Chapter 25 - Confrontation

Riven pov's on

-RIVEN! -I heard Vi's voice screaming.

I barely had time to blink and soon Irelia was on me and Yasuo.

Vi defended his attack with his two big guns as Yasuo and I rolled on the ground for us to get away from the conflict. Irelia tried at all costs to advance towards us, but Vi deftly defended herself against all of her furious attacks.

When he got a break, he flung Irelia away to keep her away from us.

Everyone was engrossed in that scene.

When I regained consciousness, Yasuo held my hand tightly, I looked at his face and he expressed a face of fear, while his eyes said. "Sorry".

I squeezed his hand firmly and smiled. I looked to the side and saw Syndra, she was shivering behind Zed's tall body, who was frowning. His eyes were redder than usual, and on his forehead, some veins stood out. He was angry.

Gods protect her and him too. I don't want to see the river of blood that will flow if either of you is hurt.

My heart beat faster and faster, my breathing was uneven, heavy. My eyes darted from side to side almost non-stop.

Vi and Irelia were staring at each other with blood in their eyes, I could hardly imagine the damage they would do when they faced each other for real.

I was desperate.

-Close your mouth, stranger! This is none of your business. -Irelia spat the words in Vi's face.

-If you have something to resolve with them, that's where you are. Why won't I let it pass me. -Vi said in a firm tone of voice as she lowered her face to be close to Irelia.

The rose's large gauntlets released great waves of steam, showing that she would be ready to fight at any moment.

-Apparently, you don't know who's been protecting you, guard dog. Those two are traitors to the nation and the one shortest there is none other than the commander of the army of Noxus. Isn't that right, Riven? -She said the words in a confident tone, lavishing contempt in her gaze.

After hearing my name come out of Irelia's mouth, I froze.

-I know very well who they are, and even so I will defend them! I don't care if they're enemies of the nation or whatever. They are my friends, and I will protect them at all costs. -Vi said while clenching his hands.

Around us, many villagers approach to see up close what was the noise in the streets.

But Irelia did not stop there.

And as if all they did were not enough, they still put an enemy in our lands? It just shows how they despise the city where they were born. -She spoke while squandering a manic smile on her face.

Vi grunted and then said.

-I think you better close your mouth before I break all your little teeth, Commander. -She emphasized the word commander.

-Are you still going to stand in front of me, dog? I think you better wash your mouth before talking to me like this. -They approached their faces and facing each other voraciously.

-Or what, ass face? Are you going to call my owner to have me put on a leash? - Vi growled.

-YOUR- Irelia closed her sword and tried to hit Vi in her belly.

The rose gripped the blade tightly, preventing Irelia's attacks.

-I hope you can take the hit. Vi smirked as he hit her with his free hand. You could see the gears on Vi's monopole start to work as it released very hot fumes.

Vi hit her torso hard, lifting Irelia off the ground with her thud.

The commander fell to the ground unsteadily, trying to recover to counterattack, but Vi was faster, leaving no room for the Officer to react.

Vi hit her again, but this time harder, hurling her straight into a large house to the left.

The Sheriff's big guard dog was disgusted in his eyes, his gauntlets boiling and releasing more and more vapor through the gears. The core at her back glowed and spun so fast it looked like it would explode at any second.

Irelia grunted as she tried to get up, the blow had been so hard she had practically destroyed a part of the large wall of the house. Irelia looked dizzy, but quickly recovered.

-Son of a bitch. -She said while wiping the corner of her mouth.

Vi gave a dry laugh and again charged at her opponent.

Irelia expanded her sword, in her weapon there were four extremely sharp blades that were floating apart, linked only by a core of energy, which sparked more and more.

Vi lunged at her, trying to land a right punch, but Irelia had been agile, defended herself with her weapon.

The two attacked and defended themselves masterfully while facing each other fiercely.

I got up off the floor and helped Yasuo do the same. We headed towards Syndra, who was already more stable than a few minutes ago.

Zed was still in position, he wouldn't let anything happen to her.

-Are you okay? -She asked me, worried.

-I am. -I hugged her.

My hands were shaking.

The metallic echo of the two guns clashing was intense, we didn't know what to do.

-You need to get out of here. -Zed said. -Now.

-But what about you? We cannot leave you alone. -Yasuo said.

-We are armed Yasuo, you have nothing but your fists and amulets. We can't risk them getting hurt. – Syndra said in a firm tone of voice.

We heard sounds of armor and people running, we quickly turned around to look at what it was.

