12: Overwhelmed

Kei gets up and launches himself to the nearest monster and takes out Yugen which is radiating an extreme amount of Mana. He instantly slices the Eclipsewolfs head off and he didn't even wait for the other monsters to die and collect the Essence in a bunch. Instead, he absorbed all the Essence the moment the Eclipsewolf died. "Agh" Kei gritted his teeth and almost fell to the ground but the Mana he absorbed was like a drug that kept him going. 'If this is the amount of Mana I gain every time I kill a monster, then what amount will the boss monster of the dungeon give me? What amount will the B-rank monsters give me? I can't wait to experience that .'

While Kei was thinking that he was continuously killing Eclipsewolf and the Titanstoned Colossus and collecting their Essences. 'Let's try out captain's move but with me putting Mana in my muscles and strengthening them then maybe I could perfectly or perhaps even enhance the Zephyr's Forsake .' The Mana he put in Yugen was astronomical and Kei thought he could handle it but it created Mana instability and caused it to explode but fortunately enough for Kei. Morphy contained most of the explosion but the energy was so vast that it forced Kei to get flung into a wall.

Kei smashes into the wall and falls to the ground while coughing massive amounts of blood. 'Dammit, I was too careless and too self-engrossed in collecting the Essences that I lost my sense of rational thinking. But I think that is good for me now I know a side effect of collecting so many Essence in so little time. I have to be careful about that from now on.' He saw the Essence floating in the air but he was sure that he had already collected all the Essence from the monsters whom he had killed so he doesn't understand how he can see so many Essence floating around.

'Wait a minute, what if the Essence that are floating are not from the monsters that I killed but from the monsters that were killed by Morphy.' Kei reaches his hand out and tries to collect the Essence and he could do that. 'I didn't knew Morphy had this kind of ability. This means that I can get stronger even without doing anything. I just have to leave all the work to Morphy and collect the Essence.' then Kei remembers something 'No, I can't think of leaving all the work for Morphy because then basically I would be a summoner who would summon monsters and be weak himself and by chance if any day Morphy couldn't defeat an opponent then basically I would have the same as that healer. I can't let that happen to me .'

Then he sees the leftover Essence and gets an idea. 'Zen, can you see the Essence.' Zen hears this and nods 'Great, Now try to collect it yourself.' Zen nods and reaches his hand out to collect the Essence and after a lot of difficulty in taking Mana out of his body, he did it and absorbed the Essence completely. Kei was shocked for a moment and thought 'That was just my impulsive thinking and it was proven to be correct but it was written in the Book of Shadows that anyone could absorb Essence. So I guess I am not that special. Let's leave it at that and think about the possibilities that this thing could create in future.'

'Morphy can now be self-sufficient he wouldn't need any Mana from me after he is ejected from me. He could kill the monsters himself and collect their Essences and they are pretty much immortal because they can regenerate even after being destroyed till the time they have Mana.

Kei gets up from his position and assesses the damage that was done to Yugen. "Tch" 'Yugen almost became useless. It can still be used but I can't use any moves like I usually do. I have to get it repaired, but who could do it? The blacksmith which forged already moved abroad according to the captain's memory.'

Kei keeps Yugen in his bag and makes a Yugen out of Morphy. 'If I study the materials, then maybe I can also forge a sword myself .' Then Kei notices that Morphy Yugen is also in the hands of the Captain and then he thinks of an idea. Morphy seeps out of Kei and he starts to concentrate very much. 'This is very hard but if I can do it then it would be astronomical.' Kei finishes it after a few minutes. In front of Kei was standing another Morphy captain with a Morphy Yugen in his hand but Kei noticed a problem after the second Morphy Captain standing beside the first Morphy Captain.

The second captain's face was a little disfigured and the way it was standing showed that it didn't contain Mana at all this basically meant that it was as strong as a normal human being. Kei sighed and dismissed the second captain 'It is not worth training it. It would take a lot of time to do that. So let's just focus on me. I have to get out of this dungeon.

They moved towards the boss room while killing all the monsters and collecting their Essences. 'If this goes on then after 10-15 C-ranked dungeons later I am pretty sure that I would have gathered enough Mana to break through B-rank. It took me 3 whole years for me to become a C-ranked Hunter but for becoming a B-rank hunter it might as well take me two months at max .'

Kei sees the boss's room and then he checks his army which was pretty much in top shape as they were hunting and collecting the Essences of the monsters.

'Everything is set.' "Let's go and kill the Serpent Maligora."
