Chapter 2: The Strange Man.

  "I miss you so much, when are you coming back?" I ask Jane who was on a business trip with her boss over the phone ,"awwwn its nice to know that someone misses me , anyways fortunately for you I will be back by tomorrow night so you better make my favorite meal available for me when I get home" Jane said and I laughed. "Your wish is my command my queen".

 "How are you coping without me?" Jane asked playfully and I laughed "you really rate yourself in high esteem , anyways I am good I just really miss Ezekiel" I told her sounding a bit upset. "ohh, If you miss him that much just call him or go to his place" Jane stated .

 "I would have done just that but he is always working, his new job is too demanding ,he is always stressed out and barely has enough time for himself" I explained , "wait.... Katy you mean to tell me that Ezekiel has not come to see you since his celebratory dinner?" Jane asked and I could sense a bit of irritation in her voice. "Honestly , it's not his fault , he has soo much on his plate " I tried to explain to Jane. "You are always trying to make excuses for him, I don't want to meddle so I won't talk about it anymore" Jane said and we changed the topic of our conversation , we talked for about 30 more minutes before we ended the call.

 Author's POV.

 "Finally it's the weekend ,I'm so exhausted. As much as I love the money, I am glad I don't have any makeup appointment for this weekend, I need a relaxing hot bath, hot wings and most importantly I need to get laid to recover from the struggle of this week" Jane said to to Katy as she laid on the bed immediately she got home from work.

 "You horny b*tch, you better get your ass up and do the laundry" Katy said as she threw a pillow at Jane who was laying on the bed.

"Do you always have to be a killer Joy? Anyways, I was thinking.. Why don't we go out tonight to unwind?" Jane asked as she stood up to hold Katy's hands while trying to acting cute.

 "You know how much I hate going to the club, why do you still want to put me through that?" Katy asked before removing her hands Jane's hands and headed for the bathroom but Jane was persistent so she went into the bathroom with her.

 "Come one Katy, I know you've being bumped about missing Ezekiel, I just want you to loosen up a bit" she said sounding really persistent. Katy who was in the shower began to think about it, It was already a month since Ezekiel got his new Job and she still hasn't had a decent conversation with him nor seen him. He never called or texted her first and whenever she calls he either doesn't pick or when he does he has not excuse why they can't talk, she was honestly tired of the whole situation with Ezekiel she wished they could be like other couples, she probably needs to unwind.

 "Katy! Katharina!.. Why are you quiet? Don't tell you You are using your silence as a means to run away from this conversation" , Jane called out to Katy who was lost in her own world but she didn't know that because of the bathtub curtain that separated them.

 Katy who was lost in her thought came back to the present when she heard Jane's voice calling out to her." How bout we go next weekend I have a party to plan tomorrow so this week won't do." Katy replied.

 "Why don't you think...waittt..... Did I just hear you just say you would come with me next week?" Jane asked, "Yes ma'am, I said I would go with you" she said and Jane immediately screamed "finally my best friend has decided to loosen up", when Katy heard this she laughed.

 It was day 36 of Katy not seeing or talking to her boyfriend, it was bad enough that Ezekiel would only reply to a few of her texts before or 2 out of 5 of her calls to him to say he was busy but for the past 5 days he hasn't even replied her text neither had he picked her calls or reply to her voicemails, it was like he had completely ghosted her.

 On getting home from work on a Thursday evening Katherine decided to cook something relaxing and pay Ezekiel a visit to surprise him, she planned to go there to know if he was okay so they sought things out since she had tomorrow as a day off.

 She prepared his favorite, pasta and bought a bottle of his favorite wine and headed for his apartment, since she didn't have a spare key neither did she know his pass code she was hoping someone will be at home to receive her or she would have to stay under the cold waiting for him since he had told her that he works late everyday.

 On getting there she noticed his car was parked outside his apartment, "thank goodness he is home" she said to herself happily before pressing the door bell, after waiting for about 10 minutes without anyone coming out she pressed it a few more times but still didn't get any response.

 Katy was about to leave when she decided to try opening the door, she pushed it and discovered it was opened, "Why did Ezekiel forget to lock the door?" she thought before walking in. On walking in she noticed that the house seemed empty, it did not seem like anyone was at home so she dropped the wine and food thermos in the kitchen she was about to call Ezekiel's to find out where he was hopping he would pick up when she noticed his tie on the floor, she knew it was his because she got it for him.

 "He is probably home already and was too tired so he fell asleep, that explains why the door was opened" she thought with a smile on her face as she picked up the tie and walked towards his room to check on him. On her way to his room she starts to hear heaving breathings and some strange sounds coming from his room and on getting closer the sound became distinct, Katherine suddenly went stiff and she immediately felt hot all over her chest, she wasn't a child she knew exactly what sound she was hearing. Her eyes were suddenly filled with tears and unbelief.

