Reina is extremely Devastated by the betrayal of renzo. She panicked at first until she started to connect the dots
"Renzo, when and why did you capture Riku" Reina asked.
"I was at his house when he came back from his last mission, he was supposed to report to the principal but I guess he never did, and as for why…..I needed more power, to show my Dad that I can be head of our clan, and I'm not just some weak soldier…I needed a sacrifice and honestly Riku has this hidden dark ability that I want for my own, if I can just get it from him then…" Reina cuts renzo off as she said with a cold gaze
" Riku took you like a brother, he's always by your side, you both stood by eachother, RENZOOOOO IM ASKING YOU WHY!!!!!!" Reina says bitterly. Renzo Did not give a damn, he smirks and said "it's always been that way, I didn't ask for riku's friendship. My plan has always been to get to the school and seek for someone with a powerful pillar and bring him to vox 5.0 and I need someone's trust to do that and riku's trust was easy to obtain in the entrance exam. We got close and he invited me to every family event, we trained together and it was easy to monitor his power growth…but the part about my Dad….anyway it doesn't matter, I will have all the power want, especially now that you three are here.." Reina didn't let him finish, she already had a sword pointing to his spine, chest, eyes and stomach.
"Move and I'll kill you, and you know for a fact that I will" Reina threatens renzo.
Renzo smirks saying "seems you have forgotten I have the ability to melt anything at my capacity ehh reina, I didn't think you of all people will be this stupid". He emits purple flame from his body and melts the swords pointed at him "quite playing around Reina. I know the kind of power you possess, and you can use it to beat me right here and right now if you use it". Reina didn't heed to his words 'so the tracker he found on the floor was left there on purpose, the barrier on the catacombs entrance and how he was able to release it soo quickly and easily. From his non chalant attitude from the jet till now….we were being set up' Reina thought to herself while 5 swords flew around her. She also held a sword on her hand too.
"You guys!!!!, this wall is a barrier too" suri yelled out
"Can you break the barrier using your force field abilities" Reina asked
"Yes I can absorb it, but I'll need time" Suri replied. The moment yon and renzo heard that Suri could absorb the barrier, they tried to head towards him to stop him but heiwa and Reina confronted the both of them. Heiwa had confronted yon and Reina confronted renzo.
"WE'RE NOT LETTING YOU GET THROUGH" heiwa and Reina yelled, ready to face off their opponents. Heiwa swiftly appeared right infront of yon's face and gave her a heavy blow to send her flying. Her goal was to separate renzo from yon so they wouldn't plan any combo attack.
'That stupid renzo doesn't seem bothered that we got separated…guess I'll fight on my own then' yon ruminated. She finally took balance from heiwa's hit 'but this girl..her hits are heavy. And she's my weakness in person, that damn renzo' she thought while looking and renzo's direction. Renzo grins.
"You know you shouldn't take your eyes off your opponent" Heiwa said aproaching yon with a hydro kinetic attack. Yon manages to dodge at the last minute.
Yon decided to strike, her hand glowing a sickly green as she summoned a stream of acid that hissed through the air. The acid sizzled as it made contact with the damp stone walls, releasing noxious fumes. Heiwa, her expression calm and focused, countered by summoning a wall of water from the pools scattered around the floor. The acid and water collided, creating a burst of steam that momentarily obscured their vision.
Undeterred, Heiwa moved with the fluidity of her element, her hands weaving intricate patterns that directed jets of water toward Yon. Yon dodged and retaliated with precision, her acid slicing through the air in sharp arcs. The confined space of the catacombs amplified the sounds of their clash, each attack reverberating off the stone walls.
As Heiwa drew from a subterranean stream, her water attack grew more forceful, transforming into a torrential wave that surged toward Yon.
'Tsk, why would renzo set me up with my weakness' yon contemplated.
Yon reacted swiftly, creating a protective dome of acid that bubbled and fumed as the water crashed against it. The catacombs filled with a dense fog, reducing visibility to mere feet.
Using the cover of the steam, Yon darted to a new position, her hand trailing along the wall and leaving a trail of corrosive acid. Heiwa sensed the danger and redirected a stream of water to flush the acid away, but Yon was already launching her next attack, sending globules of acid raining down from the ceiling. 'I'll have to be on hydro defense mode at always or else I'm doomed' Heiwa pondered.
Meanwhile, Reina and renzo are about to battle.
"I was starting to think you'd never catch on." Renzo said.
Reina's eyes burned with fury and betrayal. "You led us here to die so you could use our remains as amplifiers" she spat. "I never really trusted you, Renzo but Riku did…We were a team!"
Renzo's smile widened. "Team? You were always too naive, Reina. Too blind to see the power we could have seized. But I saw it. I embraced it."
"Power?" Reina's voice trembled with anger. "You betrayed Riku for power?"
"I didn't betray Riku," Renzo replied, his voice growing colder. "I simply chose a different path. One that your weak minds wouldn't be able to follow."
Reina didn't respond. Her focus was absolute, her mind and body in perfect harmony with the swords around her. With a thought, she sent the first blade whistling through the air towards Renzo. He responded with a burst of flame, the purple fire roaring to life and meeting the sword head-on. Metal met flame with a hiss, the blade glowing red but holding firm.
'The blades didn't melt' renzo contemplated.
"Surprised you couldn't melt my blades this time huh, well these aren't just normal blades. These blades are infused with my celestial aura so it would be impossible for you to melt them this time" Reina uttered.
