Season 1; Against The Horrid Creatures And Won, But Scathed.

Lawrence stepped back. His face looked troubled, more hopeless. 'I'm weak. I understand that.' he thought. Then he fell on his back. He realized how he forced himself to stand up even though he was already weak. "Curse this body!" he spoke in his original tongue. He saw the creature from earlier, already charging with its two axes towards him.

He pushed himself up and threw the rock at the charging one. It caught it in his right palm, even though he was already holding a hammer. Lawrence clicked his tongue, "Tch!" he fell. He saw the underneath of the carriage and took the chance to roll under it. He saw the foe stop. It went to the side, this time, grinning.

Lawrence flinched, his face angry. The other people were still preoccupied. The guy from earlier was still having trouble fighting his only enemy that looked stronger than the others. The other two were finishing their last one, and Gavin had three left. There was no one to help him. There was no use rolling from side to side. Then he saw the enemy coming out of the right side of the carriage.

It looked amused. Hungry, too. Lawrence threw another rock on it, which angered the foe. It started charging, preparing for a strike. Lawrence held both of his hands to cover his face when he felt an enormous amount of pain in his stomach.

He kicked in the gut, felt his whole body floating onto a tree on his back. He spat blood and couldn't move. He was unconscious, head tilted to the right, blood underneath.

"Your highness!" Gavin called out. "Damn trolls!"

The forest troll was; ugly, tall as a human being, skin tone of orange, leather clothing with bone armor, has sharp ears, bulbous nose, four sticking out sharp teeth, and cyan-colored hair. It was a demon. But far too weak. Too small to be a threat. And strength comparable to two veteran knights. The Forest Troll was about to launch his attack on the prince, but Gavin charged towards it.

He focused his breathing, "Glyding Sword." Gavin's sword glistened silver. His eyes determined never to miss, sharpening his accuracy, clearing his vision, fastening his speed. Then he swung vertically..., and half of his arm cut off, flying off the air.

The Forest Troll screamed in agony. It fell on its knees. Before it could scream any longer, Gavin swung his sword, this time, aimed at his neck. Just like that, blood splattered all over his light armor. His eyes were blank, cold, dull. He turned back at Lawrence and ran towards him.

Gavin felt his pulse- his heart was beating. He felt relief. Gavin carefully turned Lawrence and place him in his arms. He opened the carriage and placed Lawrence on the seat. He then turned back at his companion, Koe, facing a red forest troll.

They were clashing their swords, and it looks like the red forest troll had the upper hand. Gavin stepped out of the carriage and held out his palm towards the red-troll, murmuring an incantation. "Thee shall follow my command. Converge, Collect, Manipulate. Bring life a dagger, floating, levitating, following thy's command." He created a dagger using the wind by gathering the air that surrounded his hand. It was so concentrated, the blade was visible.

He inhaled deeply, closing his eyes, then opened them. Gavin focused on the red forest troll then used his Inheritance to release the dagger he manifested with the wind and send it flying towards his foe. The red forest troll noticed the deadly attack and managed to avoid getting hit by it completely but losing its left arm in the process.

"Tch," Gavin clicked his tongue and drew his sword. "Koa, can you still fight?" he asked the knight.

Koa nodded, "Yes, Seargent!"

"We'll attack together. On my mark!" he paused, "1, 2..., 3," he didn't say go and immediately charged at the wounded foe.

It screamed a war cry, causing Koa to fall and cover his ears. Gavin readied his weapon and managed to inflict a deep wound on its chest but failed to kill it. It used its right arm and swung the ax towards Gavin as he countered it with his blade, but the troll's brute strength exceeded his, thus, pushing him backward.

The forest troll fell on its knees, panting but still glaring. Gavin took the opportunity to cut his head off. He stood abruptly and charged, "Glyding Speed." his movements amplifies as he readied his sword. He swung it. The red forest troll's head flew and fell on the ground, rolling, and its body falling, too.

