Lack of Responsibility

Natalia is surprised by the sheer power behind Emilia's attack. The rapier Natalia held is split into two. Although is a wooden rapier, is sturdy and clothed with her mana. It should be as hard as an iron. But the fact Emilia manage to split it into two is really unexpected. The way Emilia handles a sword is actually quite clumsy. Natalia has yet to teach her how to swing a sword. But she has already learned how to clothe her sword with mana from Tilea. Even if she only swings her sword haphazardly, it still will be deathly if a normal average person meets the strike. Normally, when someone just learns mana clothing on a sword, it will dissipate quickly. The Sword that is clothed by an amateur also will not be as hard as iron, only made the sword a little bit hard. Emilia who only learns mana clothing on another amateur immediately masters the technique to the point making a wooden sword can cut through iron. That's how impressive Emilia has done.

Natalia could at any point defeat Emilia if she wanted to, but she chose to drag the fight longer. She could dodge every Emilia's attack with minimum movement, but she chose to parry every attack to guide Emilia's sword. She considers all of this for Emilia. But She forgot to consider one thing...

"Emilia!!"

Emilia is currently only two years old toddler.

Natalia catches Emilia before she touches the ground. Twice in a row, from doing sword training, accidents happen that lead to Emilia fainting.

"Emilia, are you okay!!... wake up... Talk to mommy." Said Natalia while shaking Emilia's body.

Tilea is also worried about her little sister. Her hand is shaking looking at Emilia. The two just promise not to repeat what happen before. And yet here, the incident repeated not long after Emilia recover.

"Tilea, tell the servant to call the doctor. I'll carry Emilia to her room!." Said Natalia.

Without saying a single word, Tilea then ran to the nearest servant available. But not long after that...

"What's with all the commotion here!!." A man's voice could be heard.

The man is non-other than Louis, The Duke of Lorena.

"Dear..." Said Natalia weakly.

Upon hearing his wife's voice, he looks in her direction. He sees Emilia laying unconscious in her hand. He frowns and is shocked at the same time.

"Natalia, what did I say about letting Emilia train with sword?." Said Louis.

Natalia did not answer but just look down.

"...I know is my fault... I'll explain..."

Louis cute her out and says with rages "... Explain what!!. The fact that you disobeyed me and let our dear daughter that only two years old practicing swordsmanship!!."

"I said, I'll explain... but first we need to bring Emilia to her room and wait for the doctor to arrive!." Said Natalia who began to show some anger.

"You're right... we'll talk about this later." Louis then calms his rage.

Emilia finally laying down in her bed. Louis and Natalia are standing near Emilia awkwardly silent without saying a word. Tilea is also there sensing the unpleasant atmosphere between her parents. She wants to ease the atmosphere but doesn't have the courage to. She doesn't know what to do. After all, she's just a child. The silence is too uncomfortable for Tilea. She wishes the doctor will arrive at this very moment.

As if her prayer gets answered, the doctor finally arrives. Louis and Natalia urge the doctor to take a look at Emilia. The doctor then takes Emilia's pulse and does some magic diagnoses here and there.

"The young miss is alright. She's just exhausted from losing a portion of her mana. I suggest letting her rest for maybe a week or two. Otherwise, it would be lethal if something like this happens the third time in a row."

Upon hearing the doctor's diagnosis, Louis sends a glare at Natalia.

He then says to Natalia. "I know how stubborn you are... But let Emilia rest. At least until Viani comeback from her errand. Understand!!." Then proceed to leave Emilia's room.

"Then, excuse me as well." Said the doctor, who in turn also leave the room. Leaving Natalia and Tilea alone.

Natalia then looks at Tilea then says. "Tilea... what happened today is completely my fault. You don't have to blame yourself for what happened."

Tilea just stays silent and looks at Emilia. The absence of a response from Tilea made Natalia worry if Tilea began to hate her. She then just sit beside Emilia without saying anything.

A day later, in a room, Emilia woke up from her slumber. On her right and left, his mother and sister were still asleep. Since yesterday's incident, Natalia and Tilea had not left the room at all. The servants were worried that it would be like this for a long period of time, but they couldn't do anything about it. At dinner, the maids brought the dishes directly to the room. But the two mothers and child did not touch the food in the slightish.

Louis had no time to worry about the two of them. Tomorrow is an important day and he would be busy. Louis prioritizes his duty rather than his family. Natalia is well aware of his way of thinking and doesn't want to bring up trivial matters. And so the previous days passed.

Emilia didn't wake her sister and mother. She let them continue their sleep. Emilia looks around her room, she was looking for a figure who should already be in the room. But he didn't see the figure at all. Emilia called out the figure's name.

"Viani?.."

But there is no answer. Emilia then got off her bed. She keeps calling Viani's name with her soft voice. But still no answer. Then a knocking sound is heard from the door.

"Viani!!..." Said, Emilia Excitedly.

Emilia thought the old maid who entered is Viani, but unfortunately, the maid is not Viani.

"Ah young miss, you've finally woken up!... Miss, you should lie down first..." Before the maid could finish her words, Emilia interrupted.

"Where's Viani?!..."

The old maid then came into the room and put the food under it on the table near the bed.

"Viani is currently not in the mansion young miss, Madame sends her on an errand," said the old maid.

Emilia is silent for a moment, then “...is that so?..”

She then left the room.

"Young miss!!...where are you going!.."

Emilia ignored the old maid's words and ran outside the room. In front of the door, a young maid bringing the breakfast is startled to see Emilia running out of the room. She almost drops the entire breakfast meal because of it. But Emilia didn't even bother to say a word toward the young maid. She only cares about books as she runs toward the library.