 Katharine wanted to make sure she wasn't misjudging the situation, she didn't want to just assume, so she summoned courage to find out what was really going on, she made an attempt to push the door, her hands were suddenly shaky and wet she prayed to the heavens that everything she was hearing was a lie.

 Nothing had prepared her for the sight that beheld her when she pushed the door open, "Why was her boyfriend in bed with the lady he had introduced to her as his cousin?, do cousins do this?" she asked with tears already flowing down her cheeks.

The shameless couple were so involved in their activity that they didn't notice someone had walked in until they heard someone crying. Ezekiel was a bit taken aback when he heard her voice but only for a moment before he went back to what he was doing, the lady who was his supposed "cousin" looked at her with a mocking smile and began to moan really loudly so as to piss her off.

 Katherine couldn't bear to look at the disgusting scene before her anymore and turned to leave, she was about closing the door behind her when she heard Ezekiel's voice.

"Oh come on Katy, this is all your fault, if only you had let me f*ck you then this would not have being happening. Whey don't you stay and take some lessons on how to please your man and once you are ready we could give this relationship another chance" he said and laughed.

 "When did Ezekiel become so disgusting?, I thought he said he loved me, was this what love looked like? How long has all these being happening right under my nose without my knowledge?, How was a such a fool for a really long time" all these thoughts and many more were going those Katy's head as she walked down the dark street , she was so lost in thought that she didn't realize it was raining heavily.

Meanwhile, a black 2023 BMW x10 limited edition was driving through when the young man driving noticed someone walking on the middle of the road without an umbrella," why is everyone trying to get on my nerves tonight" he thought and honked really loud but despite his many attempts this person wasn't making an attempt to leave the way.

When he got closer he noticed it was a young girl, he also noticed that this girl was not conscious so he increased his head light and honked loudly and that seemed to have gotten her attention because she looked back at him, gave a little bow to apologize and moved to the side of the road.

Looking at those sad eyes, it looked lifeless, it moved something in him and for the first time in a really long while he had this urge in his heart to help "I don't want to get involved" he said to himself and drove past her. 

 After driving for about 5 minutes ," Cazzo! (sh*t) here goes nothing" he cussed loudly and made a U-turn, when he finally saw her, he noticed two men trying to drag her into their car and they didn't seem to know her so he immediately got down to help.

 They were elderly and seemed to be drunk so he didn't have to do much, he just grabbed them by their necks and jammed their heads together which made them loose consciousness. The young girl was so scared and was still in shock "come let me drop you home" he said and before she could say anything she passed out. He quickly caught her," how can you pass out when you are surrounded by strangers you really have no sense of awareness" he said as he carried her princess style towards the car, he placed her in the passenger front seat ,adjusted the chair so she would be comfortable before going to the driver's seat and he drove away.

 "Madonna santa!(Good God) , why does my head hurt so much?" Katy asked immediately she woke up, when she finally opened her eyes, she realized she was in a very unfamiliar room and quickly sat up.

 "Don't do that, you will hurt yourself, you still aren't well, you should lay down. " she heard an unfamiliar voice say, she looked at the direction of the voice and she was suddenly dumbfounded. "I am most definitely dead and in heaven, or else why would such a fine man descend to earth, he is more perfect than angels" Katy thought.

 "Emmmm, who are you and how did I get here?" Katy finally brought herself to asked the strange man, "Lay back down and we'll talk okay" he said, it's probably something about his voice that compels people to obey him she wasn't sure but she found herself listening to him.

 "It looks to me that you don't remember a thing from yesterday but don't stress yourself I will tell you but first you should eat since you have been sleeping for quite a long time, 17hours is a long time to go without food" he said.

 "17hours? Dio Santo! (oh my God) please can I get my phone? My friend must be worried" Katy said trying to get up.

 "I told you not to do that, you still have a little fever plus you shouldn't worry about your friend, she called several time yesterday night so I had to pick up and I explained to her what had happened" the strange man said . He the intercom ordering someone to come in and not long two ladies dressed in uniforms led by a man who looked to be a butler came in with a food trolley and the aroma of the food instantly filled the air.

 After the meal was laid out on the mini dinning table by the maids, they are bowed and left, while all these was going on Katy could only stare in awe, she had only seen such things in the movies . She had looked around the room earlier and thought they were at a private suite in one of those 5 star hotels that she had worked in as a cleaner in the past but seeing the maids she ,she looked around again and noticed a picture of the man on the wall, it then dawned on her that she was in this man's house and if this was his house , then it was most definitely his room and if this was his room then she was at his house that means he was really wealthy. With these thought in mind she screamed in her mind, unknown to her the said strange man was beginning to doubt that she was mentally stable because of how quick her facial expressions were changing.

 "Can you walk to the table or you want me to bring the food to the bed for you" he asked her and she shook her head "ohh no it's fine I can walk "she said not wanting the stain such expensive white bedsheet and blanket . As she walked towards the table she looked down and suddenly something registered in her head, she mentally screamed and looked at the strange man with looks that could kill.
