Eden: Surviving an Apocalypse World

Edward awoke to silence, yawning while stretching. Due to staying up all night to complete the new game, Elden Ring, he had fallen asleep in his first period. He had told his friend, Leonard, to wake him up when the lecture hall was over, but he must have not done so as the room was quiet, as if everyone had left.

Looking around the lecture hall Edward noticed it wasn't as empty as he thought. Everyone was still there, but they were just silently doing their work. It was strange, as the lecture hall is never this quiet. It was study hall, so he knew there should be at least one clown acting like a fool or the low hum of the air conditioning.

Yet, there wasn't. The lecture hall was in total silence as if the sound had disappeared from the world. The situation was all too strange, causing Edward to bolt up from his seat, his chair moving backward with a loud noise.

The sound of the chair and his breathing confirmed that he hadn't gone deft. Turning to Leonard sitting beside him, Edward realized that they weren't doing their work quietly; they were frozen in place with no movement whatsoever.

Leonardo is a 21 years old Italian man with curly brown hair, brown eyes, and a stubble beard. He was handsome and tall, wearing a silver cross necklace, a blue dress shirt with the top two buttons unbuttoned, exposing his chest, dark gray dress pants, and shiny black dress shoes. Before the time froze, he was charting passionately with the girl sitting on his other side, with the woman covering her mouth in laughter.

She is a beautiful woman in her early twenties with straight, long blond hair tied in a bun. She had pink lips from her lipstick, beautiful eyelashes, and a straight nose. The woman has a voluptuous body, with an ample chest, and wore a white blouse with a knee-length black skirt and black high-heels. She also had gold earrings and one ring.

"What the hell?" Edward let out, looking around the lecture hall one more time. It was an eerie sight to behold. As if time had stopped for everyone but him. "This must be a dream. A very vivid one."

Pinching himself on his left arm, he felt a slight sting. This isn't a dream but a reality. He shook his head and looked around to better understand what was going on. First, he tried to push Leonard off the chair, but he didn't budge. Even after putting all his weight, nothing happened.

'What?' Being unable to push Leonard confused him. After all, the chair had moved before. 'What if...'

A stray thought came to mind as he turned to his chair, trying to move it. Just like Leonard, the chair didn't budge. Realization dawned on him as he removed his left stud black earring, tossing it up in the air. The earing flew for some time before freezing in the air.

"So the only thing touching me during the time freeze could move, but after leaving me for a few seconds, it will freeze like everything else." He hypothesized, staring at the frozen earring. "But why me?" He mumbled, looking around once more.

After thinking for a while, he gave up. Since he had the world to himself, he decided to explore the frozen world. Walking down the aisle, Edward inspected everyone and what they were doing before they were frozen. Some were studying, and others were on their phone or laptop or talking to each other.

The professor wasn't in the lecture hall, so Edward guesses he went out to do something. As he walked down the aisles, his eyes stopped at two girls giggling with each other. The devil immediately whispered inhuman things he could do to them, but Edward quickly shook it off.

'Besides, I couldn't remove their clothes. Even touching them would be like touching a rock.' He thought to himself, feeling disgusted at how his mind immediately went to that when he saw them defenseless. "Jesus. I need help."

Reaching the front of the lecture hall, Edward climbed and stood at the podium. He turned to face the lecture hall, his arm folded as he inspected everyone. The sight was frightening yet intriguing.

Remembering he had his phone in his pocket, Edward immediately reached in his right pocket, pulling it out. The phone sensed motion and turned on to show the time. It was 10:25, five minutes before the sturdy hall was done.

The first thing Edward did was go into the camera and take a beautiful picture of the frozen lecture hall. He then went around the lecture hall while taking five different pictures from different angles of all 97 students. He planned to show the pictures to them when everything returns to normal.

Finishing his work, he took the time to go through each photo, smiling at his works. But he didn't notice that one of his classmates moved ever so slightly in each picture.

"If only I could move things." He mumbled, more devilish thought crossing his mind.

Returning his phone to his pocket, Edward decided to move on. He went towards the lecture hall's door, revealed to see it open. He wondered what would have happened if the door wasn't open. He would have been trapped in this lecture hall for who knows how long and might have died of starvation. He couldn't just jump out the window since the lecture hall was on the fifth floor.

Entering the quiet hallway, Edward went right, which was the closest to the stairs. Walking down the hall, he looked into frozen lecture halls like his. Bringing out his phone, Edward took pictures of each lecture hall he went by.

Soon, he reached the bathroom. Curious at what he would find, Edward entered the male's bathroom. Two men were using the urine, leaving the one in between them open while talking to each other, with another one taking pictures of himself in the mirror while striking up a gang sign.

Not bothering to look into the stalls, Edward left the men and entered the female bathroom. It was empty, with all the stalls door open except the last one. Curious, he entered the open stall beside the closed one, climbing the toilet bowl and looking over.

Inside was a girl sitting on the closed toilet, giving a man a blowjob while she touched herself.

"Wow. The audacity of these two." Edward shook his head, bringing out his phone and taking a picture.

Climbing down the toilet, he began walking towards the door. As he passed the mirror, he stopped to look at his reflection. He was a light-skinned British man turning 21 later this year. He stood 6'2" tall, with a lean muscular build crafted from playing multiple sports, especially soccer, long curly black hair that reached his lower neck, and gray eyes. His beard and mustache were recently shaved and were growing back. All in all, Edward considered himself handsome, and so did others.

He wore a gray turtle neck sweater, the arm folded up to his elbow, a black watch on his left wrist, damen jeans with a black belt, and white sneakers. He once wore one earing, but it was back in the lecture hall, stuck in the air.

*Squelch* *Squelch*

A sound suddenly sounded, shocking Edward and causing him to almost drop his phone. The 20 minutes of total silence had grown on him, and hearing a sound made him think everything has returned to normal.

But upon waiting a while, he noticed no sound was coming from the stall with the female giving the man a blowjob, causing him to put it off as his imagination. He turned back to the mirror and proceeded to fix his hair.

*Squelch* *Squelch*

The sound came once more. 'What the hell?' Edward thought, shuffling towards the open stall where the noise was coming from. Looking inside, he saw nothing, confusing him once more.

Again, the sound came, but this time from the toilet bowl. Slowly moving closer, Edward looked inside the toilet bowl at what could be making those noises.

Before he could see what it was, everything suddenly went black.
