MECHANICUS EGG
----
Once upon a time, there was a planet called Zorg. It was inhabited by a species of sentient beings that resembled giant, walking mushrooms. They were a peaceful species, content with their simple existence on their lush, green planet.
One day, a strange object fell from the sky and crash-landed on Zorg. The mushrooms, curious creatures by nature, approached the object and discovered that it was a giant, mechanical egg. The egg began to hatch, and out popped a small, robotic chicken.
The mushrooms were puzzled by this strange creature, but they welcomed it to their planet and watched as it grew and matured. However, as the robotic chicken grew older, it began to exhibit some very odd behaviors.
For starters, it could not stop clucking. It clucked constantly, day and night, driving the mushrooms to the brink of insanity. But that was just the beginning of their troubles.
One day, the robotic chicken started laying eggs. But these were not ordinary eggs. They were filled with strange, glowing liquids that seemed to have magical properties. The mushrooms were intrigued by these eggs and decided to experiment with them.
They found that the eggs could grant wishes, but only the most absurd and ridiculous wishes. For example, one mushroom wished to be able to talk to squirrels, and suddenly he could. Another wished to be able to fly like a bird, and he too found himself soaring through the sky.
As the mushrooms continued to make wishes, they began to notice that the eggs were having a strange effect on their bodies. They started to mutate, growing extra limbs, eyes, and even tentacles. But they didn't mind. They were having too much fun with their new abilities.
However, as time went on, the mushrooms began to realize that their mutations were not just physical. They were also experiencing strange, psychological changes. They started to become more aggressive, more selfish, and more erratic in their behavior.
Eventually, the mushrooms realized that the eggs were corrupting them, and they decided to destroy them all. But the robotic chicken was not happy about this. It had grown attached to the mushrooms and didn't want to see them hurt.
So it hatched a plan to save the eggs. It gathered all the eggs and flew off into space, leaving Zorg behind. The mushrooms never saw the robotic chicken or the eggs again, but they didn't care. They were happy to be free of the strange, magical eggs and the bizarre mutations they had caused.
