Alyssane staggered back.
She lightly touched her forehead, it felt like the world had lost its footing. The shadow of an excruciating pain gnawed over his heart, cruel and suffocating.
And it was like all the sounds had vanished.
She could hear nothing.
The deafening silence closed around her like a shroud. The glimpse of her world dimmed and for a moment, she was once again in the emptiness―inside a void that stretched out before her, endless and unfathomable, leaving her lost and alone.
But then there was a rough hand around her arm, and like waters crashing down from a dam, everything flooded back―her vision, her senses, as well as the world itself.
"You are not in the right place."
A cryptic whisper caressed her neck.
Alyssane recoiled slightly, but the old woman's grip was too strong on her arm, "What do you mean?" Alyssane could hardly speak.
