23: Conditions

Then he rushes at her with his max speed while analysing her weak points. 'Damn, I can't find any weak points on her.' Seraphina notices it and leaves a weak point purposefully as to see what Kei will do.

After noticing a weak point at her he immediately immediately thrusts at her. She could easily read it and she deflected it with her Mana blade. Kei isn't disheartened by it and rotates his body to dodge the Mana blade which was aimed at him and he himself creates a Mana imitation of the katana which floats in the air. 'I don't know if it will work or not but Fuck it! It is just a duel and she can handle it if it succeds.' Kei then spits acid on the Mana imitation and slices it at Seraphina. Seraphina and Vector's eyes widen at the scene. They never expected Kei to be so strong.

Seraphina quickly makes two fire walls and creates a huge Mana blade to defend herself. As soon as the Mana imitation hits the fire wall, there is a huge shockwave which it releases which shakes the whole building. Vector would have flown away and crashed into the nearest wall if he didn't place Mana into his legs and strengthened himself to stay at that spot.

After the shockwave settles, Seraphina puts down her firewall. But she noticed a thing and that was that her clothes were melted. Then she looks wide eyed at Kei who was panting heavily as he has used up all of his Mana in creating that Mana imitation and spewing so much Acid to cover it in acid.

Then he falls to the ground and says while panting"That's all I have and you blocked it with ease. I can't continue anymore."

Kei is thinking 'By fighting with her I understood something and that is, that I can only improve myself while fighting a powerful opponent. Early on I couldn't perform these moves perfectly but while I was dueling with her, I could perfectly perform those moves and even improved Unveil the Truth by adding my acidic abilities to it.'

Then he looks up at Seraphina who was walking towards him. She outstretches her and signals him to get off the ground. Kei gratefully accepts her outstretched hand and gets up. "What do you think?" Kei asks in a smug tone. Seraphina didn't give him any answer instead she walked towards Vector and whispered to him.

Kei tries to listen in the conversation by enhancing his senses but Seraphina notices and sends him a cold glare as to say that he shouldn't listen in the conversation.

After a few minutes she walks to the elevator and leaves alone. Vector walks to him and places his hand on the shoulder of Kei and says "You did Great." and Kei is happy to hear that. "But" Vector continues as he squeezes Kei's shoulder tightly "DON'T EVER DO THAT AGAIN!. I was going to handle the situation myself. You can't talk without my permission in front of anyone who is in a higher rank than you, especially the guild leader and remember you CAN'T USE THAT TONE WITH THE GUILD LEADER. DO YOU UNDERSTAND!"

"Ouch!.. Ouch! Yes! Yes you bastard!" Kei shouts back and starts to rub his shoulder when Vector releases his shoulder. "Congratulations Kei Nakamura. Now, you're a member of the Celestial Vanguard guild." Vectors says as he turns around towards the elevator and prepares to leave but stops when Kei says this "As I said, I can't join your guild until my conditions are fulfilled." Vector turns back and glares at him for a second and asks "And what are your conditions?"

Kei then starts "The guild have to give me the permission to enter a dungeon alone." Vector went wide eyed at hearing the condition and sa "That can't be done." Kei gets angry at this and asks "Why not?" and Vector shouts back "WE CANNOT. FIRST THINGS HUNTER'S ASSOCIATION WON'T ALLOW IT. SECOND THING IS THAT YOU WILL BECOME A VALUABLE ASSET TO US IN THE FUTURE SO WE WOULDN'T WANT TO LOSE OUR ASSET!"

Kei understands what Vector is saying and thinks for about a moment and says"Can I get my own team which I can lead then go to the dungeon with them?" Vector strokes his beard for a little time and says "Okay we can manage that and what's your other conditions?" Kei smiles and asks "I wanna duel with you once in every week except when you go to the dungeon of course." Vector laughs at that condition and says "You know that guild leader wasn't even using five percent of her power."

Kei is shocked at hearing it 'Not even five percent. I knew she was strong but never would I have expected that she would be that powerful.' then he looked at Vector and said "You aren't the guild leader anyways and I will soon catch up to you. So don't be so cocky." Vector again laughs at what Kei said and says "You're one funny little kid. Do you know the average time a hunter takes to break through a rank? It is at least 3 years and for each rank it increases so forget about catching up to me."

Kei just mentally smirks and thinks 'You won't see it coming.' and says in an agitated tone "Will you accept the condition or not ?" Vector again laughs at him then says "Okay kid, if you are okay with being beaten to a pulp every week then I will have no objection. Now tell me do you have any conditions left?"

Kei immediately says "This is my last condition. Find me a blacksmith who can repair a weapon for me. The rank of the weapon must be B-rank or it might also be an A-rank weapon. Plus I want that blacksmith to build something for me."

Vector says this to Kei "I won't ask you how you got a high ranked sword so don't get nervous. And if that is your last condition then consider it done. Bring your weapon when you have signed the contract. We will bring you the contract by next week so don't go into any dungeon till that time." then he shakes his hand in front of Kei when he noticed that Kei was going to protest "As said you are an asset for now so you won't go to any dungeon until your team is formed. Now, I suggest you go home."

Kei dejectedly leaves the building and takes a cab back home. 'Now that I have time then I will start my training.'
