Entwined Destinies: Demons & Dungeons

Dying at the near beginning of adulthood, our main character finds himself born in a futuristic version of his original world.   The times have changed, and with that, all the things that were theorized to happen in his old world have nearly all come to pass.   Deciding to focus on himself, he put his gaming addiction to rest and tried to become something. However, when a new game called Entwined Destinies came out that was essentially an almost new reality put into a game, he had to try it.   Streaming the game to a small audience, he rapidly grew when the Chaos and Daemons update dropped, as he was one of the most prized champions of the blood god!   His reign was short-lived, as his life was taken by someone who had broken into his house and killed him live on stream.   Now this weird screen sits in front of him.   [Please design a personality for your Demon King.] (Please keep in mind that no one gets a happy ending in 40K.) Chapter 16 - How To Obliterate The Competition

"Speech"

'Thoughts'

|<Future Sight>|

(First POV:)

[June 7th, 05:50:12, 2248]

"Alright then, next question." As I spoke, I began putting in my just-received status points. "What year is it?"

I put 13 in dexterity, to bring it up to 30, and I put 20 in strength to also bring it up to 30.

With the seven status points I had left, I put them into my mana.

"It is currently year 648." The black-haired, blue-eyed human woman spoke again.

"Is that so?" I took a moment of pause as I stared at the two now useless elves. "I see, tell me your name, human."

"My name is Minerva," Minerva said as she calmly waited for the next question.

Minerva seemed to be the main chunk of where the information lay. The other two could be said to be uselessly leeching off of her hard work in giving me information.

"Year 648... thank you for that, but that's not what I was asking for." I shook my head softly as I finished speaking.

Minerva and the two elves held horrified expressions at my words.

"Wha—What did you mean then?"

"I'm not asking for the year of this world; I'm asking for the year of your world. The month and day as well."

Minerva looked a little stunned and confused. Did she think an "NPC" in the game would never ask a question like this?

"It's obvious how your 'immortals' work. You have the body you're currently in as an avatar, while your real body is in another universe. The same way the outer gods do it." When I finished speaking, my face grew serious, and my whole demeanor changed to super-focused.

"Tell me the year, month, and day that your world is currently in."

At that, it seemed that Minerva could no longer deny my question without me giving her repercussions.

"It is 2248, June 7th."

"Was that so hard?" I gave another soft smile as I gave a glance to Dimoultion. "You answered another question, yet I couldn't help but notice that the other two decided to try and let you answer this alone."

It had been over a year since I died—an entire year before I was reincarnated.

Dimoultion promptly swung their sword and cut off the legs of one of the elves.

"AHHH—Why? I thought only one person needed to answer the questions."

The scream of one of the elven women sounded out as Dimoultion cut off her legs and put a foot down to stop her from squirming.

"You would be right," I said as I walked toward her and took the sword from Dimoultion. "But if she can answer all my questions, then what is the use for the rest of you?"

I put my extra increase in strength into the dropping of the sword on her neck, and almost instantly she turned into blue particles, causing the sword to embed itself a small amount into the ground.

Right as the woman died, the other elven woman tried to make a dash to the door to the second floor.

But Dimoultion was quicker, grabbing her by the neck with one arm and slamming her hard into the ground.

*Bang*

It wasn't the hardest slam the knight could make, but it wasn't supposed to be. The elven woman, now dangling and almost limp, was raised into the air.

Dimoultion walked back over to me, and I pulled the sword back. Thrusting forward, the tip of the sword went straight through the chest of the elven woman.

Her body turned into blue light particles an instant later.

[You have leveled up!]

I had another 50 unused skill points; quickly, I put 15 into endurance and 35 into health.

"Human Minerva, you are the last one." I handed the sword back to Dimoultion as I spoke. "I have one last question for you. What are the forces of chaos doing around the world at the moment?"

She paused for a moment as she seemed to strain while trying to remember.

"As far as I know, the forces of chaos have been secretive for the past few weeks, and ever since the death of the Blood God's first champion, they have toned down the number of times they scout their minion's potential." As she finished speaking, I nodded.

Kneeling to her level, I smiled as I motioned for her to rise with me.

"As promised, you're free to go." Demons deal in absolutes, and I kept my word.

As we slowly rose up together, her hands slowly went from her knees to the palm facing my direction.

Was she trying to give me a high-five or something? Or...

My assumptions seemed correct, as the hand in front of me quickly formed a magic circle faster than I could react.

'Gamers are so predict—'

*VVR—BOOM*

A wave of flames came out of the magic circle and instantly crashed into my head.

 [-148 (%85.03)]

'This fucking hurts! Oh, this is so much worse than being cut apart!' I thought as the wave of continuous flame burned the flesh off my face and neck.

Somehow, I think I was able to lift my hand enough for Dimoultion to understand that they shouldn't interfere.

 [-134 (%86.46)]

My face healed, burned, and healed over and over. When the wave of flame finally stopped, the armor on my body began retreating.

"Did I get him?" I heard the woman's prattle through the smoke.

Without saying anything, I brought my hands to the opposite sides of my body, close to my face. My fingers were tensing as my body changed color. Light blue to almost black, with my veins glowing with power.

*BOOM*

Skipping through all the multipliers immediately, wind pressure hit everything in the room so fast that the smoke in the room blasted away instantly.

Lightning danced on my form as I rushed forward the second I was able to. My mana was draining at 512 per second, and I needed to end this fight in the three seconds I would be given.

Second one: My fist had already connected to her face; the force and speed behind it not only shocked her but hit her so fast she couldn't defend herself.

Her body was sent flying back.

Second two—wait.

'She's already dead?!' I had instantly cut off my power right as she turned to blue particles, and my jaw hung open in shock.

I may have used times ten, but looking at the amount of experience I got from her, she must have been around level 121.

Then it hit me. I thought she was a swordswoman from the light armor, but she was actually a mage, and they tend to be pretty squishy.

"My day has been ruined," I whispered to myself in despair.

(Third POV:)

[June 7th, 05:58:51, 2248]

A man was currently walking through the woods, his skin being a dark shade of brown, and he was dressed in only civilian attire. A short-sleeved shirt and pants of the same dark color.

He was over six feet tall with a moderately handsome face and dark brown hair.

Suddenly, the man stopped walking as his ears twitched.

"Come out; there's no point in trying to hide." The man spoke as he turned around.

From behind a tree stepped out a man in dark clothes, his mask fully white with two dark fractures going up and down each eye.

"Well, I guess you're right." The man dressed in black spoke with confidence. "But you're 'Ace,' are you not?"

"Who's asking?" The tall man, now known as Ace, said as his expression grew serious.

"A friend," the masked man said as he threw something toward Ace. "I want to join the werewolf and vampire war."

Ace immediately caught what was thrown at him with no issue; looking at it, it was a vial. Using an appraisal on it, Ace's eyes widened.

"Can you make more of these?" Ace asked as he examined the vial further.

"Yeah, I can, but that depends on what your answer is." The masked man replied.

"Tch, fine, I can get you in if you can supply more of these," Ace said with an annoyed frown. "But if I'm going to work with you, you'll need to tell me your name."

The masked man nodded.

"The name's Dust..."

(A/N: I'll be cutting the chapter to 1.5k words or more from now on. In doing this I'm sure I can get more chapters out consistently.)
