Extra Extra

In his reborned life, he was a Demon King, but now he wants a fresh start as an ordinary person in a new world. However, things go awry, and he ends up in a novel world where the author himself is part of the story. Trying to recall his past lives, he only remembers one where he was an ordinary person on Earth. This novel's main character doesn't have grand goals like becoming the strongest or saving humanity. Instead, he decides to mess around and cause chaos in this new world. While some parts might seem similar to other novels, this story is original and inspired by "The Author's POV." The similarities with other "Extra" novels are coincidental, and the main theme here is completely different. ( I promise my work is original, I don't like copying other's ideas. But still, this novel is greatly inspired by "The Author's POV." And most of the "Extra" novels are the same. So maybe a parallel thinking worked here. I realized the the similarities after reading some other novels after writing my own.)

Chapter - 16

The boy with the golden hair brought the other boys who had fled. I had a look at them both. They were not conscious. The golden-haired boy observed my grimace and replied,

"I'm sorry. I should have been more reserved. They are, nevertheless, people who were chosen for the Phoenix Academy. I didn't expect them to pass out right away."

"No, it was not my thought. You subjugated them pretty quickly." I said.

"Yeah, I find that odd as well. Shouldn't they be more powerful?"

"They must have extremely powerful abilities. They've become weaker now that they can't use it."

"Ah, it makes sense. But are you all right? Should I take you to infirmary? You are bleeding a lot."

"You don't have to be concerned about me. But I'm amazed that someone is foolish enough to help someone in this predicament."

"Huh! Me?" the golden-haired boy questioned, puzzled.

"Look, do you see those people?" I pointed to the people far away, watching the show from a safe distance.

"Y..es?"

"What do you think they are doing?"

"Shamelessly standing there watching you being ganged up on by six people without trying to help." He stated.

"Noo! They are minding their own business."

"But...but that's not how a hero should react!"

"Imagine someone is being bullied by six people. What will happen now that you've defeated all six of them? They will seek vengeance. And you are powerful. So they'll undoubtedly come after him again. He will be bullied much more. Will you come to save him again? Will you save him every single time? By assisting him, you are placing him in even greater danger. Everyone should learn how to deal with their own problems."

The boy appeared as surprised as he could be. Who would have guessed that the person you just tried to save is criticizing you for saving him? But at the same time his words makes sense.

"I'm sorry," he added after a brief silence. "I should have considered the big picture."

I'm not sure why, but I didn't like being saved by someone when I hadn't even asked for help.

I took a peek at the ground, where a paper coffee cup was laying. Such a waste, I didn't even get to drink half of it and it cost me 1 point.

I took up the cup. Only around 20% is left, but it's not like I can drink it anymore. I approached the unconscious group leader and spilled coffee in his face.

He immediately awoke and his face turned pale when he saw me, or the golden-haired lad, or both of us together.

"How should I deal with you now?" I questioned, trying to sound bland, but I sounded increasingly angry as my wrath blended in.

"Do you know who I am?" The gang leader used his background card to try his luck on me. Well, I am not judging but even I don't think my body looks like someone from a strong background. People with strong background has a different types of charm. The charm of a wealthy family. Which I don't have.

"You don't even know who you are?"

"If my father finds out....

"Then he will be very disappointed."

I didn't let him finish. I pulled him up by the neck. And I was effortlessly able to do it wit my current strength.

"His son, whom he worked so hard to raise, received a negative score on the entrance exam to Hero Academy, ganged up on a person in a desolate place late at night, got his ass beaten up, and pathetically used his father's name to intimidate someone so shamelessly after losing the fight. He'll be really disappointed."

The group leader attempted to move his head, but it did not move an inch. My strength outweighed his. When he began to feel suffocated, I relieved the pressure. But that was enough to make him nervous. He then fully changed his colour. Bullies truly are strong to the weak and weak to the strong.

"Please spare me. I was mistaken. I was only looking for points. I'm never going to mess with you again."

Well, I have no options either. Beating him up doesn't benefit me at all. I am not a petty person who will take pleasure in beating him when I have already won. And I could have stopped the fight a long time ago if I had used the system. So I don't have a justified reason to beat him from my perspective. And all of his points are negative. So I also can't take anything from him... Wait a second.

"Let's see, you beat me and I beat you.So we're even there. But, thanks to you, the coffee I just brought went to waste. How are you going to compensate me for that?"

The golden haired boy and the group leader looked at me dumbfounded. They had the same questions: 'He wants compensation not for the damage done to him, but for the damage done to the coffee?'

"How about we make a deal? You took something from me, so it's only fair that I take something from you." I proposed.

"Huh? Just that? " the group leader asked.

"Of course. I just want to take something that you have on you right now."

"Sure, take whatever you want as compensation," the group leader said. But he was giggling on the inside. 'You fool, the Academy is keeping all of our belongings. There are no points in our possession.Nothing we possess has any value. So what are you even going to take. I'm going to make you regret the humiliation you caused me once this is finished.'

I grinned and extended my hand for a handshake.

"So do we have a deal then?"

"Sure, deal."

I shook hands with the group leader. We were both giggling inside and thinking the same word,

'FOOL.'
