Eccentric Mother

After Emilia is done learning magic from Viani, she continues to demand reading magic grimoire. But quickly prohibited by Viani. Even if she insists and cry out loud, Viani didn't budge and just stand there in silence. In the end, Emilia gives up and proceeds to read a regular book. That's her plan that is. Natalia, Emilia's mother suddenly barge into the library and take Emilia away. Viani, who is just a maid has no way to prevent the madam of the house from taking her own daughter. So, she just stood there watching the whole ordeal.

Natalia then took Emilia into the backyard. There, Tilea could be seen swinging a sword. When Tilea saw her mother and sister coming, she quickly put her sword into the scabbard.

"Mother?? why did you bring Emilia here," Tilea said.

“Fufufu… today Emilia will join us in practicing swordsmanship,” Natalia said.

"Ah.. but mother, isn't it too early for Emilia to join in sword training? And again, it seems Emilia is very much against the idea" Tilea said.

Emilia from the beginning hit her mother while saying "Put me down!! I want to read in the library!! Put me down!!" While crying.

Natalia, who sees Emilia in a tantrum the says "Emilia do you hate mom?"

Emilia then stopped hitting and said " No, I don't hate you, I really love you. But now I just want to go back to the library!!"

Tilea then sighs and says "Why did you force Emilia to come here??"

"Well... why not?. Magic is not the only thing Emilia can learn right?." Said Natalia.

Natalia continues "So yeah... Emilia... do you want to practice swordsmanship with your sister??"

"Noo!! I just want to read a book!!" Emilia said.

“Emilia, how about you sit there and watch me and mom sword fighting,” Tilea said with a smile.

Emilia just nodded and immediately sat down where Tilea pointed.

"I think it's too early to get her to practice swordsmanship right away," Natalia said.

"Of course my dear mother... Emilia is only two years old!!" Tilea said.

“That came out of the mouth of a girl who had swung a wooden sword at the age of one…fufufu,” Natalia said.

"That's because I like it very much and I am not being forced.... now... LET'S BEGIN!!"

Tilea launched a surprise attack, but of course, Natalia had already seen the arrival of the surprise attack. With a speed that the eye couldn't follow, Natalia pulled out her sword and blocked Tilea's attack with ease.

Natalia then turned her body three hundred and sixty degrees and counterattacked. Diagonal slash, horizontal then stab attack. Two of the attacks were blocked with the sword, but Tilea's third attack had to dodge it. For a counterattack, Tilea gathered the mana in her two hands. Tilea's sword then shone with a bluish light. Emilia who saw Tilea's sword shining let out a *Waaa* sound indicating that she was very impressed by what she saw. Tilea's attention then turned to her sister, Emilia.

"When fighting, never take your attention away from your opponent!!" Natalia said.

Instantly Tilea's sword was thrown from her hand. Tilea then saw her sword stuck in the ground.

"Still need a lot of practice, Tilea," Natalia said as she pointed a sword at Tilea's neck.

Seeing the sword that was pointed at her so close, Tilea was about to step back, but what happened next was that she fell and landed on her butt.

“U..wah…ugh… did you bring Emilia here to distract me?!” Tilea said while crying.

“Fufufu… maybe yes, maybe not,” Natalia said with a small laugh.

Natalia then put her sword back into its scabbard, then turned to Emilia and said.

"Emilia, are you now interested in practicing swordsmanship??" Ask Natalia.

Emilia then ran over to her sister with a big smile. If you look at Emilia's face now, that sad expression and teary eyes just now were like an illusion that didn't happen.

"Sister!, how can you make your sword shine?!" Emilia said with excitement.

“Ah… that… I used magic to amplify my attacks” Tilea said.

"Can you teach me that magic?" Emilia said.

"Eeeh??...teach you??."

Tilea looked at her mother with a confused expression. Natalia just chuckled then said.

"I guess I'll let you two play together...fufufu... I'll go see your father first."

Natalia then left the backyard and headed to her husband, Louis Lorena's room.

Tilea shouted to her mother "Eh... Mom!! Are you sure?!!!"

But Natalia pretended not to hear the screams.

Sometime later after Natalia left.

"Try to focus all the mana in your body on your hands now," Tilea said.

Currently, Emilia was holding a wooden sword that was longer than her height.

Emilia was really trying hard to focus the mana into her hands.

"Eh, Emilia!.. y..you can stop now!!" Tilea sensed something amiss from the mana Emilia was focusing on.

"Emilia, you... that's too much... just a little!!, don't..."

Before Tilea could finish her words, a mana explosion occurred. Scattered dust and sand then make the view obstructed.

"EMILIA!!"

Tilea then ran towards where Emilia was. But as she approached, Tilea slowed down due to the dust and sand getting in the way.

"Emilia!! are you okay?!"

There was no answer from Emilia. Tilea was really very worried about losing her only sister.

"Emilia!"

The dust and sand then slowly fell to the ground and made the view unobstructed.

"I'm fine, sister" Emilia said.

After the dust and sand disappeared, Tilea could see that Emilia was fine. Not only that, the wooden sword Emilia was holding just now shattered into pieces.

"Emilia?...you.."

Several transparent blue shields were seen surrounding Emilia's body.

"You can create a magic shield??" Tilea said.

Emilia shook her head.
