The days passed slowly for Sam. With each morning being the same routine. Absorbing mana, training his body and honing his skills with his longsword.

As Sam practiced his movement with the sword, he couldn't help but feel frustrated. His body did become stronger than previous but he was stuck in front of a wall. A wall he didn't know how to overcome.

Days are passing by and the entrance exam is coming. Sam needed to grow stronger and he needed to overcome the wall that was holding him back.

Three weeks have passed since Sam came to this jungle.

During the three weeks he trained, he hunted many monsters. But sadly he didn't advance much.

Crack!!

Rumble!!

Life was slow for Sam now. Right now he is sitting in front of his campfire and he could hear the thunderstorm that was happening outside.

"Looks like I won't be going outside today."

Sigh!!

I was disappointed. I haven't improved much in the past week. I was stuck, I needed to find some way.

My strength, agility, and endurance increased by a minor rank. I haven't advanced to F rank yet. Three weeks already passed since I entered this jungle. During this time I did gain quite a bit of experience from hunting monsters. But my overall power was weak. I need something.

Sigh!!

I closed my eyes. I could hear the thunder cracking outside of my cavern.

"What if…"

The thunderstorm outside gave me an idea. For the past three weeks I only tried everything physically, so now let's try something else.

I had a dual class, one was mage and the other was support. Support can't directly fight but the mage can.

A mage uses magic, spells and skill. I didn't have any spells or skills for my mage class.

I didn't even know about any spells, so I couldn't create them.

But, what I can create is techniques. From my knowledge, I know battle arts have techniques depending on the art grade. I didn't have any battle arts but I can surely create some techniques.

There were many fictional books in my previous world and those tell about many kinds of power. But that fiction is real here.

"Let's create some techniques."

I knew how to use lightning. From my experience of using it, I realized something about using an affinity, the most important thing was imagination. Affinity and mana depend on imagination a lot. So I will use my imagination.

First my mana art Celestial Veil. Which was at thirty percent, it allowed me to create a protective barrier around me.

What if I tried it to mix with my lightning?

I sat cross-legged on the ground and thought about it.

Lightning is a higher power than fire. Where fire burns everything slowly, lightning does it extremely fast. I concentrated, and soon I felt a surge of exhilaration and power coursing through my body, accompanied by a sense of electrifying energy. With a tingling sensation that heightened my awareness.

Unlike the time, when I concentrated this feeling on my palm this time, I let go freely and concentrated on my entire body.

Soon small lightning sparks appeared around Sam's body. The lightning started to burn Sam's skin.

Ahh!!

I had to hold onto this pain. I started to guide my mana around my entire body. Soon lightning followed it. I created a path with mana and lightning followed the path.

Mana and lightning were like a river. If you try to control it, then it becomes near impossible, but if you create a path it will follow it and it becomes easy to control the water.

I mixed it with my mana art and tried it.

After many tries lightning manifested around Sam's body, there were faint, crackling sparks of electricity dancing across his entire body. It resembled miniature bolts of lightning.

I opened my eyes and I could see many sparks going around my body.

"It's a success!!"

After many tries, I did it. I covered my entire body with lightning. Unlike my mana art which creates a barrier around me and helps with my mana regeneration and spells this one can be used for both offensive and defensive.

"What should I call it?"

Hmmm.

"Lightning Veil"

I will call it Lightning Veil.

I stopped using Lightning Veil. It is an upgraded version of my mana art. It also drains my mana like crazy. I can't use it for a long time.

Lightning Veil creates a defensive barrier around me, which is stronger than the barrier my mana art creates. I can use it offensively. It increases my physical powers. From the looks of it also doubles my attack power, I can feel a lot more power than before.

Huh!!

Looks like I can create techniques.

Before I could be happy about my success. A screen came in front of my eyes, something I hadn't seen after my soul got merged with the previous Sam. Notifications came in front of my eyes and a huge amount of information regarding the spell entered my head.

Was learning spells an easy task?

The answer is no.

Learning spells was not easy. To learn a spell one must know necessary gestures, incantations, and focus.

Additionally, they must also know the underlying principles, whether it's elemental magic, incantations, or symbolic representations.

Even after this one must practice with patience to learn a spell. Unless one is an archmage or a prodigy they can't learn spells easily.

Because of Sam's high intelligence stat, he skipped some steps and directly created a spell for him.

Sam didn't know because his soul was merged, many shackles weren't placed on him. He didn't know he was an anomaly in this world.

As Sam started to delve deeper into the mysteries of lightning and magic, he continued to expand his knowledge and pushed the boundaries of what was thought to be impossible in his previous world. With each discovery, Sam started to forge his unique path.
