Catching Blan's Attention

Carol, Lian, and Duran then discussed the atoms first, explaining what they were and a few more basic things. At first, Blan seemed uninterested, thinking that whatever they wanted him to hear would be a waste of time. But that didn't last long, especially when Lian decided to test his new Fire Element abilities after getting the basics of the Wind Element Star Energy Absorption Manual.

"So, to make things easier to understand, what causes fire is not exactly the Fire Element, but the chemical reactions behind it. Since I'm still alive after reaching this world, that means the ratio of oxygen, nitrogen, carbon dioxide, and other elements in the atmosphere is similar, if not identical, to my previous world." Lian explained to the others.

Lian then extended his hand before continuing, "I have just begun to learn how to use Star Energy. However, when it comes to the elements, Carol, Duran, and I are definitely heads and shoulders ahead of anyone we have found in this world so far. Especially myself since I'm a chemistry teacher. Anyway, since I just started to use Star Energy, that means I'm still a Level One Star Energy Warrior."

Star Energy then gathered around Lian's hand as they passed through the Star Channels. Obviously, Lugg gave Lian support to make the process natural. Soon after, Lian used it to gather Fire Element, ultimately transforming the Star Energy above his hand into a somewhat large fireball.

Blan couldn't help but feel impressed by that. After all, if Lian had really just started to use Star Energy, then his talent was ridiculously high. Nevertheless, he knew that Lian was still in the middle of his explanation, so he didn't intervene.

"Now then, what you see here is Star Energy, as well as oxygen burning. The problem is that the atmosphere is made up of 78% nitrogen, or so I believe in the case this world is similar to my own. If that's true, then 21% of the atmosphere is made up of oxygen in the air, which is what keeps us alive. The last 1% is made of other gases that I won't talk about for now."

"Here comes the catch. I have just understood the basics of the Wind Element Manual, so I can only more or less separate nitrogen, which is not flammable in normal circumstances, from oxygen, which is highly flammable. That means I will get a lot more material to burn. Let's see if that works."

With that, Lian raised his hand above his head while Duran and Carol asked the others to distance themselves from Lian. The reason Lian raised his hand that high was that he was afraid the fireball he summoned would be so big that he would burn his own face with it. Naturally, making it appear far above his head was a much better choice.

*Shuaaaaaaaaaaa!*

Suddenly, the fireball, which was more or less the size of a normal bowling ball before, increased almost five times in size! And that was considering that Lian wasn't doing his best.

"Holy shit! Your fire is pretty much as big as the one I was able to create when I was at Level Two!" Naturally, Tuly was scared out of his mind.

Blan was even more so. By now, even if he didn't want to, he had to believe Lian's group wasn't lying.

Lian then stopped fueling it with Star Energy, which made the fireball disappear in just a few seconds. "Phew... That went a lot better than I thought." After that, he looked back at Blan. "That's what the knowledge from our world means. This is what it means to know what atoms are and how to use them in your favor."

Surprisingly, Blan nodded vigorously! "You have to teach me more! If I can use it during my creation of medicine, I'm sure to make even higher-quality ones!"

Carol shook her head, though. "Let's finish this discussion first, shall we? Now then, Lian just gave you an example of how to use the atoms in your favor. You need to understand that all the matter in existence is made of atoms, and we are no different. We still don't know whether Star Energy is also a type of matter or not, though. We have no way of ascertaining it with this world's technology either."

"Anyways, now we can finally enter the topic of the blocks of life, the cells!" Carol said. "However, as we mentioned before, none of the three of us are very familiar with this topic, so there isn't much we can say. We will try to explain in the best way possible, though."

Let alone Tuly and the others, even Blan's eyes and ears were 100% focused on what Lian's group had to say from now on. Perhaps not even the risk of losing his life would force Blan to leave this group.

And just like that, Lian, Duran, and Carol tried to do their best to explain everything to the others. Every now and then, Tuly's group and Blan would try to apply what Lian's group talked about. Naturally, it was quite difficult for them since the concepts were just too foreign.

And yet, a day later, during their travel, Blan had finally succeeded in applying one of the teachings of Lian's group. Star Apothecaries needed to use more than just their Elemental Affinity. That's why they were so rare since one needed someone capable of reaching some degree of success with other elements as well.

In Blan's case, his affinity was Wind, but he also learned how to use Fire and Water. Of course, none of those two could get to the same level as his Wind Affinity. Nevertheless, he succeeded in separating oxygen from nitrogen under the guidance of Lian's group, which made his meager control over fire look more like someone with an affinity for that element. "This is so magical!"

Lian couldn't help but laugh out loud in response. "Hahaha! Magical? That's exactly what we thought when we came into contact with Star Energy for the first time."

Blan nodded as he looked at Lian, asking him, "Are all the people from your world like this? Do they all know about these 'periodic table of elements'?"

Lian shrugged his shoulders, telling him, "Well, most of them know the basics. However, very few will be at my level since my job is directly related to it." Lian was obviously trying to showcase himself. He was very interested in the Star Apothecary job as it seemed to give a lot of money. Plus, it was quite safe.
