The offer

"I have an offer for you" Adriana heard the woman suddenly say to have her eyes narrowed down at her wondering what offer she could possibly have for her.

She only nodded, gesturing for her to continue and she saw the woman hesitant for a bit but she continued anyway. "How would you like to be my son's personal assistant?" Mrs Taylor blurted out and Adriana almost laughed.

"Why would I ever want to be your son's personal assistant?" Adriana said In a disgusted tone. It was ridiculous to her that she would think she could ever agree to be someone's personal maid. Mrs Taylor looked quite taken aback by the response as she had guessed she would quickly jump at the offer. Any normal person in her position would. She didn't have any money to take care of herself and she was basically living in the slums, hearing such a thing should come as a joyous thing.

"Are you sure? Think about it well. Your pay will be high and you will finally be able to pay for your medical bills and also I will pay for the medications for this month. You won't be subjected to much work knowing the condition you are in. Shouldn't you give it a trial?" Mrs Taylor said not knowing why she had even bothered to explain to the girl the benefits she was just about to throw out the window.

Adriana wasn't listening to nothing as she scoffed at the woman's words. "I don't need your pity" Adriana said forgetting how bad she needed treatments and without money there was no treatment. She was only focused on the fact that someone had actually dared to tell her to work as someone's personal assistant which was basically being a maid!! She would not do it. Not in this lifetime, nor ever.

"I think I am fine there's no need for you to be here anymore or otherwise I think I should get discharged now" Adriana said coldly as if it was not the woman that had helped her here. 

Mrs Taylor looked too stunned to speak right now as she kept wondering if she had said something bad or offensive but going over her words again she had said nothing to offend the girl as she was only trying to help. "I hope you take good care of yourself" Mrs Taylor said through gritted teeth annoyed at the way the girl had spoken to her just now as she stood up to leave.

Adriana watched as the woman stood up and that was when her brain rebooted. What had she done!! She was so self focused on the fact that someone like herself would be doing such a nasty job and had completely forgotten that she wasn't in a position to be declining offers.

Thinking about it now, it hit her that she didn't even have enough money on her again and where had she expected to get the money? Adriana could only imagine as it now dawned on her how much she needed the job. She cursed inwardly biting on her lower lip and before the woman could exit the place she was quick to call for her.

"Mrs Taylor" Adriana called out to have the woman halt, her head sharply, turning to look at the girl. "How do you know my name? '' Mrs Taylor said with a raised eyebrow as she was sure she had not disclosed her name to the girl yet. In Fact she didn't even know the girl's name.

Adriana slightly laughed realizing her mistake. "Are you kidding? Who doesn't know you" Adriana said with a smile but Mrs Taylor wasn't convinced.

"About your earlier offer. I am in" Adriana said, changing the subject. Mrs Taylor studied her Wondering why she had a sudden change of heart. 

She noticed the girl didn't even apologize for her earlier rudeness and she had just gone ahead to accept the offer she had blatantly refused. 

"But ... .I want an advance payment" Another shocker?! She spoke so freely. "Are you the one who will employ yourself?" Mrs Taylor frowned thinking maybe the girl had no regard for her. Maybe it was a mistake all along to give her such an offer.

"I am sorry Mrs Taylor, did I annoy you? I was just saying because I seem to have run out of money and I am afraid I would die of hunger before I even get my months salary" Adriana pouted apologizing to the woman to which she had not found herself doing but seeing how she looked upset she guessed maybe her attitude had offended her and she had come to understand that she didn't have the luxury of letting the opportunity slide away just like that.

Once Mrs Taylor had heard Adriana apologize, her face softened as she chuckled slightly at the girl's freeness. Maybe she had not made the mistake after all. This was exactly the type of person she needed. "As your wish." She agreed to give her the advance payment she asked for, making Adriana smile.

Adriana got discharged and she headed home but not before collecting the details of her work from Mrs Taylor as she read through the address to which she marveled at seeing as they stayed at the highest ranked and most expensive estates which made her start to wonder just how rich…rich? Adriana would go ahead and say wealthy. Just how wealthy was she?

She was to start work when she got better and at her own leisure time but she didn't want to take advantage of the woman's kindness and decided to resume work after the third day.

Adriana's pay got to her before the end of the day and being the rich and spoiled child that she was, she believed she had nothing better to do with the money as she went ahead to look for a better apartment for herself rather than continue staying in the wretched house the girl had been living in. She would live there until she found a way to get back inside her body.

Adriana was surprised at how much money Mrs Taylor sent her as even after renting an apartment she still had a lot left with her. A beautiful smile crept on her lips believing what she had with her was enough to keep her until the last days she used in this body before she would get back into her own and enjoy the comfort the girl had snatched from her.

Adriana got ready to go to Mrs Taylor's house once it was Thursday. She took her medications before she left the house as she boarded a cab to the address and once she had gotten there she placed a knock on the golden gate and somewhere through, she had to question if the gate was made with real gold.

Mrs Taylor sat in the living room going through her phone which was in her hand for notifications before dropping it down once she got bored with it as she stood up about to head back inside her room when the door to the entrance opened to have her slowly turn wondering who it was and she met with the girl she had helped some days ago all ready to start her work.

Mrs Taylor pursed her lips a bit, sizing the girl up. She sure didn't look like a girl who came from the slums. Her dressing was one of the latest brands and she noticed her shoes…..

Was she wearing heels? Mrs Taylor looked stunned at the girl's outfit, she looked way too classy to believe her assistant had really said she lived in the slums. How was she sure Jonathan did not give her the wrong information?

"You are here" Mrs Taylor's lips curled up into a smile as Adriana walked to meet her offering the woman a smile. Her eyes couldn't help but gape at the enormous and majestic house. "You have a very beautiful house Mrs Taylor" Adriana blurted out to have Mrs Taylor slightly chuckle.

"Well thank you but I assure you it is not as beautiful as you" the woman complimented in all honesty and Adriana gave off a fake smile. How poor her taste was. Thought Adriana.

"I will be back, let me go and get my son. Please have a seat while I will be back" Mrs Taylor offered and Adriana couldn't help but notice how she looked quite nervous. 

Adriana nodded about to take a seat in one of the chairs when she heard a voice coming from the other end and as the person came in view, Adriana's eyes flew wide open.

Wasn't that the guy who had threatened to call the police on her?
