," Olga said in a single breath.

"Tch."

"Hmph."

After finishing her rambling and rebuking, both Mordred and Ushiwakamaru stopped their actions and canceled their battle forms. They understood that if they kept going, they would jeopardize their location to the outside world.

Both of them turned back, wearing their casual outfits before heading straight toward me with sulking faces. Seeing their sour mood, I could only flash a wry smile. Now it was up to me to console both of them. I hoped Da Vinci and Waver's mission was going smoothly this time and would help calm Olga down.

'Sigh, just another normal day in Chaldea...'

.....

( 3rd POV )

The same time after the usual event at Chaldea mansion, in the heart of New York City, where the bustling streets hummed with life, stood the old brick façade of St. Agnes Orphanage. Its windows, though slightly grimy, allowed slivers of sunlight to pierce through, casting warm rectangles on the polished wooden floors of the common room. The scent of freshly baked cookies wafted from the kitchen, a comforting aroma that seemed to embrace anyone who stepped inside.

Leonardo Da Vinci with her vibrant blue eyes wide surveyed the surrounding with curiosity. Waver Velvet, also known Lord El-Melloi II, followed close behind. His stern expression softened as he observed the children playing chess, their laughter echoing off the high ceilings. His scholarly demeanor clashed with the orphanage's cheerful chaos, but he was no stranger to such environments. Fate had thrust him into battles far more perilous than this.

Both of them had arrived with purpose, they mission are clear: to find the one of the people in their recruitment list. After entering one of the rooms, the orphanage dean, Mrs. Evelyn Thompson, greeted them with a warm smile. Her graying hair was pulled back in a neat bun, and her spectacles perched on the bridge of her nose.

"Welcome, Mr. and Mrs. Cinvi. I heard the news, thank you for considering adoption," Mrs. Thompson kindly said. "The girl you chose is remarkable. Even though she is a bit introverted, her skills with tinkering with computers are unmatched," she continued as they walked.

"Indeed, she is. We've been entangled with a medical issue, so we couldn't even have a child. I just hope she can accept our adoption," Da Vinci immediately began her act, trying to look sad and melancholy while talking about children.

Seeing Da Vinci's womanly act, Waver beside her suddenly felt goosebumps before he adjusted his glasses, trying to calm down. "Have some faith, d-dear," he stuttered in the end. his attempt at playing the concerned husband almost making him cringe.

"Mr. Cinvi is right, miss. We also already notified her about today's adoption. She didn't disagree this time, so there's still hope. Let me take you to meet her," Mrs. Thompson smiled reassuringly while leading them down a narrow corridor. The walls were adorned with children's artwork, and the scent of lemon polish clung to the air. They reached the basement door, its hinges creaking as Mrs. Thompson pushed it open.

The Chaldea fake couple followed closely behind her. At this moment, a sudden transmission echoed inside Waver's mind.

'Really? Dear?' Da Vinci's voice, full of teasing and mockery, could be heard.

Waver suppressed a groan. 'Oh god, let this act end quickly...' he thought, yearning for the end of this charade. Instead of replying, he focused on maintaining his composure, wishing he could escape this cringe-worthy situation.

He wondered why he even took this mission and why they had to stage such an embarrassing act. The whole scenario felt surreal and absurd. Waver Velvet, usually composed and strategic, found himself doubting his life at the moment.
