The strange old Survivor

Her savior was pressed hard.

And her heart hurt at this. Just when she thought she had seen a glimmer of hope, things, once again were getting bleak for her.

Rose did not come from a put together family. Her mother left her father at her young age. And her father, well, he simply just had her for having sake.

Just because she did not have anywhere else to go. And oftentimes the reality of things were always present in her heart.

She was not yet capable enough to take care of herself when her father began skipping home. Sometimes, she'd have to beg from the neighbor who took pity on her to give her a meal.

The fear of abandonment ate deep within her heart for she worried that one day, her father would never come back home. This would mean that all the bills in the house, the responsibility would have to fall on her.

It was what pushed her to start working at Marvvs Tech Hub in the first place. It was what had boosted her confidence such that she could earn some living for herself so that she did not have to fear being left alone.

And even then, life has not gotten fair enough for her. Her first boyfriend ended up jilting her. The pain and the reality of abandonment made her a slave to his whims. Eventually when she had picked herself once again, she developed an intense hatred of the male gender.

So much so it would be appropriate enough to call her a misandrist. And that was fine, to her, as long as she did not act on it.

However right here in the mall, her whole idealism was shattered.

The one who she had even stuck on, to use as cannon fodder had had the chance to bail out on her. Yet, he came back for her.

The memory of the time outside the shop, when the youngster had gotten ahead burned bright in her conscience. She could recall the supple feeling in her hand when he reached for her, dragging her after him. And how even when they were down, still did look back to see that she was with him.

Now, he was having a fight for his life. And stupid her, she could not help him.

The realization bit harshly into her chest, sagging her knees of the strength to stand straight. She slumped with an audible gasp so loud that the zombie audience outside wanted to rush at her. Just that they did not act on it.

She wished in her heart that they did. There was no place in the world for the weak. And right now, the hopelessness of her situation was perplexing. She was weak and was scared. She was a loser.

The only thing she was good at was crying to the mercy of others. And even now, that mercy of the savior she had received in this master was going to be ripped right from her face.

She looked up with her tasty gaze, shamefacedly. Only to behold a monstrous looking Abbey eating her aaah with his red eyes. She gasped, whimpering in fear as she shuddered visibly.

Abbey leapt for her. Her heart doubled in beat. Her limbs cried to rise but the strength failed to show.

Tears raced down her eyes even as he reached for her. But then, the other bouncer stepped up, pulling him off his focus.

Scrambling back up, the only thoughts on her mind were how to get away from here. Had her savior gone mad?

The sickening look in his eyes, the saliva from his mouths sniffed the beastials growls he cried…

it frightened her exceedingly. So much so that when the bouncer infected intervened, she let go of her breath which she did not know how long she'd been holding it.

'You can't die here, Rose. Get out. At least, for the sake of the time he saved you, make do with this your life and live.' Her senses flared at her.

At the guide from her mental self, she found the will power to push. No, to scamper away.

Only those who had the power could push. She was a weakling and like all weaklings, she could only scamper away like the frightened being she was.

Her thoughts raged for her to take action. she followed suit, her mind pinpointing to her the location of the zombie audience. It seemed as though every other zombie within the Shopwell was stalled and watching the combat.

However, she could not tell when they would break out of their trance and attack her. So the lonely logical thing that popped in her mind was to hide behind the ice cream fridge. It was a table top and very long, it's back against the wall.

Or at least, it had some space before it and the wall. Staying there would be the perfect hideout for her, until she could figure out things.

Still as she left, the clashing combat behind her, guilt flogged her panic stricken heart now.

She was abandoning him. Like she had been abandoned too.

How was she any different from those who had abandoned her?

She wanted to go back and help. To call for him to come her way. But the reality of things wer so vivid, she could not do that.

For starters, the infected had targeted the boy. It did not come for her. To try to calm him to break free would only call the infected her way. That would only be a risky move.

Still, she wished to help, the desperation eating mercilessly into her brains. She hugged her knees now, sobbing and shuddering, biting down on her lower lip to muffle the cries.

But that did not last long. For right at that instant, the form of Abbey leapt over the ice cream freezer.

Rose gasped, jerking backward as his hands grabbed her by the shoulders, his expesssion that of a feral beast.

"No…no…" She whimpered just as he brought his tongue out, licking her neck and heaving uncontrollably l.

The tears she had tried to stifle then began to pour out freely. The cries she wanted to silence escaped her lips without control. She shook, shuddered as he gripped her so hard…

Kissing and licking the right side of her neck.

"Please… s-stop… a-stop!" She cried out futilely, trying to calm him down.

Anything to make him stop.

His lips reached down for her neck, sucking at her collar bone. Even the fact that she was sweat drenched did not stop him as he kept on, sucking and kissing.

"A-stop… p-please… s-stop…" She cried out weakly, doing her best to push him off her.

But Abbey was stronger. With one hand, he slapped off her contending hands, the pain of the smack resounding sharply in the hall.

Behind the freezer, at the entrance, the zombies perked their heads up in curiosity.

But when they could not decipher the silence of the sound, they focused back on what they didn't

Eating the remains of the bouncer infected with reckless abandon. Even tk the point o fighting themselves to get the better chunk of undead unhuman flesh.

Rose was oblivious to this.

She winced in the pain, her mind searching out in agony and sadness for how to stop the assault on her.

"P-please…. m-master… Master… stop!" She cried out firmly even as her back touched the ground, the raging form of Abbey right over her.

But at the sound of the word Master, the red light dimmed from his eyes and Abbey jerked back up with a shocked gasp.

But only for a minute.

SMASH!

The sound of something hitting human head shattered through the hall. And Abbey slumped on her body.

Rose gasped out in alarm, seeing the frail figure of a senior citizen, holding out his two hands clumped together in a fist.

He gave out every indication that he was the one who smacked Abbey's head.

But how? Rose wondered. How could an old man have the strength to knock out Abbey?

The same person who had been fighting toe to toe with a bouncer infected.

How?

Now, now, what’s this?
