His father continued. “Even when I told you who I was to save yourself from taking your own life so many Earth years of yours, I shouldn’t have revealed myself. I broke all the accepted rules that were created because I loved you. I love you my child, more than all the suns and moons in this universe. Love is a funny thing. Many of us angels didn’t understand it until we took human form and visited Earth. It’s one thing for us to rationalize what a soul means, it’s something else for us to be a part of it, to hold a baby in our arms.” Suryal paused and then spoke again. “Always remember, as long as I exist, you will always feel and hear of my love for you.” Suryal’s melodious voice soothed Eli. “When you cried when your mother died, I almost came back to Earth to be with you. But I couldn’t, for all the universe…I couldn’t.”
