Project LACE was designed to evolve humanity into its next stage, not for reasons like super soldiers and the like, but to prepare humankind for space travel and its associated dangers. The increased intelligence, mental processing, strength, reflexes, and increased lifespan is just a side benefit to what they were truly after. Adaptability. Don't you know? According to established theories of evolution, a creature must first acclimate itself to its surroundings before it adapts, then comes generation after generation of its spawn adapting to its environment. Real evolution. I saw different stories and fanfiction claiming that their Main Characters can "evolve," but in reality, it's nowhere near the actual meaning of evolution. And most of the time, they use a bullshit slave labor system to help them "evolve." Which I hate. Also, don't expect a system. I hate them. I'm not saying that I'm an expert in the theory of evolution, but I'm here to give you a little taste of it in a fantasy setting!
