ER

Two weeks later.

Liang You Jin went back to his base and Jiang Nian has been working.

"Dr. Jiang! There's an accident and we need your help!" a nurse came in and told Jiang Nian.

Jiang Nian who was on her break puts down her food and ran out.

The ER is one of the busiest departments in the hospital, but because of the accident, it's packed with injured people.

"What happened!" Jiang Nian asks one of the nurses and then wears her stethoscope to listen to the patient's heartbeat.

"There was a shootout at the bank."

Jiang Nian cuts open the patient's shirt to stop the bleeding.

"Call Cardiac to come down!" she tells the nurse.

A few hours later,

The ER has calmed down and the flow has gone back to normal. Jiang Nian wipes away the sweat from her forehead and leans behind the wall as she watches other people working. She hasn't been this busy for a while and today it totally drained out her energy.

As she reaches her pocket, she realized that she gave the last one to a kid earlier.

Jiang Nian has this habit of carrying a few chocolates in her pocket because she would always skip meals.

As Jiang Nian was about to go back, a hand came in front of her with chocolate.

She looks up and saw Liang You Jin standing there.

Today Liang You Jin is different. He's wearing his uniform. Jiang Nian saw him with uniform before, but today's different.

"You don't want?" he asks her and held out the chocolate again.

Jiang Nian looks at him and then the chocolate on his hand. She takes it, "thanks."

She eats the chocolate and felt better.

"Why are you here?" she asks him and looked up.

"I was on a mission and came to see my teammates."

Jiang Nian then remembers before she did see some soldiers before. She nods her head and then noticed blood on his hand.

"Your hurt!" she said and then takes his right hand.

She brought him over to a seat and she went to get the first aid kit.

Liang You JIn watches her as she helps him clean his wound. "It's not a big deal." He said to her. But he regrets it right after saying it.

Jiang Nian gives him a hard glare. "I'm a doctor. You don't get to say that."

She wraps it with a bandage and told him not to make the wound wet.

"You can go now," she said and cleans up the mess.

"Did you eat yet?" He looks at her and waits for her response.

Jiang Nian closes back the kit and starts walking. Liang You Jin follows her from behind.

"Didn't have the time yet." She said and hands the box over to the nurse.

Liang You Jin looks at the time and it's almost 6 pm.

Jiang Nian's breaktime is usually around 12-1 and right now it's 6 pm.

"Want to go grab dinner together?" He asks her.

Jiang Nian looks through her patient's folder. "I can't at this moment. I still have some patients to follow up with."

Just then Jiang Nian's boss came over to them.

"Jiang Nian, go take a break. I'll help you with them." Jiang Nian's boss is a thirty years old man named Zhang Ruo Han.

"I can go do it. It won't take me too long." Jiang Nian gives a smile and walks away.

Jiang Nian didn't want Zhang Ruo Han's help because two days ago when she was walking home, Zhang Ruo Han came up to her. He confessed to her, but she rejected him. She only sees him as her superior and nothing else. But it seems like Zhang Ruo Han doesn't want to give up and Jiang Nian doesn't know what to do.

Liang You Jin gives a stare at Zhang Ruo Han and then walks away.

In less than two hours, Jiang Nian finished checking with her patients. She went to her locker and changed.

She checks the time and it's 8 already. Her family usually eats early so by this time there won't be any food left for her.

Jiang Nian said her goodbyes and walks out of the hospital. As she walks to her car, a jeep beeps at her.

Liang You Jin walks out of the jeep with the same uniform. Jiang Nian gives him a confused look and walks up to him.

"You didn't leave?" She asks him.

"I told you that I came to see my comrade. I don't have anything to do after so I waited for you to go eat."

Jiang Nian looks at him and wonders if he's still the boy that she knows. "You're this nice?" She asks him with a concerned look.

Liang You Jin slightly hits her head. "No, I'm mean. Let's go. I'm hungry," he said and walks back to his car. Jiang Nian gives him a face and touches the spot that he hit. She walks to his car and got in the passenger seat.

"What do you want to eat?" he asks her while driving.

"I don't mind." She said and looks at the scenery.

"You were at the shootout before?" she asks him.

"Uhmm. I was on my way back home from a mission and I got a call that there was a shootout. I was near the scene so I went."

Jiang Nian looks at him. She knows that he's like that. He would always go in front.

Liang You Jin looks at her and saw her not talking.

"Why do you ask? Worry about me?" he asks with a smile.

Jiang Nian got back to her senses and argues back.

"Who worries about you! I was just asking."

Liang You Jin laughs while focusing on the road. "Oh really? Have you thought about what you want to eat yet?" He asks her again.

"I want to eat the food you make!" Jiang Nian said and gives him an sneaky smile.