Then other trolls started coming out of the trees, about 29 of them, all with orange skin tone. These were Intermediate Forest Trolls, not too strong, but still mightier than a plebian.

The Trolls surrounded them, standing still, waiting for an opportunity. The two other knights-other than Koa and Gavin-were finished dealing with their foes.

"We've come back, Seargent." Koa and Helix spoke in sync.

"Good," he paused. Gavin's face darkened, focused on the enemy's light movements, "Koa and Helix focus on the rear! Protect the carriage at all costs! Jane and I will deal with the enemies here. At least one should stay behind near the carriage. If you can, support Madam. Move!"

At the signal, Koa and Helix moved with no hesitation. There were at least seventeen forest trolls on the rear, and luckily all were ordinary orange tones.

Gavin signaled Jane to stay near the carriage. Jane nodded. Gavin prepares himself for deep, focused inhalation. He closed his eyes, focused, focused, and focused. There it was, the vibration he felt from his arch to sole, caused by running in the area. Gavin opened his eyes, saw the orange forest trolls running towards him.

"Glyding Sword, Charge Amplify." he was in a close-right stance, ready to strike. He waited for the foes to close the gap. A second passed..., another passed..., then another..., finally. One forest troll closed the distance between him and Gavin and readied to strike.

Gavin inhaled, then exhaled. He spoke in under his breath, "Release...," it was smooth, too soft to hear. Then his sword swung, swung too fast for Jane's eyes to keep up. Then, the leaping forest troll cut in half, had its two bodies bleeding down the ground. Gavin's stance changed to low.

He was panting slightly, and sweat ran down his forehead. Then another forest troll came leaping towards him, "Release...," he mumbled once again, cutting another one in half. His stance changed again to close left, where his sword grip leveled his waist.

"Release...," he mumbled. This time, instead of swinging, he pierced his sword towards the heart of another forest troll. He was a killing machine, but with a limit, of course. His panting became unsteady. Gavin stepped backward. He changed his stance to the back left, where his sword pointed the ground behind him.

"Release!" he swung his sword three times, killing five forest trolls at once but failing to steady his balance.

"Seargent!" Jane called, raising her voice. "Let me help you!" she demanded.

"Stay back!" Gavin pushed his body up off the ground with his sword. He performed another stance, hanging right, where his sword grip is above his head and sword point pointing slantways towards the ground. "Maximum Release!" Gavin shouted and moved smoothly, his footwork too fast to see. He passed eight forest trolls and cut their heads off, leaving thirteen more forest trolls left.

Gavin fell on his knees and coughed blood. Before he could regain his stature -standing up- a forest troll was already upfront of him, ready to slash. Gavin sighed and stooped and closed his eyes, anticipating his death.

"As I thought!" Jane shouted. "The moment you lose momentum and endurance. You recklessly lose your cool and start making mistakes, injuring your internal spiritual veins!"

"But I don't understand why you would stoop and prepare for your death!" she added. "I'll take care of what remains, Seargent! Leave these thirteen ugly bastards to me!"

Gavin smirked, "I'll cheer you on in the back." (This meant that he was going to use his Inheritance to attack from the back)

"No." Jane shot him a glare, "Do not use your Inheritance, Gavin. You will use too much energy!"

Gavin stood, but he was holding his sword to support his trembling legs. "I can control the flow of my Inheritance. I'll stop attacking you once I die." he moved like a cripple towards the carriage.

"Stubborn bastard!" Jane returned her gaze at the forest troll she stopped. She used her brute force to push the foe away. Before she could regain her stance, the other forest trolls were already leaping towards her.

"Shit!" she mumbled.

"Thou shall move in thy's command. A strong gale shall move thy's enemies, oh great wind!"

A great wind blasted the forest trolls away from Jane, then followed by floating water spikes that pierced the heart of all the foes. Gavin and Jane abruptly turned to look behind them and saw Estella panting, holding both of her knees. She wiped her sweat off, "Are you guys alright?"

"Madam," Gavin called, then fell to the ground. He was unconscious.
