Carl had pulled away from Xiu Fang, and made his way into a room where the words 'Transmission Chamber' was written in glyphs on a wooden board.
'It this where that old man was referring to? Hmm, I can't see any other rooms around... so I'll just have to try it out then." Carl thought to himself as he let out a sigh before pushing open the unlocked door.
"Huh, who's that!" A male voice was heard followed by a the sound of someone fumbling around inside a box full of tiny metal bars.
Before Carl could speak, a large cannon was pointed at his face. Azure Blasting Cannon, 6th Grade...
The bright runes along the smooth parts of the cannon, alongside the beautifully designed shape and exquisite materials used was a factor which Carl, a cultivator could instantly spot.
'The blacksmith who made this is no joke.' Carl thought as he continued to stare at the weapon in curiosity.
"Hey, I'm talking to you! Answer me now before I blow you to smithereens!" The male voice was heard again, with an even more cold and hostile tone.
Carl then lifted up his eyes which were fixed on the cannon to see the person holding it. It was a brown haired man with bright gray eyes and an angular pale face.
"I came to use the Transmission Array. I have a place I'd like to travel too." Carl said as he straightened his pose before taking a glance at the muzzle of the cannon, "Is this how you treat all your potential customers?"
"Cough cough, these are just protective measures for some hooligans who try to abuse the Transmission Array. Anyway, I'm sorry for any inconvenience." The man let out a sigh before lowering the cannon and straightening his back. Only after seeing the strange cultivator not trying to sneak attack, he calmed down and spoke, "You can follow me now. The array is just up ahead."
"Where are your manners man? By the way, I'm Carl Thomas." Carl said as he stared at the strange brown haired man with a smirk.
The man eyes twitched, but nevertheless he replied, "I'm Liu Xi. It wasn't too nice to meet you though."
Carl nodded. He watched as the crazy man turned around and walked away before following with a vigilant expression.
One wrong move... and I won't go easy on him! The both of them thought as they walked into a room.

Dead Zone,
Western Alliance,
Single-step Sect Outskirts,
It was cold.
The weather was really cold with snowflakes falling down from the sky into the sea of snow layering the ground. The entire street was devoid of human life, with doors creaking and rats squealing.
Thunder rumbled in the sky, as black lightning rained upon some buildings. Frightened cries of various beasts was heard as a thunderous roar followed.
Thud Thud Thud Thud.
Slowly a hideous beast stepped out of the shadows. It was akin to a dinosaur, with a sturdy iron plated body weighting no less than 300 kilograms and thick hind legs. It had two small metal claws on both sides of it's thick body, with two beady eyes on the sides of it's head.
Openly it's wide crooked mouth, and revealing rows of jagged metal teeth, the monster uttered a ferocious roar to the sky. Lifting up it's heavy leg and smashing it against the ground, it used the force to run across the snowy road.
After it left, various shadows stepped out of the shadows simultaneously. Each of them radiating a cold and murderous aura as they glanced in the direction to monster went in.
"Jack, you sure you couldn't trace it back? That thing leaves quite the trail..." A tall busty blonde said as she looked up to the large potholes in the snow with a raised brow.
"Yeah, pathetic Single-step Cultivators. Something so large can't be traced?" A bulky giant in stunning black demon armour scoffed as he folded his arms and glared at the little boy with red hair known as Jack.
Hmph! You guys are so full of yourselves. I'll just wait until you guys see the truth and see what a mess you've made of yourselves!" Jack, the red haired boy snapped at the tall busty woman in tight revealing clothes before looking away.
"You all are fools... shouldn't we chase after it before it disappears right under our noses? That thing destroyed a village!" A tall slender girl in scarlet robes said with a frown as she drew out her golden staff.
"You're the fool, Lily! That's a 3rd Grade Demon Beast! A single strike from it will turn you into human blood paste. If you're so cocky and wise, you should go chase it yourself!" Jack snapped furiously, his eyes shooting out death lasers as he glared at the mage in scarlet robes.
"You all should stop bickering over nothing... the fuck! Are those potholes shrinking or what?" A male cultivator spat out in shock.
True to his words, the potholes in the snow left by the massive creature was shrinking at an alarming rate now. Jack who saw this suddenly felt alive.
Didn't they say it was easy to track? Try tracking a dinosaur moving no less than 80km/hr in the snow.
It was a tanky race car! Nearly impossible to catch in this wonderful terrain.
Seeing the rate at which the potholes were shrinking, the cultivators threw horrified glances in each others direction before dashing after the trail.
"Trail's running 'cold'..." A skinny little cultivator joked around, only to receive several piercing gazes at the back of his head. "I was just joking guys... chill."
"Idiot, don't jinx it!" Another cultivator snapped back furiously as he tried to suppress the fear in his voice.
If something of that scale was allowed to leave this dead zone, the number of casualties incurred upon the western alliance would be frightening.
Jack looked up to the frightening Black Thunder Cloud above their head in fear... this is exactly as it always begins.
"Jack what are you looking at?! Get over here now!" The busty female from earlier said as she clutched her scimitar tightly, "We're going to pursue it at full speed, and if we find it... don't hesitate to engage immediately!"

On the other hand, Carl looked around himself. There was nothing in the room except for countless glyphs and runes engraved upon the wall, with the constant surging of universal power.
'Damn, with such an amount of universal energy. Cultivating in here for a month is enough to secure an evolution!' Carl thought happily as he looked around himself with a pleased expression.
Liu Xi was ecstatic after seeing Carl's pleased expression. Finally, someone who appreciates the true beauty of these magnificent runes.
Of course, if he knew that Carl was planning to use this place as his cultivation grounds... he would have second thoughts about not blasting the young cultivator to oblivion.
"Ok, I'm ready. If you want payment, you'll have it when I get back. Quickly transport me to the city outskirts." Carl said as he clasped his hands together with a smile. It's time to-
"Pay up now, do you think I'm a retard?" Liu Xi said with a frown as he glared at Carl, lifting up the cannon muzzle slightly. Does this moron want to rob him?
Liu Xi was about to fly into rage mode when a pouch of jingling coins crashed on his face, making him almost yelp in shock.
"There you go. Eat it if you want, I don't give a damn, but activate this piece of garbage lines before I use your face as my personal cleaning tool!" Carl spat out furiously as he glared at Liu Xi.
