"We'd like to take a few rooms, please." Estella handed three gold coins to the Inn Caretaker on the service corner.
The caretaker's eyes glistened at the sight of Gold. There was a bell on the counter, and the caretaker rung them. "Right away, Mademoiselle." she gave the brightest smile.
A lady about seventeen years old met Estella, "Mademoiselle, I'm Abigail Inn Caretaker. Please, right this way," she ushered Estella towards the stairs.
Koa and Helix were outside the Inn with the damaged carriage, protecting Gavin, the injured coachman, and Lawrence. Jane and Estella went inside the Inn to check if some abnormalities or threats may endanger the prince. There was a crowd of people on the first floor, drinking, laughing, and gambling. The place was rowdy but had a cheerful atmosphere.
None of the customers was rude to stare at Estella or Jane. They kept their selves on their businesses. Some even showing off their Inheritances, comparing and laughing.
The Inn had four floors. The most expensive floor was the fourth floor which had almost everything like noble rooms such as the private bathrooms, comfy beds, room balconies, even a private kitchen with your kitchen staff. Nobles who often visit the Valley of Winesap stay at the entrance to Winesap Village for a good rum and sleep.
Many nobles claimed lands of their own and built their manors or mansions in the Apple & Winesap Lands. But that said, nobles prestigious enough to do so. The Valley of Winesap was far from the City of Muelaemoar, one Estella and the knights passed by before arriving in Winesap Village.
"Shall we serve you dinner, Mademoiselle?" Abigail asked.
Estella nodded, "Bring enough dinner for ten."
Abigail smiled widely, "Right away, Mademoiselle." happy as a kid given candy. There weren't many nobles lately roaming the Winesap lands due to some perpetrators, so seeing some nobles made Abigail and the Inn Servants excited.
The whole floor was theirs for the night, "Go bring back the Prince here." Estella spoke.
Jane nodded, "Yes, Madam." then left down the stairs.
Estella entered the first room. It had a comfy bed and a chest for belongings, also a wardrobe and a table with chairs. There was a door leading to the balcony. Although it was the fourth floor, expert assassins could easily sneak in. She proceeded to another room.
Unlike the previous room, this room felt nobler and fancier. Like the earlier room, this room also has a door that leads to its balcony. The room also had thin walls, which is unsafe for shielding someone important. Estella shook her head and proceeded to the next room.
Unlike the two other rooms, this room was at the back left of the building. It had a balcony, but the tree on the outside was too far for assassins to reach. The walls were thicker than the previous rooms and had fancier furniture. "This could do," she mumbled to herself.
But she proceeded to see the last room on the back-right side of the building. This room was unlike the earlier one. It had three beds and had a table with four chairs. But unlike the other three rooms, this room had no balcony. This room was also the furthest from the other rooms.
Estella did not choose the last room. Instead, she chose the one before it. As soon as Estella left the fourth room, she met Jane- who carried Lawrence. She directed, "The last room on the hallway."
Jane nodded and advanced towards the room. Behind Jane were Koa and Helix carrying Gavin. She vocalized, "It seems although I've fastened his recovery, he remains unconscious."
"Indeed, Madam. Seargent had used too much of his energy and Inheritance. But I believe by tomorrow. He will wake to escort his highness back to St. Apple Villa." Koa replied.
Estella nodded, "Did you hear anything regarding perpetrators around the area?" she asked.
"Yes, Madam," Helix replied. "There were missing women and children. That said, it wasn't the Forest Trolls misdeed, but the Goblins."
"Forest Trolls and Goblins. Something about this does not add up." Estella spoke to herself. "We'll depart as early tomorrow. I haven't guaranteed whether my healing to his highness was absolute, but I would assume that he is severely injured. Find the best physician tonight."
Koa and Helix nodded and answered, "We will, Madam."
"Ah," she called out, "Before that, I've ordered our meal. Eat and regain some energy before leaving to find a physician."
Koa and Helix nodded, "Thank you, Madam."
Estella proceeded towards the hallway and into the third room. "How is he?" Estella asked Jane.
"Asleep, Madam," she answered.
Estella sighed in relief, "I'm glad." she answered. "Go to the room next to this. That is where you will eat. The kitchen staff must've finished preparing the food. But do bring me some in here," she ordered softly.
"Yes, Madam." Jane nodded and left the room.
Estella sat on a chair next to the bed Lawrence. She wore a sad smile. "I'm sorry I couldn't protect you, sweetie."
