Edgar's

Two Edgar's and a girl, sitting in the back of a Starbucks. The girl sitting in the middle, Maria, listening in as the Edgar's Julio and Marcos talk, they're eyes never taken off of each other. Maria's sipping on her coffee, not saying a word, letting her boyfriend Julio and her best friend Marcos catch up over soccer. Her phone rings on the table, the vibration alerting her and the two Edgar's.

Mamá is calling.

"Hola? Si, ya voy."

She has to go, the two boys wish her goodbye as they're grinning through their teeth. They wait till she leaves and turns the corner, they hold each other's hand as they leave toward the carnival. Grasping each other, they ride the Ferris Wheel, as the stars shine, and the moon brings light to their faces. Smiling, they pull each other closer, the intimacy increasing. Julio caresess Marcos' cheek, bring him in for a sweet kiss. Fireworks going off at the tippy top.

They hold hands as they get off, Marcos clutching the soccer ball. Walking off they find a quiet place and kick the ball back and forth, the grass wet and slippery. Julio slips as he tries to guard the ball and ends up falling on Marcos, laughing they give each other a quick peck on the lips.

"Julio!?" A distant screech alerts them.

Looking out for who it was, they were astonished to see Maria standing there, tears in her eyes as she saw them kiss. Her best friend and her boyfriend. Heartbroken she runs off contemplating what had happened.
