Falling In Love With Jeremy

Jason Baker and Jeremy Lynch were best friends and that's all they will ever be. Even when Jeremy would send Jason's temperature high, whispering sweet words in his ears, even when he blushed at every compliment Jeremy threw his way, he would always refer to Jeremy as his best-friend. But one night, after the two had gone out together to drink, sex had followed after and Jason finds himself questioning a lot more than the title of his relationship with Jeremy.

Chapter 8

The whole car ride was silent all the way to work. This was the first time the two has ever been this quiet. Jeremy would glance at Jason every once in awhile, but he kept his eyes glued to the window, his eyes were red the whole time. Jeremy didn't want to push because he could tell Jason was still embarrassed about the whole situation earlier. The minute the car was brought to a stop, Jason reached to open the door, but Jeremy still had it locked.

"I swear I didn't see anything."

"Arrgh!" Jason let out in frustration. "Can we just drop it already? Like never talk about it again." He has been trying for minutes to forget that moment ever existed, but Jeremy wasn't helping by bringing it up.

"No." A thought entered Jeremy's mind, slowly pulling his lips back in a smile. "If it will make you feel any better. I could show you mine." Jason's head snapped to look at him in disbelief, making Jeremy burst out in laughter.

Jason let out a cuss. "Sometimes, I swear I want to punch your face. Will you open the door now?" He asked, trying again to push it open, but it was still locked.

"No. Because I want to speak to you about something and it has nothing to do with me seeing you naked." Jason hissed when he heard that. "You have been avoiding me, and that's not it, you're acting strange." His whole demeanor changed when he heard that.

"No, I'm not-"

"Stop it, Jason. I believe we have gone far enough that we can share things with each other. I care about you, and if there's something bothering you, I'll like to help, if you will let me." Jason was about to push the issue aside, but the look on Jeremy's face showed that he was serious about what he had just said. If it was another situation, Jeremy would be the first person he would share something with but then how did he begin to explain something that he didn't even understand, especially when he knows if he tells Jeremy would only tear their friendship apart and he didn't want that.

"It's nothing...just that my aunt Sarah, she's my favorite aunt, she has breast cancer and-"

"Jason," Jeremy interrupted sternly. "Your aunt Sarah died eight months ago from lung cancer and you hated her, even when she was being buried, if I didn't hold you back during the ceremony, you were ready to spit on her grave."

Jason was silent for awhile, embarrassed at being caught in another lie. He always found it funny how he could remember the littlest detail, but forget something bigger. He scratched the back of his neck nervously. He was going to say he had two 'aunt Sarah', but he didn't want to hurt Jeremy's feelings at being lied to again. "The reason I wanted to spit in her grave wasn't out of spite, she always said when she was alive that she wanted someone to spit on her grave, the only thing you stopped was my parting gift to her."

Jeremy sighed. "Listen, I'm not going to bother you about it again. If you want to keep it to yourself, fine."

"Come on, don't talk like that. Now, you're making me—Fine!" He yelled before Jeremy could get out of the car, which doors he just unlocked. "It's someone. I like someone and I'm confused and that's the reason I have been acting strange."

Jeremy looked back at him, scanning his face to make sure he was saying the truth. Once he had confirmed what he wanted. He sat down properly, then turned slightly so he could face Jason. "So, you're interested in someone?" Jason nodded. "A human being, Jason, not just someone from your imagination...again."

"I'm interested in someone, Jeremy."

"Do I know her?" Jason was silent. "It's a her, right? Or is it a him?" Jason still didn't say anything. "Fuck, it's a him?"

"What made you assume that, I haven't even said anything. It's just someone and what would even make you think for a second that I'm gay."

"Nothing." He blinked. "I never thought you were... nevermind, forget I said anything. So, tell me about this person you're interested in."

"Later, we have work, remember?" Not waiting for Jeremy to reply, he pushed the door open and ran away, while Jeremy watched him in disbelief.

Jason could feel Jeremy's eyes on him the entire time while he worked. He could tell Jeremy was just waiting for their one-hour free time so he could pounce on him with questions. Usually, he would have left his desk and approached already, but they had both gotten a little talk from their boss for coming so late, so be knew Jeremy was only sticking to his chair was to avoid getting into anymore trouble. He wondered what he had been thinking when he had told Jeremy he was interested in someone, but what took the crown was Jeremy assuming it was a man. He wondered why Jeremy would think that. He has gotten attention from gay men in the past, as he believed every lesbian would have gotten attention from men, or gay men getting attention from women.

He found women attractive, beautiful, and even had a five year crush on Peggy Walters from highschool. "A him?" Jason scoffed, but he had to swallow that almost immediately as he remembered that everyone would call him gay if they found out he masturbated to a pic of his best friend. "Oh, why this punishment." He would cringe anytime he remembered what he had done, especially when Jeremy was close.

"Hey Jason," Peter greeted, as he visited for what was one becoming an every day visit. "Say, will you be free tomorrow?" Tomorrow was a Sunday.

"Tomorrow? It depends. Why are you asking."

"Uh...my friends and I are having game night tomorrow, just thought it would be nice to bring someone from work. If you're free, we can go-"

"Great!" A new voice said excitedly. It was Jeremy. "Jason and I will visit together."

"Actually Jeremy, I wasn't inviting you, just Jason."

Jeremy let out a tsk, placing his arms on his chest, while feigning hurt. "I know. I didn't ask for an invitation. Jason and I already have plans for tomorrow."

"We do?" He didn't remember making any plans with Jeremy and was free, but he also didn't want to go with Peter. All he wanted to do was rest that day, and forget the troubles of the world. "Oh yes, I remember," he lies, snapping his fingers, this brought a sad pout to Peter's face. "I'm sorry, maybe another day, Peter?"

"Sure," he said grimly eyeing Jeremy before he walked away.

"Weirdo." Jason heard Jeremy mutter as Peter walked away.

"Shouldn't you be at your desk?" Jason asked, turning to face his friend.

"It's our break, Jason. It means you have all the time to answer my question."
