Chapter one. How we met.
Rita steps in smiling" with her chin face upward and eyes beaming with inspiration as she calls Helen to assist her with her luggage which Helen does and walks to the kitchen to keep them.
"Rita has been a single mom "as at the birth of Helen and has been a teacher, instructor, friend, adviser, fatherly figure, and a mother to Helen.
They have become closer as the years go by.
Helen is popularly known as her mother's daughter, the bond shared between them seems to be an unbreakable bond.
Having a mom who understands her was a great blessing to Helen. A present and blessing she never expected though some loopholes concerning her father give her a source of concern but deep down she knew she was a blessed child with her mom.
She recalled she was filled with his seed, a fact that gave her immeasurable joy.
He wanted to mark her in other ways more primitive ways. He wanted to make her his, she knew this was his sperm lying all over her body. Her breast, her ass, dripping down
He cannot get enough of her. She felt so lonely that she needed someone to savor the fact that she was no longer alone.
Get used to it, honey, he said. It is my duty and privilege to take care of you.
To see all your needs even the most intimate ones being met.
"4His arms were around me as he pulled my body flush against his as he lifted me, my legs wrapping around his waist instantly before one of his hands trailed up into my hair". She envisioned.
Living life without her mom would be unbearable, and not worthwhile.
She prayed silently for God to keep Madam Rita, her mom for her.
She is the only family Helen knows and both of them have become so fond of themselves. They cook, wash, gist, play, and do everything together.
From the day Helen could speak and mutter "Mama" everything changed for Rita.
"The grass got greener, the sun shone brighter and an immense joy erodes her with the pride of motherhood whenever she is with Helen as little as she was back then".
When she breastfeeds her, lays her to sleep, plays her to sleep, and plaits her hair, she feels a sense of admiration and accomplishment. She wonders how dark the earth would have been if not for her baby Helen.
"At times, guilt comes on her when she sees the striking resemblance between Helen and her mistake amidst which she swore to keep a secret from Helen, being a strong woman".
All this was her past and she chose to not let it be a hindrance to what was ahead of her and her lovely daughter.
She has held herself accountable and never harbored ill feelings about taking care of her baby girl or made her feel any less wanted in her life.

Helen was a blessing to her and no matter the circumstances of her coming into her life couldn't stop the fact that she saw Helen and would treat her as such.
"Still in the thought, She was amused by how time flies, and in a twinkle of an eye Helen was gradually turning into a teenager and would celebrating her thirteen years birthday in September and Rita could not contain her emotion as tears dropped from her eye".
Helen has not held a lot from her at least she has ensured that she is involved in every part of her daughter's life starting from what happened to her at school to her close friends Syndey and Xander.
Rita has seen a lot of avenues to advise Helen and tells her the importance of focusing on her studies and shunning bad friends.
Helen in turn has obeyed her mom diligently and gives her no reason to worry or a cause of alarm.
In all of this, Rita seems overwhelmed by how life has turned out over the years for her.
Rita sobs a little bit as she thinks about all of this, seeing this feeling and tears from her eyes "asks "Mummy what is the matter" Rita says how proud she is to have her in her life.
Helen replies, "I am so pleased to have you in my life, and I bless God each day".
"They both chuckled and smiled".
Been an inquisitive and smart kid
Helen asks who her dad is and would love to meet him but Rita responds with a sigh," saying"It is a long story and diverting the conversation to the sunny and calm weather.
Rita couldn't even entertain a question about Helen's dad, the discussion seemed too weighty for her.
How could she tell Helen that she has two dads, or her legally married husband was not her dad?
A child born out of wedlock, out of an experience of loneliness.
If only she had held her feelings under control, it might have become a different reality.
Memories were so intense and bringing it back seems too deep for Rita.
"Rita tries never to spring up matters about her past and also doesn't entertain questions as to his dismissal".
Helen had never seen her dad and two it was never a topic of discussion between them, even when it came to the atmosphere was always tense.
Rita and Helen's bond has grown over the years, and it has been a glorious experience.
From the day she started working to the day, she muttered her first-word mama.
Helen has felt each of them, every day has been glorious no doubt and a feeling of nostalgia filled her as she thought about it.
This child was a blessing and there is nothing you could tell her to change her man from thinking otherwise.
Her memories diverted to Thomas and the love they had for each other, and she wished he had always been there with her.
How he laughed, smiled, and held her. He is the kind of man who has assured her she needed. He loved her deeply even with her insecurities, her needs were always met by him.
He would always say to get used to it, honey. It is my duty and privilege to take care of you.
To see to all my needs even the most intimate ones.
How she longs for him right now and wishes for him to hold her in his arms, to have someone to share her life with her deepest secret and fantasy with to be by her side always through thick and thick.
But Thomas was nowhere to be found but on a battlefield fighting for the nation and his life.
Rita silently prays that he is alive and hearty to come back to his family from wherever he is.
To come and be the lovely husband to her and she is ready to bear as many children as he desires.
