Chapter 4 (Hospital)

Mia POV:

I opened my eyes and saw a white ceiling above me.

Where am I? I thought.

I observed my surrounding, the room was small with light blue painted walls, to my left was a monitor that was beeping continuously and was showing my heart rate.

Shit!! I am in hospital. Did he take me here? But where is he? I glanced at my watch and it was 9:00 a.m already.

Oh my God, my classes...

The panic surged in me and I hurriedly stood up from the bed. My hand have a cannula, I take it off in a rush and ambled towards the closed doors of the room.

I opened the door, just when the two people look at me with a worried expression. Mel was standing there with a nurse, as she saw me she hurriedly comes my way.

Oh, Mia, you are up. How are you feeling? She asked.

Fine.. but How come you are here? Shouldn't you be taking classes? I asked.

Well, who cares about the classes when you found a girl you just met lying on the floor lifelessly.

Wait, what? I said in a shocked tone. How can she lie at my face? She wasn't the one to take me here but what if she wasn't lying?

Did you rip off the cannula from your hand? The nurse asked snapping me back into reality.

Yeah. I have to go. I said while taking my hand back from her hold.

Mia, you can't go. You are still not well. Mel interrupted.

Mel, I am fine and I need to take my classes too. I already have wasted much of time in here. I explained.

God. I don't know why am I even explaining to her when she was the one lying at my face. I need to talk to her about her false story but not in here. I need to get out anyhow.

Are you sure? She asked with uncertainty.

Yeah. I said.

Wait, you have to sign the paperwork before going. The nurse said and I nod before she rushed off to get the papers.

So, Mel tell me why were you lying? I asked while glaring her.

What are you talking about? Why would I even lie? She said shockingly.

Mel, I know you are not the one who brings me into the hospital so now, cut the act and tell me why did you lie?

Mia, I am not lying I am the one to bring you here and that is not even the point. You are ok and this is all that matters. Why all of a sudden are you questioning me? She said in a serious tone with sincerity in her eyes.

What if she was right? What if it wasn't that guy but her?

How do you find me? I asked curiously.

I don't know mia why this unnecessary thing is important to you in this situation but if you wanted to know how I take you here so be it.

You guys were running and I was worried for you, I knew it before, that you are not the one who pulls up this prank.

Wait, how do you know that? I asked.

Well because I already know Charlotte and her group, they always do these things here, I have seen them myself sometimes, but no one dares to complain about them.

Why not?! I asked.

Because they belong to rich and powerful families. Many people of this town work under them.

Oh!! Then what happened? I asked urging her to tell the whole incident.

She took a long sigh before continuing then,

I want to tell this to Alex, I ran after you guys but I was far behind from both of you. When I get outside the department I didn't see you guys there either so I went outside and then, at the parking, I saw you lying on the floor unconscious, I move towards you, your breathing was getting slower, I was scared that Alex was the one behind your condition. Your face started turning pale, so I hurriedly call for the people of the emergency department and we took you here.

Now tell me how did you end up there? The doctor informed me that you have dyspnea and the running triggered your disease. Is this the reason Or did Alex do something? She asked in a worried tone.

What should I tell her? Should I tell her about that guy? Will she believe me? But the point is, did I see the guy in the reality or was it just my delusion? But what if she was lying to me? I need to confirm that. I can't trust her this easily not when the thing that happened to me was completely different from her story. But who should I confirm this with?

Mia, back to earth. She said while snapping her fingers in front me.

Yeah. I am here. I said hesitantly.

So answer me. She said while eying me.

Well... I was saying when the nurse interrupted us and move the bunch of few papers towards me.

I took the papers from her hands and my eyes caught the glimpse of few sentences while I was signing and it answered my all questions.

I hesitantly signed the papers and return them to the nurse. After ensuring her for 20 minutes that I was right and she being the professional take some of the tests like checking heartbeat and b.p, she then gives me a prescription and went her way.

While I was disturbed the whole time because of the reports that just reveal that Mel was right and I was brought up by her. There wasn't any mention of a guy. The whole scenario was exactly like Mel narrated, which means I am wrong here.

So now am I imagining things? I thought.

Mia let's go. Mel said while taking my hand and we ambled towards the exit alongside with each other.

I know..mia something happened to you and you can always tell me. We are friends from now on and I have got your back. She said with a wink and a smile plastered on her face however her eyes were showing her worries which were linked to me.

Should I tell her? Will she believe me? What if she calls me a crazy person? I gazed at her and she was looking at my face with a deep expression.

I have to tell her. I thought and with that, I took a long sigh and explained her the whole happenings. Her expressions changed from curious to anxious and at last serious. Her eyes were focused at a distance and she seems to be in deep thought.

Mel, say something. Do you find me crazy? I asked her after a short gap of silence between us.

She gazed at my face and took a long sigh. I wonder what she was going to say!!

Mia... I don't find you crazy. She said.

Thank God, Mel. I thought you won't believe me. I said with an enthusiastic smile.

Wait, that means you are agreeing with me then what about the scenes you told me. I asked curiously.

Mia. What I told you wasn't a lie, you would have seen that on those papers and I wasn't the one, the nurse that just get you to sign those paper she was also there. What I am saying is real. However, what you are saying is weird. She said.

So that means you doubt me. Don't you? I asked.

No. Mia, I don't doubt you. She said in a polite tone.

Then what do you mean? I asked getting irritated.

Listen to me mia, I would have already denied you by saying that you are faking it but when you discuss the guy, you describe his appearance literally like Him and you know what is more shocking, he didn't visit the school for previous five years and mia if what you said had happened before I find you then you don't know what you get yourself in!! She said with a horrified expression that sent a chill ran down my spine and the goosebumps erupted on the nape of my neck and suddenly I started feeling cold. I pulled the jacket closer to me and stuffed my hands in the pocket.
