Follow Her

Avery Miller, along with Ella Jackson, Sarah Wilson, and Elijah Martinez in the back seat, were all thrown to one side as Derek made a sharp turn, nearly flipping the car. Everyone screamed, closing their eyes, not daring to look.

Just when they thought the car would overturn, their bodies righted themselves, and they slowly opened their eyes to find Derek had steered onto a smooth, stable road. This road had few vehicles but was not the one leading to the airport.

Despite the change in direction, Derek continued to drive fast, turning Avery's face pale with fright.

She steadied herself, fighting the turmoil in her stomach, and asked Derek, "Where are we going?"

Derek didn't answer right away. He slowed down slightly, then relaxed his expression, turned to look at her with his usual gentle and polite tone, and a bright smile emerged on his face, "We can't take a plane anymore, we're switching to water."
