He hasn't had the best life, in fact, some would argue that his life couldn't have been worse, but there's still hope, even for a nihilist. As when an expedition to colonize the moon quickly turns into a disaster, he is swallowed whole by an anomaly and spat out somewhere completely different. Here one can conjure flames with words and summon thunderclouds with a shout, but it's not all fantasia and ecstasy. The world seemed peaceful enough, but as he learns more and more. He realizes everything he sees is a facade, and what's truly underneath is a civilization built on blood and war. In fact, the whole world is in a state of war, fueling the coming of Ragnarök.
Walking towards the abyss, I was unsure when I was supposed to enter the other. I would get a signal though, not from Rico but from my own body. Approaching the edge I peered into the nothingness below, and walking over to the cable, it was as large as a twenty-four laned highway, at least. It was a ways down from the edge though, it looked to be thirty stories down, and I had to make it all the way there on my own.
Taking a deep breath, I stepped off the edge and entered a free fall, looking up I watched the edge get further and further away. All the while my heart rate would increase, and my body would begin to shake as unsavory memories made their way back. I had a solution though, partially transforming, I'd lose my humanity, my vulnerability. I was fine, physically at least.
