Manager Liu Was Doubtful.

Zhao Yuhui coughed hard.

The question was too direct.

Only after Zhao Yuhui took a sip of water and calmed down did she realise how wrong was the timing of her cough.

She looked at Manager Liu and hurried to explain, "Ah, nothing like that! It already is quite difficult for my family to get the chance to be together during festive time and now that I have gotten it this year, I would like to spend it with my mother."

Manager Liu eyed her up and down as if trying to figure out everything.

"Nevertheless, you have decided the events, and I would accompany you in both because our main focus is to expand your connections."

That came more shocking to Zhao Yuhui. Manager Liu personally accompanying her would ensure a strong footing for her in the industry.

Although it indirectly meant taking advantage of her connections, Zhao Yuhui did not mind doing that after spending such a long time in the industry.

Zhao Yuhui knew sooner or later she would need to have somebody who could be her supporter. Moreover, having Manager Liu's name behind her would rather be fruitful for her.

First of all, Manager Liu was a female. No one could ever pinpoint at her chastity unless they believed in something else.

Secondly, nobody ever doubted Manager Liu's eye for talent. So people would only look at her with expectation instead of accusations.

"It would be my honour."

"Okay, now that we are done talking professionally...let's go personal. There are some things I need to be aware of you so that I could help you in future." Manager Liu paused and silently waited for Zhao Yuhui to give a sign of acknowledgement so that she could go ahead.

"Do you have a boyfriend? Or are you in any kind of relationship?"

Zhao Yuhui understood what she meant by 'any kind of relationship' and sincerely shook her head. "I have never been in any kind of relationship till now and also won't be for at least another few years."

"Do you know any big-shot personally or someone prestigious who could be said to have connections? It necessarily didn't need to be just within this industry."

The question was quite ironic. Had there been someone, it wouldn't have taken Zhao Yuhui three years of hardships to get here.

Even Manager Liu knew this.

"The most prestigious person in my contacts is only you, Sister Liu. Besides you, there is no one else."

Just as Zhao Yuhui finished her words, the secretary entered the cabin with a tray having two cups of steaming coffee.

Zhao Yuhui thanked her and diverted her attention back to Manager Liu whose eyes had zoomed in and a sharp glint was perceivable in them.

Zhao Yuhui knew she was thinking something.

Because the evaluation look on her face was too hard to ignore.

Zhao Yuhui didn't disrupt the silence and quietly sipped the coffee. After a while, Manager Liu put the cup of coffee on the table. "Did you know who the lady was yesterday?"

Zhao Yuhui's movements halted and her grip on the handle of the cup tightened. Even if she had anticipated the question, she still felt it was somehow unexpected.

After thinking for a while, she decided to answer truthfully. "I did not. Though later on, the shop assistant did tell us that she was the Old Stewardess of Qin's."

"That's right." Her eyes secured at Zhao Yuhui gave the notion as if she was trying to look across her. But then, a sense of serenity covered Manager Liu's face and she looked down. The corners of her lips turned up in a slight arc. "She is."

Wasn't she getting into too many coincidental accidents with them lately?

That's bad.

She would need to keep Zhao Yuhui's movements in check from now on.

Zhao Yuhui misinterpreted her expressions and opened her mouth. "About that..."

Manager Liu looked up at Zhao Yuhui who kept her cup down and was now sitting with her both hands placed on her knees. "About yesterday, I would like to apologise for causing trouble on both of our behalf. I know Chen Peiling's responsibility fell upon me and that's why what happened yesterday was my fault too."

She thought a lot about how she could put this in front of Sister Liu or if there was a need to give a detailed explanation. However, in the end, she simply decided to just go by a simple apology in case she ended up making things more messed up.

When she got into this company, Zhao Yuhui had specifically requested to let her bring her own assistant because she wasn't ready to part ways with her yet. Zhao Yuhui was sure that her request won't be granted but surprisingly, Manager Liu agreed to it and even made Chen Peiling the staff of Glimmer, so they won't have any problem in future.

So now whatever happened because of her, it would be upon her too.

"Thats an irrelevant matter."

Manager Liu noticed the blank look Zhao Yuhui gave upon her statement and spoke again. "We shouldn't bother our minds if Old Stewardess herself didn't say anything about the matter."

"Oh-okay."

Manager Liu noted the time from her wristwatch and stood up. Her hands instinctively went to clear the wrinkles on her pants. "I need to go. I will see you tomorrow evening."

Zhao Yuhui too got up from the couch. "Sure! It was nice meeting you for the first time."

Seeing she was taking her handbag, Manager Liu calmly said. "You can finish the coffee first."

"Ah-I am done! There is no need."

"My secretary is still here, you can finish it before going."

Manager Liu then proceeded to pick up some files from the table and exited the office.
