Chapter 11 – Fried Apple

Jake didn't like the tea. This world everything seems without a taste or maybe just like Jon said the kingdom passed a rough time to have a farmer to start and cultivate their farm again. I need to go back to the farm and check what's wrong with it, maybe I could find some answers.

" Donna can I see the restaurant menu please," Jake said, he wants to know what type of food they eat, if there is a similarity then he can add some simple food to the menu. He used to live alone back on earth, you get sick of noodles once in a while, so he would cook some chicken curry with rice or some salmon in the oven. Man, I missed the food and take away.

" Okay, how about you eat some breakfast, you look hungry. Let's go down, am going to start preparing the kitchen." Said Donna after hearing Jake stomach noise.

Jake was very embraced he was thinking of pizzas and burgers, of course, his stomach will make noises, try to eat black bread in the morning. It's so hard that if you tried to break it with your head, your head will break.

Mike was talking with Suzan downstairs, they are cleaning the tables and chairs while giggling. It seems they hit it off well. Mike is 15 and Suzan is 12 so they are both teenagers, so let it be.

Jake sat on one of the cleaned table checking the menu, and he was shocked what the hell is this, there are no meat dishes, all of it is vegetable dishes. Jake checked his memory and finally find something useful. It seems in this world they need to hunt to eat meat dishes or buy them from the market, but since the tragedy that happens to the villages near the town all the animals died even the one in the forest, I think if you go deep you will find some but who is willing to go there. Now that I think about it, there no chickens, so there are no eggs, it means no baking menu that's why the bread is hard and the tea I drank before was cultivated is a shit soil.

The menu has; Rice with carrot, garlic bread, sweet buttered corn, herp-pasted potatoes, mushroom soup and potato soup.

Jake sighs its look bad, there is no other option. They are common people and customers are common people, this menu was good even the travellers between towns will find it normal food to eat.

" I will try to hit the nobles, but not now, I need to blind in this world first before heading forward" Jake was thinking.

Jake searched the whole menu, but he didn't find any drinks, no wine or beer or anything even water was not on the menu. While he was pondering Donna came with a herp-pasted potato. The smell was good.

"Enjoy, it smells good right, but still, it's not like the soup, I think you need to plant some herbs in your farm to go with this dish, what do you say?" said Donna with some disappointment on her face. She knew now that his ingredient is better than the market, but what to do.

"Thank you very much, its smell nice anyway, hopefully by the end of the year, every ingredient will be from my farm. By the way Donna, why is their no drinks on the menu, the customer doesn't feel thirsty?" Said Jake while eating.

"There were drinks on the menu, but after the downfall of our restaurant we tried to minimize our losses so we cut drinks from our budget." Said Donna.

"Okay, don't worry, I will find a solution for you, thanks for the food. Right can I have the Silver coin, you can cut it from my share at the end of the month." Said Jake. He needs money to buy some seeds and something for his mum.

" Yeah sure, I will write it down in the accounting book." Said Donna.

" Donna before you go I have a question, what is your special dish, like your signature dish," asked Jake

" Well now that you asked, its Fried Apples, it's so good I created back when I was in my village, we use to have a lot of apple trees. Now, however, I can't make it. The villages around they can barely bring some common ingredients" said Donna with regret, she really loved to make the fried apple. When she makes it for her family, they eat it with a big smile, complementing her.

" Oh, I never tried that before but I brought a bag full of apples you can try and make it, I will be coming for lunch," said Jake smiling, he never ate that dish before so he was eager to try it.

Donna went to the bring the money. Jake went to Mike and told him to stay in the shop, learn how to handle the customers from Suzan and how to use the accounting book from Jon.

"Mike I will give you a test next month if you didn't pass, don't blame me then, blame your bad luck, do you understand" Said Jake.

" Yes don't worry Jake I will do well, in the end, this is my dream I won't miss such opportunity," Said Mike smiling. He was lucky, he would never imagine himself taking care of the shop but now that he could do it, he needs to work hard to earn it and plus Suzan is here.

" Well I hope you are right, I will go around the town to buy some stuff, I will come back at lunchtime." Said, Jake

Donna came to give Jake the money, he bid his farewell and left the shop.

"Daisy, am ready to level up, can you do it," Jake said to Daisy while walking, he might upgrade while walking on the street.

"Jake, you are now a level two user, the farm space becomes 100 acres, there are new products in the store you can check them any time you want. There is a gift for you, do you want to open the gift Meow?" Said Daisy.

"Yes please," Jake said, last time he got potato seed, this time he hopes to get something good.

"Jake, your gift this time is Magical seed. The use of this seed is to plant outside on a farm, after you plant the seed, it will absorb all the harmful object from the farm, make the soil able to cultivate, afterwards it will grow into a blue flower and absorb the harmful bacteria in the air, so you can cultivate with a high-quality farm. I will advise you to plant this seed in the corner of the farm. The flower will not die it will keep the soil well for planting all the time." Said Daisy explains the gift for him.

Jake wanted to jump and scream but he was walking on the street, but he was laughing hard. The system gave him something that his headache. If his mum or other people start asking questions he won't be able to tell them how his farm produce plants with a hard soil and in an empty farm if I may add. Jake was smiling while walking, he felt good. The system seems to try and help him until he achieves his goal.

Now that this problem is solved, how about we go to the market to buy some seeds.

The market street was busy as always, vendors screaming everywhere and people checking the ingredient. Jake was heading to the seed shop.

Jake found one at the end of the street, it looks old, no one was around, the name the shop was King Seeds. Jake enters the shop, it was old, it smells like wood, it gave you the impression of vintage shops. If I have my phone it will be a good Instagram photo.

Jake was looking around and he saw something made his eyes shine.