Army soldiers marched to defend their city. People who were once crowded to see what was happening now fled in despair and fear.

The soldiers formed a barrier just behind Irelia, who twirled her blades with a manic look.

Vi had started to back away, she had gained a few scratches on her legs and belly, Irelia was too agile, Vi couldn't just kill her, so her moves would have to be well thought out. For if something fatal should happen to Irelia, it would unleash tremendous chaos among the nations.

The rose walked back, coming back in front of us again. She huffed as she returned to her defensive posture.

-The little dog was scared by the amount of people? - Scolded the commander.

- Not even a little. – Vi said, spitting out the words.

And again they went back to battle, Irelia looking stronger and more agile as Vi tried to dodge and block their agile and deadly attacks.

The great commander's sword core emitted frenzied sparks, ready to be discharged at any second.

-I need to help her… - I said looking at Syndra.

-And what will Noxiana do? Pick up a pebble and throw it at her head? – Syndra said, angrily.

-But yes, she won't take it! -I spoke desperate.

Meanwhile, a fleet of soldiers marched forward.

-By the gods! -Yasuo exclaimed looking with wide eyes at the soldiers.

I saw himself holding steady during the fight, but I could already see that his legs were starting to wobble, the cuts were numerous and some seemed to be deep.

-Bastard! -Vi yelled while giving him a powerful right punch.

Irelia shielded herself from the blow with her blade, Vi's loaded gauntlets caused Irelia's feet to sink into the ground.

-The little dog has a heavy hand, but it's agile enough! – She said mockingly.

Irelia made her blades spin quickly, and then a powerful electric wave was sent toward the rose.

Vi had been hurled into the wall of a building, the blow had been so hard, that Vi had been hurled straight into some rafters and building supports, which had collapsed on top of the big woman.

-VI!- My body had hardened completely upon seeing this scene.

On impulse, I started running towards my friend.

-THEN DO SOMETHING SO THAT SHE DOESN'T KILL MY FRIEND! – I screamed. Desperate. -Syndra is not weak to the point of depending on you to take care of her! YOU EITHER HELP HER OR I HELP! – I said angrily as I pulled my arm out of his hand.

Everyone looked shocked, unresponsive.

As the construction dust settled, we could see Vi's legs outstretched on the steep ground that had formed after her body's impact against the construction.

Irelia walked laughing towards my friend, with a devilish smile on her lips she stared at us at every step, like a tease.

-What will it be like to see a friend die in front of you, Commander? Do you know? You feel? I don't think so, you lost your entire battalion and ran off with your tail between your legs and we never heard from you again. How touching! – She spoke quickly as she got tangled up in her own lines.

Irelia swung her blades close to the building, brushing dust off Vi's tossed body.

A cough was heard.

-I see the bitch is still alive. -She growled. -It's time to end this.

Irelia approached Vi's body, who was coughing heavily from the inhaled dust.

The rose was with her body thrown over some beams and pieces of iron that would be used for the base of the building, her belly had been pierced by two beams that bent after crossing her body. Blood was pouring from my friend's mouth, but even so, Vi was wearing her smirk.

-Mutt dog takes time to die, bitch! - She laughed.

Irelia closed her blades, forming a large sword that was aimed at Vi's torso.

-Say goodbye to your friend. - She smiled

I wouldn't let her do that in front of me.

If they weren't going to move to help, fuck it, I was going to help my friend even without my sword.

I didn't grow up in the noble part of Noxus to depend on others.

I ran as fast as I could towards them, Irelia seemed mesmerized by the image of Vi sprawled on the ground.

She bent down and got up on one knee to say something.

I held her head in my hands and flung my body over hers as I hit my back on the ground, Irelia's body rolling beside me.

I got up quickly and headed upstairs once more.

I straddled her slender body and spoke as I spat in her face.

-I was born in a damn ditch of Noxus, do you really think I don't know how to fight in the hand when I need to? - And I punched him in the nose.

As I held her body with mine, I landed heavy punches in her face, which she tried at all costs to protect with her hands, which was useless as I held her arm with my left hand.

My physical strength was greater than hers.

Riven pov's off Zed pov's on

Riven delivered deadly blows to Irelia's face. The small white-haired woman exuded hatred.

-She's going to kill Irelia. -Yasuo said, amazed.

-Let it kill. -Said Syndra, cold.

I looked at her after saying those words.

Syndra had straightened the kimono I had given her as a gift, she had opened a cleavage that showed off much of her bust, and she had opened it a little at the bottom, thus transforming it into a long dress that had dragged on the floor, held in place by a strongly tight tie.