Renzo narrowed his eyes, pushing the flame harder, but Reina was already in motion. The second and third swords darted forward, one aiming low while the other swept high. Renzo danced back, his flames forming a shield that deflected the blades. He retaliated with a sweeping arc of fire, forcing Reina to leap back to avoid the scorching heat.
"I don't need to melt your blades to get to you" renzo said with grin on his face.
The confined space of the catacombs amplified the intensity of their battle. The walls glowed eerily from the reflections of Renzo's flames, and the clanging of steel on stone and the roar of fire filled the air. Reina's swords moved with a will of their own, each attack precise and relentless. She directed them with a series of intricate hand movements, her face a mask of concentration.
Renzo was a blur of motion, his flames cutting through the darkness like a beacon. He launched fireballs at Reina, but her swords intercepted them mid-air, the explosions lighting up the catacombs in brief, violent flashes. Sweat beaded on her forehead from the heat, but she pressed on, her determination unwavering.
'So this is what the heat of his purple flames feels like, hotter than that of a red flame' Reina ruminated.
Meanwhile….
Heiwa spun, her movements like a dance, gathering water from the air and floor to form a protective whirlpool around her. The acid droplets sizzled as they hit the whirlpool, neutralized before they could reach her. With a fierce cry, Heiwa unleashed the whirlpool, sending a spiraling torrent of water toward Yon.
Yon met the attack head-on, her acid carving through the water in a violent display of hissing and bubbling. The two elements clashed and mingled, turning the floor into a slick, hazardous battlefield. Despite the punishing environment, neither of them faltered. Their powers illuminated the dark catacombs, acid and water swirling in a deadly, dazzling dance. The echoes of their struggle promised that the battle was far from over. Heiwa then noticed that Suri was almost done absorbing the Barrier, she was relieved until she took a closer look at the already fading barrier. She noticed a mysterious shadow figure carrying another figure on the shoulder. She sensed danger and thought to herself 'who could that be, with this devastating celestial aura, it's dark, really dark …and the other he's carrying has yet a pure celestial aura, could that be….' She realized that the one the mysterious figure was carrying was suri.
She wanted to end her battle with yon quickly so she could go help suri with the upcoming threat she had spotted.
In a final, desperate move, Heiwa summoned a massive wave, overwhelming Yon's defenses. The catacombs flooded, washing away Yon's acid and leaving her powerless. Heiwa stood tall as the water receded, victorious, her control over the element absolute and unchallenged in the dark, echoing chambers.
Heiwa used her hydro kinetic pillar to form a ball around yons head. Yon struggled and struggled for air, yon was defenseless against this attack, the water blurred her eyesight as she saw heiwa running to warn suri and Reina.
Meanwhile Reina and renzo…..
With a sudden surge of energy, Renzo's flames grew hotter, more intense. He thrust his hands forward, a torrent of purple fire racing towards Reina. She spun, her swords forming a protective barrier. The fire met the blades with a deafening roar, the force of the impact pushing her back. For a moment, it seemed like the flames would consume her, but with a fierce cry, she pushed back, the swords driving through the fire and dispersing it. 'How the hell was she able to defend that' renzo contemplated.
Renzo staggered, momentarily thrown off balance. Seizing the opportunity, Reina sent two swords streaking towards him. They cut through the air with deadly precision, aiming for his heart. At the last second, Renzo summoned a wall of flame, but it was too late. One blade pierced his shoulder, the other slicing across his side. He cried out in pain, the flames around him flickering and weakening.
Breathing hard, Reina advanced, her remaining swords poised for the final strike. Renzo clutched his wounds, his eyes burning with defiance and desperation. With a final effort, he summoned a massive wave of fire, intent on taking Reina down with him. But she was ready. Her swords formed a tight formation, cutting through the firestorm and driving into Renzo with unerring accuracy.
As the flames died down, Renzo fell to his knees, defeated. The catacombs fell silent, the only sound the ragged breathing of the two combatants. Reina stood over him, her swords hovering menacingly.
"It's over," Reina said quietly.
Renzo looked up at her, his face twisted with pain and anger. "You…haven't…won," he gasped. The purple flames flickered out, leaving only darkness and the faint glow of Reina's swords.
Reina felt a pang of sorrow "I wish it hadn't come to this," Reina whispered.
While she was staring at renzo's defeated self, she looked from afar and saw heiwa running towards her 'heiwa?, but why is she running' Reina pondered.
"Reina!!! Go help suri right now!!!!" Heiwa yelled out to Reina.
Before could turn, she saw suri was already sent flying by heavy hit. Heiwa tried to catch suri but the force in which he was hit was too much for her. She got pulled back leaving Reina with the enemy. "Heiwa!!, suriiii" Reina yelled.
A mysterious figure emerged from the shadows with Riku on his shoulders. He had a white hair with a human/cyborg hybrid body. He looked human but he clearly wasn't. The mysterious figure looked at where renzo lie and called to him
"renzo you can get up now, you don't have to pretend to be defeated anymore"
Renzo sat down resting his back on the wall "what took you soo long to get here vox 5.0" renzo said
"Well Riku woke up again and…" a sword was spointed at vox 5.0's throat before he could utter another word.
"PUT RIKU DOWN THIS INSTANT OR I SLIT YOUR THROAT!!" Reina said with a cold gaze.
