Portal Closing (2)

As Rune enters the portal it warps and the other side of it was what looked like a city of different countries with some elements of mainly China, Japan, and Korea with some other countries in the mix. As he admires the scenery he sees Hilda and Lancaster scoping the area to see if some entities are near them.

"No entities around us so its safe for us to stay here a little longer before we move to a different area. " Lancaster tells Rune as Hilda appears. Hilda is holding a map she found laying around where she was checking for entities. She lays it down to the other two as she opens it as she did the map reveals the whole section of hell they are currently in is the city area with 2 more areas to explore. The forest and the sea area the two other areas arent as big as the city but are equally dangerous.

"Since we now have a map to tell where we are, what do we do?" Hilda asks as Lancaster suggests staying in the city to eliminate everything while moving to the next area and so forth. Rune just listens since he does not know what hes doing.

Hilda accepts Lancaster's suggestion before asking Rune if he can take care of himself just fine. "I can handle this by myself if thats what your saying." He replys before being told by Hilda they will split up to increase efficiency in clearing this area.

"Well then wish me luck then." Rune says as he is the first one to leave the perimeter and starts going to one side of the city, since he wants to hurry and leave this after closing the portal.

-A Hour Later-

He can be seen walking to one of the areas in the city with his scythe out since he has no trouble in carrying it by hand since he had applied a lightness enchantment, as he looks around the pristine city he felt a gaze on him as he turned to where he had felt it he saw what looked to be a huge lady wearing all white.

His caution now at an all time high as he positioned his scythe in a defensive posture as he eyed the lady. As he slowly tried to move away from the lady she made one of her arms extend abnormaly and went like a spear as it barely missed his body.

He made a run for it as he watched the lady in caution as he trys to fully run away but the lady keeps blocking him with her lengthening arms and is getting closer and closer to him. Until he decided to fight as he grips his scythe in a reverse grip runs towards her when she was not expecting a head on charge as the lady was planning to block his escape.

As he got near the woman he slashed her across the chest and followed it up with a slashing motion to her legs. But before he could connect to the legs the lady dodged as she used her arms to try and hit him.

He dodged and dodged again with better proficiency after every dodge getting used to her patterns of her swinging motions. As he did so he waited for another opening for him to slash again but there was yet not one.

After a while he was getting tired of the lady defending and was also feeling tired he smashed his scythe on the blunt side to the ground to create a dust cloud.

As he did he found a pebble and he quickly engraved it with a reinforcement enchantment and threw it at the lady as she went to block it, he moved to the side and slashed her neck. As he did that the lady screamed and fell to the floor dead. Once he confirmed that the lady was he sat down on the floor and was panting heavily but before he could rest he saw a group of what looked to be green humanoid turtles with a bald spot.

Once saw them he ran even though he was only tired he did not think he had a chance since they were in a group and he was getting used to this fighting with the lady and other entities. As he found a place to hide after running for a minute it was a dilapidated building that was his hiding spot until he recovered his energy.

"What should I do?" He asked himself as he would need to clear this side of the city so that the portal can be closed. As he eyed his surroundings to do long range fighting he found stones that could probably be good for throwing at them.

"I really should have practiced even more of my ability instead of the scythe." he sighs as he grabs 15 stones and lines them up next to each other. He has a plan to advance his proficiency with his ability as he slowly holds a stone with his hand and engraves a single stone first with 2 enchantments the lightness and reinforcement enchantment.

As the stone glowed he focused each carving with sheer concentration before the stone slowly crumbled away on his hand as he clicks his tongue. "First try failed." he tells himself as he tries again with the next stone before that too crumbled he tried and again and again failing each time before he had managed to get it down on the 8th try.

"yes yes yes I got it." he would have jumped for joy if not for his precarious situation as he finally looked beyond were he was hiding to still see the turtle like beings still looking for him.

After he got the hang of double enchanting the stones he grabbed one and threw it at one of the heads of the turtles. Due to reinforcing them they are much harder and due to the lightness was thrown much harder instantly killing one of the turtles.

Once that happend the remaining turtles saw him and charged towards him for revenge of their fallen comrade. He was trying to stay calm while they turtles were charging and threw each of them a stone with his power he could muster.

Some of them got hit and were injured but the rest did not as the stones missed as he saw them getting closer he swapped tactics and used his scythe to try and group them for one close slash that would kill them.

As he tried to find the right time to group them and kill them, the turtles were only going by 2s and trying to get close to him but he defended against them. But he got surrounded in a circle by them

After a while he got tired of this again and just went to dodge their attacks within the encirclement as he made a dust cloud again and went to kill those that were near him. He spun around to make a circle with his scythe pointed out as he slashed the turtles and instantly killed them.

As the turtles that were alive saw thus their legs felt week and fell down as Rune went to each one and used the scythe to kill them.

After the last turtle got killed he instantly collapsed to his knees as fatigue had set in he slowly stood up but it was difficult as he went back to his hiding spot to rest as he finally noticed that the sky never changes and stays the same. After knowing that he fumbled his clothes to find his phone he found it and saw the time being late.

He finally got time to rest and went to sleep on the rough ground since he accidentally left his bag when he left to go to one side of the city.

-Morning-

Rune could be seen waking up from his rough sleep as he starts dusting himself off once he was done he started stretching and planned to go outside to continue his clearing journey.

Before he went out he decided to prepare himself and decided to go naked and engrave his clothes and scythe with reinforcement he wore his clothes again and held his scythe as he goes out.

-Hours Later-

He can be seen resting with his scythe next to him leaning with countless bodies of entites that can be seen as the turtles, tall ladies, a headless person whos face is in the chest, ghosts that are perpetually starving, and vengeful spirits of nobles and martyrs.

Their corpses were forming a trail to where he was he also double checked his area to see if some were still alive. But he killed them all

-Rune's P.O.V-

I cant believe im surviving this portal maybe im getting used to fighting these entities just in a day of fighting them maybe im a prodigy but eh probably not.

Still though some of the entities I fought against seemed friendly but when I went near them they become more demonic and attack me.

Maybe thats what she ment.

-Flashback-

I am just talking to Hilda after I got myself licensed about the portals and their entities which I got confused as why are the kind creatures harming some Excorsists when I read some of them. She told me that those depicted as friendly in their culture might be their real versions and the entities that take their form corrupt it.

I thank her and give her a smile and she then just turns her back to me and walks away I dont know why.

-Flashback End-

Maybe she does like me.

-3rd P.O.V-

Rune could hear noises coming close as he prepared himself before he saw Hilda and Lancaster appear surprised that he killed this much as they saw him and the corpses.

He asked why they were in his area before being told they killed all of theirs and was checking up on him to see if there were still any entities.

"I got all of them I double checked." as he flashed them with a thumbs up. "Good since we will plan what area next we will attack." Hilda and Lancaster went near him and sat down pulling the map and his bag from the storage ring Lancaster had.

"Here you left it." as Lancaster gave his bag before being thanked by Rune

"Ok so I plan the forest since it would probably the closest where we are." Hilda explains as she points to where they were at as it shows the forest being nearer to them. She asks if there are more ideas but she only received nods and acceptance.

"Then forest it is we will go tomorrow after we rest." Hilda tells them as they now have a new area to clear for tomorrow.