The Ionian soldiers had advanced again and Syndra had walked ahead of me.

-My turn. -She said, in a dark tone.

Riven stood on top of the commander, who was apparently passed out under Noxiana's fists.

As the soldiers approached Riven, I could see Irelia's blades expand behind Noxiana's back, thus, in one swift motion, driving all four blades into the smaller's back.

Riven just let his head fall forward.

Syndra froze as she walked.

Yasuo had turned whiter than before, his blue eyes were in a trance.

I had been paralyzed, out of breath.

A laugh was heard.

Irelia laughed frantically with a manic face on her face as she still held Riven's body beneath hers.

A silence took over the place, even the soldiers themselves stopped marching.

It was as if everything had gone gray.

And a soft "no" was muttered from Syndra's mouth.

Irelia's laugh was shrill, loud and disturbing.

-She thought she could beat me! – And she laughed louder and louder.

And suddenly, that devilish laugh began to choke.

Riven's hands tightened around Ioniana's neck again.

-AND YOU THOUGHT YOU WOULD KILL ME WITH THAT ASS TICK? Riven's voice yelled low.

Her body was surrounded by sparks that surrounded a transparent green sphere.

Yasuo seemed to be breathing again.

-DO YOU THINK I WAS A COMMANDER ONLY KNOWING HOW TO USE A SWORD AND HANDS? – She screamed as Irelia began to struggle.

-I THINK IT WAS COMMANDER KNOWING EVEN LESS! – The small core of the Ionian sword delivered a shock wave again, thus paralyzing Noxiana's body.

Irelia threw Riven's paralyzed body to the side. And then he staggered to his feet as he spat blood on the floor.

Syndra had begun to float from where she was. His head was down and his hands were shaking.

Irelia grabbed her sword and just as it would hit Riven's neck, Syndra's hands shot up and she grabbed Irelia by the neck, flinging her to the right side of the street. Syndra was controlling Irelia from a distance.

Irelia had been hurled into a house, completely destroying the walls of the small house.

Syndra's hands bared her long nails carrying a purple electrical current.

We ran to Riven, me and Yasuo.

We crouched down beside her paralyzed body, Yasuo put his hands to her face. He was crying to the point of sobbing.

She just smiled at him.

The guards who marched uselessly to our vicinity went one by one, levitating and rising, merging with their iron weapons and shields. Their screams were of pure horror and pain, blood was beginning to trickle from the great sphere of flesh and metal that had formed and that floated above the houses in the city.

Syndra had raised her hand, fist clenched and face down.

And just in time for a spasm, Syndra opened her hand and the large sphere of soldiers had exploded.

Blood, guts and metal flew through all the nearby houses, staining the streets of the beautiful capital with blood.

Syndra lifted her face and her eyes were completely white, her pupil was gone, and only a colorless fog was in her sight.

Syndra stopped levitating and soon came running to her friend's sprawling body. As if he had regained consciousness.

A laugh was heard on the other side. It was Vi, showing signs of life.

Syndra knelt beside her, and collapsed in tears as Riven laughed.

-You idiot! -She said as she put her hands on her face. – If I wanted to die so badly, I would have thrown you off the islands myself. -She mumbled in the midst of crying.

Yasuo was crying in relief, a smile on his face.

Until now I didn't know what to think or do.

I just knelt down and started to smile.

Stone clatters were heard, and slow, heavy footsteps shuffled through the smoke and dust of the construction Irelia had been hurled at.

There was no way she could still stand.

A low, loud laugh can be heard through the dust.

-If I can't take Noxiana, ... at least I'll take the guard dog with me. -The weak voice of mine accompanied by a shadow that was held on a piece of wall.

And suddenly that shadow was gone.

And a tinkling of metal had been heard on the other side, Irelia was in front of Vi's smiling body.

Irelia thrust her blades forward, piercing the flesh of-

-HE ARRIVES! A thin voice was heard as Irelia's sword soaked in blood.

A small mist broke up on the ground, and Akali found herself with her belly pierced.

A loud scream was heard as Irelia dropped to her knees on the ground. In tears.

While Akali, who was getting whiter and whiter, said weakly.

-He arrives. Please. – She said as her body fell back and her voice turned into a sigh.

Irelia quickly grabbed her friend's body.

Akali seemed to wither, while Irelia was crying out loud.

Tears started to run down my face.

Akali couldn't be dead.

A small Noxiano gas canister rolled slowly through the bloody streets of the Capital.
