Chapter 3

A/N: This is like a summary of the days to the main event of the chapter.

Enkidu watched over Kaneki as he fought against Nishio. Enkidu thought that Kaneki was extremely brave and courageous. Even when he was hit and thrown to the ground he kept getting up, all for his friend.

"Friend."

"Friend huh? I wonder how Gil's doing now?"

"Achoo!"

"Some mongrel is talking behind my back. Yet for some reason it doesn't feel like a mongrel."

"Strange."

Enkidu opened the cafe door as the old man greeted him. "Hello I guess Kaneki's fine then?" The old man nodded as Enkidu ordered a coffee.

Two mysterious men turned up to the 20th ward as one of them spoke. "We haven't been here since the "owl" case, how nostalgic."

"We should hurry up and find the parent and child quickly."

"That's why we're here after all."

Enkidu starting coming to the cafe everyday sometimes to eat, sometimes to drink or maybe even sometimes to just talk.

Enkidu perked his ears up when he heard them talking about two investigators. Enkidu knew that to procure a happy ending he would have to at least save the parent and child.

Enkidu asked the old man if he could visit the parent and child for company as he was bored with nothing to do. The old man smiled and thanked him as the child had been in a sad mood and would love for someone to cheer her up.

Enkidu knocked on the door before a voice spoke "Come in." The little girl sat there with a sad face as the mother introduced herself as Ryouko. "Don't worry I don't know if the old man told you but I'm not human." Ryouko responded "No, I didn't know that, so you're also a ghoul?" Enkidu shook his head as he gave the same explanation as before.

He walked up to the little girl before asking for her name. "What's you name?" Enkidu's presence was warming, maybe because he was so in tune with nature. The little girl responded "Hinami." Enkidu smiled as he finally got somewhere.

"Hinami, do you like flowers?" Hinami nodded "well look at my magic trick." Enkidu moved his finger side to side before it slowly morphed into a rose. The girl looked slightly happy as Enkidu asked "What else do you like?" Hinami replied "Lilies" The rose on Enkidu's finger slowly became a water lily as he waved it around.

Enkidu smiled wondering if Gil would have done this in his place.

Enkidu looked at the time before he exclaimed "Oh it's a bit late. I'll have to go. Bye Bye!" His finger went back to its normal shape as he left. Hinami had a smile on her face by the time he left.

Enkidu walked home through the alleyway as it was his usual route. A ghoul attacked him from behind only to be pierced by multiple chains and crushed. Enkidu instinctively knew something was off. His chains seemed to be different as they burned the ghoul on touch.

Enkidu shook his head and headed back after stopping at a convenience store to purchase his new addiction, pocky. Enkidu went to sleep that night with a fulfilled sweet tooth.

Enkidu hadn't been to the zoo in a long time so he decided to visit the zoo. Surprisingly there were more animals than his old zoo. Enkidu would sometimes whisper in Animal Language and the animals would sometimes do funny things when they realised what type of person he was.

Enkidu started heading home as it rained. His smiled slowly faded as he became gloomy, he looked up and chuckled, the rain and dark sky was almost the same as when he died in Gil's arms. Oh how he hated Ishtar, that detestable goddess, nay, a Whore.

As he walked back he noticed Ryouko and Hinami facing two investigators. "Hello Ryouko and Hinami! What are you doing staying in the rain?"

Amon pulled out his badge as he shouted at Enkidu and everyone "Get away we're ghoul investigators, it's dangerous here!" Everyone scattered immediately except for Enkidu. Amon shouted at him 'What are you doing they're ghouls!" Enkidu smiled "I know and?"

Amon tensed "Are you a ghoul as well?" Enkidu smiled "Nope but I'm not human either!" The old crazed man asked "Then what are you?" Enkidu sighed as he had to repeat himself again.

"I'm clay, divine clay. Enkidu the chains of heaven."

The crazed man obviously didn't believe him. Enkidu sighed as he spoke "Sorry, I can't allow you to kill either of these ghouls." Amon shouted at him "They're ghouls!" Enkidu spoke once again.

"You see, they prefer not to kill people and I would feel saddened seeing the death of a mother and child in front of me so please don't. Otherwise you'll have to face against something that can bind even gods."

Enkidu whispered "Run" as the parent and child ran off.

Amon was thinking until the crazy old dude charged at Enkidu hoping to pass him. Enkidu simply looked at him before crackles of green electricity appeared as the ground shifted as the block of concrete hit the crazed old man back to Amon.

Small golden portals appeared as chains popped out. Amon and the crazed old man tried dodging but each time they dodged they would receive a small cut. Enkidu looked at them with boredom as the chains caught both of them.

Enkidu looked at both of them and spoke "I'm letting you two off the hook, however if I see you targeting them again. It's death for you."
