Chapter 17

This clay was half asleep and took out an entire demon boar horde while sleepy?! These thoughts swirled around in her head. Enkidu hopped back on the lion while Yu Mei followed suit.

The two eventually stopped as they camped for the night. Yu Mei was really intrigued when he pulled a sleeping mat? That was shaped like a green fish. Enkidu tucked himself into the mouth of the green fish sleeping mat until he realised he was being rude.

"Do you want one as well? It's very comfy." Yu Mei didn't want to impose more but her curiosity got the best of her. Enkidu stared at her for a solid two minutes before deciding on the colour.

Yu Mei watched as he handed her a black and red fish sleeping bag. The feeling was very soft and puffy like a cloud. "Thank You." Her thanks however went unheard as he was fast asleep. She was about to punch him but refrained from doing so after seeing a cute sight.

The green matched perfectly as his flowing green hair paired with the green fish shaped sleeping mat. She sighed before hoping into her own sleeping mat (Sleeping Bag). She needed to thank him for all he's done but he's an idiot.

Enkidu awoke as he got up and poked Yu Mei awake. "Wake up."

Poke Poke.

"Wake up."

Poke poke

A vein appeared on Yu Mei's head as she got up and shouted at him "Stop poking me!" Enkidu looked at her and gave her a beautiful smile.

Poke.

She was about to lose it until "Someone as beautiful as you shouldn't get angry you know. It'll only make you less attractive." Yu Mei scoffed but blushed "Says someone whose beauty literally transcends gender." Enkidu smiled sheepishly as he scratched his head. Well I'll be gone for a bit but if you need me just crush this gem.

He handed her a gem which would teleport him to her location if need be. Yu Mei was overwhelmed by his generosity but he really had no use for these types of items such as the time he ate the shiny red jewel from Gil's pile of gold and jewels.

Enkidu went exploring while Yu Mei gazed around until she found something horrifying, a dragon. Normally dragons do not attack humans or other creatures first but this one was berserk. There was no rationality in its eyes.

Yu Mei grabbed her two swords covered in flames. She dashed at the dragon hoping to find its reverse scale, the weakness. So far she had not found any clue as to where the reverse scale was.

It unleashed a breath attack of poison as Yu Mei covered her mouth. She would not use the gem as he had done enough for her, she did not want to rely on him for more as it would be disgraceful.

She leapt high into the air before slashing at the dragon only for her swords to bounce off. She clicked her tongue before trying for the belly only for the dragon to breathe poison around his stomach.

The dragon slashed at her just as she guarded with her swords. A shattering sound was heard as the swords broke apart into pieces. The flames on them slowly died out as the dragon took advantage and smashed her into the floor. She was scared and horrified at this point, maybe she should have just accepted his help.

She laughed as her pride would be her undoing. She kept crawling away from the dragon as it brung its claws down. Her last thoughts as she saw the claw was "Please anybody help." A shattering sound was heard as the incoming claw was restrained by golden chains.

"Looks like you called for me." Enkidu smiled as he put her to the side as she fell unconscious. His gentle smile was the last thing she saw before blacking out. He looked at the dragon as it was quite angry. The dragon thrashed around trying to rid its claw from the chains. Lightning crackled as many chains shot forward and surrounded the dragon leaving only a few holes where the chains pierced into the dragon scales.

Enkidu smiled as [Piercing] did its job. The chains retracted as spears formed from the earth as they floated in the air while crackling with lightning. The spears were filled with mana from the earth and Enkidu. He motioned his hand forward as the spears pierced the wounds left from the chains.

The dragon roared a bit before Enkidu stomped on the ground piercing a giant stalagmite into the dragon's skull. It thrashed once more before falling to the ground lifeless.

Enkidu sighed as he healed Yu Mei's wounds before lying her head on his lap to rest. She was hurt pretty badly with broken ribs, fractured arms and severe head trauma. Enkidu sung as the grass started growing in the areas around him while trees started forming and the area became lush.

He whistled as his lion came running towards him. Seeing the dead dragon filled the lion with joy as he thought "Heh big lizard is no match for the one of green. Get lost lizards!" Enkidu watched as she was trembling in her sleep, reminded of himself when he was alone at first.

He patted her head as she slightly calmed down. A warm blanket covered her as he rested his head on a lion. He whispered to the lion "Is this what Gil felt when he had something to protect?"

Flashes of him in Gil's arms as he crumbled to dust wondered if he experiencing the same thing.

He sighed as he wondered "Did Gil feel the same way when he lost me?" He continued patting her head until night had fallen.

"Where's Enkidu when you need him?!"

Romani scratched his head as he thought about the glitch in the rayshift.

"Don't worry he'll be back."
