Chapter 4

Enkidu went home, however something caught his nose. The heavenly smell of ramen, his nose led him to a small shop as he walked in.

"Huh It's you?"/"Huh? YOU!"

Enkidu had found one of the investigators in the shop. "Don't worry, I'm not here to fight." Amon calmed down a bit but he still remembered the impossible scene that was etched into his mind. Chains coming from portals and the ground.

The ground shifting to his very will. The chains binding them almost to the point of crushing them. Enkidu looked at the menu before remembering the old days where he loved bread and beer. Back then he did not know what beer was nor did he know bread. He giggled thinking of the memories he had back in Uruk.

"Chef I'll have the chashu ramen!"

Amon looked at him weirdly as he let out a few giggles. Amon couldn't help but satisfy his curiosity, this person had come and introduced himself as Enkidu the chain of heavens from the Babylonian times. What was he thinking about?

"What are you laughing about?" Enkidu stopped and replied with a nostalgic smile "I used to be so clueless about living life until Gil and she came along." Amon took the information as he pieced the clues together "You mean Gil, as in King Gilgamesh?" Enkidu nodded his presence detection ensured that he would know if the chef was coming.

Enkidu stopped Amon from speaking any further as the chef walked back in. Enkidu smiled as he saw the steaming bowl in front of him. He broke his chopsticks as he dug in with all it's soupy glory.

Enkidu's eyes widened as it was far better than the bread in Uruk. Though his smiled became guilt as he swore that Gil would shout at him and boast about how Uruk's food was the best and none could best it.

Enkidu finished off the soup with a hearty smile, Amon looked at the clay with a weird gaze. He had been threatening them a few hours ago and here he was with a smile eating ramen. Enkidu sighed as he got up and left.

"Please don't do anything stupid. Especially that weird crazy pedophile old man."

Amon almost snickered at Enkidu's description of Mado. Nevertheless he kept a straight face as he nodded.

Enkidu stopped as random ghoul approached him from behind only to be stabbed in the stomach by a sword. The ghoul fell from the roof as he thudded to the ground chains rattled as they picked him up and bound while the chains started sizzling him in front of Enkidu.

Enkidu stared at him "What are you doing?" The ghoul stared at him before the chains tightened. He still did not talk Enkidu tightened the chains until a crack was heard. The ghoul finally relented as he shouted with a raspy throat "Fine! Please STOP!" The chains stopped as they stopped crushing him.

The ghoul dropped onto the ground unable to move while he struggled to hold in his scream. He had burns all over his body from the chains, he struggled to get out his words until Enkidu glared at him.

Fear powered his voice as he let loose a torrent of words "Some new ghoul recently appeared and took over a gang. He told us that there was an enemy he had to get rid of. You matched the description he gave us so I attacked you in thinking I might be able to climb the ranks." Enkidu grimaced, he should've kept his presence detection on whenever he fights. Even if it was against a human.

Enkidu asked one more question "Where can I find this ghoul and what can he do?" The ghoul replied fearfully "I don't know but he lives under the bridge in the river. He also mentioned that the method works just like the old story. I think he took inspiration from 3 Billy Goats Gruff."

Enkidu chuckled as something was interrupting the story from continuing normally. He should be finished in this world if he gets rid of the external influence.

Enkidu nodded as he left the ghoul there on the ground and started heading there as soon as possible. Enkidu arrived at the place as he heard the ghoul speaking "Hehe finally my second chance at life is paying off. Never knew that stories could help me grow stronger."

Enkidu's eyes widened as he wasn't sure about what he heard, that was until the ghoul spoke again. "Man this second life really has given me a golden finger. Who knew that I would gain more boosts in strength the more people I eat? Man I've got a 20% boost!" Enkidu had enough as he revealed himself.

The ghoul watched as footsteps were heard, a strand of hair blew into his view from the corner as he saw green? The ghoul looked as a figure wearing a white plain tunic and a necklace walked into view. He immediately recognised Enkidu as any educated weeb would know Enkidu.

The ghoul was on guard as Enkidu appeared. "May I know what you were talking about in your second life?" The ghoul stayed silent. "May I know what you are planning to do?" The ghoul answered this one "What I do is none of your business." Enkidu hardened his gaze as he decided to be blunt "I've been sent here as a sort of counter-guardian. Though hearing about your second life I can assume you're the external influence that's preventing a happy ending."

The ghoul without a word rushed at Enkidu only to be stopped by large trees. "Age of Babylon" The ghoul looked as the ground started producing spears, axes and swords, multiple portals opened as more green lighting crackled around them as Enkidu created more weapons to fire at the ghoul.

The ghoul dodged most of them however each hit gave the ghoul immense pain. Enkidu rushed in as the ghoul extended his kagune, a scorpion like stinger. The ghoul took advantage of Enkidu's speed as he lunged at Enkidu's head. However like most people he forgot that Enkidu could shape himself at will as Enkidu's hand was covered with mana as it blocked the attack by sharpening it into a knife.

The ghoul backed up only to receive a cut on his cheek. Enkidu kept on pressuring him as he backed even further. Enkidu smiled as more green lighting crackled around him as small gold portals opened behind the ghoul. Chains rattled as they pierced the ghoul from behind while burning his insides in the process.

Enkidu restrained him with more chains as he tightened him until he couldn't even move a finger.

"So tell me, what's this about a second life?"
