Never alone

I look at his hand that he has lifted up to stop me from coming closer. I can see that his hand is shaking. I can hear that he does not mean what he is saying. I can hear that he wants me with him. I know that this is not him talking.

The man that I got to know on the date was much different than the man lying in this bed. I guess not everyone would have known the change in a man when he lies on a hospital bed but I know. I have seen many patients that were close to death that just completely change.

They think that it is better if they push their loved ones away because they do not want them to hurt too. That is probably the reason why he sent me a message to break up with me.

I walk closer and then he shouts.

"No! I said no!"
