Predetermined Retreat?

Thud! "TUSKAR! Come out, come out, wherever you are!"

Dropping to the road in front of the gate, Hathon yelled and activated his perimeter without delay.

Despite the immense pressure, the Frantoch troops made up of people able to wield at least basic channeling raced through Hathon's perimeter in order to retreat through the gate.

At the same time, two other perimeters popped up elsewhere, one on top of the other. Together, they blocked one of the holes in the wall and prevented all soldiers from crossing, no matter what side they were on. The only unguarded hole was the hole south of the gate. And since it wasn't too far from the gate itself, all troops from Briston were forced through its bottleneck while chasing the Frantoch troops.

While Hathon enjoyed tossing around all enemy soldiers daring enough to enter his perimeter, the battle of perimeters at the northern hole was getting heated.
