The Plan

A fight quickly started.

"Your highness, let's go!" Joana said.

"No! They might get killed! I can feel that they're all strong!" Ara yelled.

"But you're their target, my lady!"

"AND I'M NOT LETTING MY PEOPLE DIE!"

Ara quickly said an ancient word, and all assassins were frozen and covered in ice. Everyone was shocked.

"My lady... you know how to use magic?" Joana mumbled but enough to be heard.

"I do. I've been secretly learning it."

They didn't know what to say. Ara started chanting again.

*After a long chanting*

"What did you do, my lady?" They asked, curious.

"I do not wish to kill anyone yet, so they're still alive. These assassins probably saw what I did, so I made them sleep and put a spell on them to erase their memories about what happened. I also looked at their memories to find out their motives."

"Woah, you learned and did all of those things by reading books, my lady?!" Joana asked.

"Well, yeah...?"

'Although, the novel was helpful as well,' Ara thought.

'Our lady is a genius!' They thought, and Ara could read it from their faces.

"Okay. Since I revealed that I could use magic, I thought of a plan on how to go to Athena without them knowing. Also, to avoid getting killed by my enemies."

"Are you planning to use teleportation magic, my lady? But I heard from a friend who works at the mage's tower that to use teleportation magic, one of the requirements is that you must have visited the place at least once. My lady hasn't left the Kingdom, so how...?" Joana asked.

"You're right. But Sir Robel did visit Athena during his mission with his brother and his comrades. And I recently developed a way to use teleportation even if the caster hasn't visited the place."

"You did, my lady?!"

'Um, actually, I got it from the novel in my past life and haven't tried it before. But I hope it works.' Ara thought.

"Yes, but I'm not certain if it's going to work because I haven't tried it yet. But let's hope for the best."

Ara told them her plan. Then they prepared everything as they continued their journey.

Night finally came, and they arrived at another town to stay. They all went to bed, and the assassins started to move. They secretly got in through the window and saw Joana sleeping on the couch near Ara.

But they didn't know that the real Ara, Joana, and Spencer Knights were already preparing to execute her plan outside. Ara touches Robel's back and closes her eyes. Then, she started chanting in a low voice.

When Ara finally got into his memories, she scanned the place and used a new spell that she learned. Then the Knights noticed that the assassins had left the room.

"They really didn't know that those were fake?" A knight asked.

"I know. I've been our lady's personal maid since we were five. And I didn't even know that she had become a mage comparable to those in the tower." Joana said.

Ara finished the spell.

"Have they left?" Ara asked.

"Yes, my lady."

"Good. Now, let's go, Joana, Sir Robel."

"M-My lady, are you really sure you'll be okay with just the two of them?" The other knights asked, worried.

"It's fine. Besides, I need the rest of you to go back to the Manor to report what happened and deliver the letter. Robel will follow you guys once we safely arrive at the place."

"Understood, please be careful, my lady!" The other knights said after kneeling.

"Good," Ara said.

They went back to Ara's room and saw that Ara and Joana's fake bodies got brutally stabbed.

"Everything is as planned."

The other Knights went back to their rooms as if they didn't know what happened. Then, Ara, Joanna, and Robel left and went to Griffiths mansion after creating a clone for Robel.

*Next morning*

The other Knights acted as if they just knew that Ara and Joana got killed by some assassins. Because as what Ara said to them, "The assassins may come back the next morning or stay somewhere near to see your reactions. So, act as if you're in shock and failed to protect your master. Then use the magic tool that my brother gave you to notify them about what happened except that this is fake, act as if it's real. My letter will explain everything to them. After that, bring those bodies back to the Manor and give this letter to my family."

They followed what she said, and just after one of the Knights called Aeneas to deliver the news, they spotted two people sitting on the second floor of the cafe just in front of the inn that they were staying.

"Our lady is right. Those two people looking at me while talking to the Young Master were suspicious. I can feel that they're the assassins."

"Let's just follow her orders. What did the Young Master say?"

"He's enraged and told us to stay here until he and the Duke arrive with the other Spencer Knights."

"I hope he won't kill us before we arrive at the Manor."

Hours later, Aeneas and the Duke arrived with the Duchess and made the situation bigger and noisier. As soon as they got down from their horses, they asked where Ara's room was.

The other Knights took a deep breath and brought them there. They couldn't believe what was in front of them. The Duchess and Duke broke down to tears and approached Ara's (clone) body, while Aeneas grabbed Robel and punched him.

"WHAT ARE YOU DOING, ROBEL?!" Aeneas yelled.

Then he looks at the other Knights with anger and sadness in his eyes.

"WHAT ARE YOU ALL DOING?! DIDN'T I SAY TO PROTECT HER AT ALL COST?! Why...?"

"Y-Young master," one of the Knights said and gave him the letter.

"What's this?"

"There was a note beside it when we saw it this morning. It looks like a letter from the Princess. She said that you could open and read the letter once you got back to the Manor."

Aeneas looks at the letter, then at Ara. He started to cry harder and knelt on the ground as he broke down.

The Spencer family came back to the Kingdom with their bodies, and everyone, especially the people in the Manor, was devastated to hear the news.
