Chris returned home promptly after Mrs. Hale let them go.

"Mom, I'm home", he announced as usual, as soon as he entered the house.

Due to his parents and grandparents (from his father) being Beast Tamers, their living conditions were good, not like how every MC starts his journey in a dilapidated apartment in a poor community, where the apartments have no working elevators.

No, the house is located in a well-off area, where almost every family has active Beast Tamers or a retired one. The community even has guards who patrol 24x7, keeping the locals safe.

The price of living is a bit costly but for the safety of their kids, Chris's family chose this area to live in.

Hearing the sound of Chris, his family who were waiting for him in the hall, turned towards him.

Seeing the smile on the boy's face, they relaxed understanding that he indeed awakened a talent and went to pick his first pet from the Bestiary.

This was something all of them went through, except for the little girl who would go through it next year.

Chris's mom, Mary, rushed and hugged him in happiness and forgot to even ask what talent he awakened.

She was happy that Chris was happy. It would mean that whatever talent he awakened is good and for her, that is good enough. Well, moms are like that.

She hugged him for a little while and let him go.

His father, Thomas, slapped on his back, "Congrats on your awakening. What's your talent?", he asked.

Everyone in the family is eager to learn what he has awakened.

"I have awakened beast fusion, which is C-grade", Chris announced to his family beaming.

Hearing that Chris's grade was C, his family was happy but felt a little bad that he didn't get at least B-grade. The happiness outweighed their sadness, as the talent he awakened was a powerful combat-oriented one.

Also, they know the reality of talent awakening.

Many who awakened belong to E-grade or F-grade and they are not very useful. Sure they would be better than ones who didn't awaken, but not by much.

So having a C-grade means that they can live well off and are powerful enough to protect themselves or loved ones in most cases. Having a B-grade would help Chris but having a C-grade is not bad where even awakening a talent is not guaranteed to happen all the time.

They are happy that he awakened a C-grade talent, and every one of his family congratulated him, especially his younger sister, Lina, who was looking forward to her own awakening next year.

Chris on the other hand, though happy felt bad for hiding his true talent. He understood that this world is not safe, and uniqueness like this second talent would attract unwanted attention.

This would not only affect him but also his family.

Except for his mother, who has a B-grade talent, the others are only C-grade, even his elder sister. Even though his mother is a B-grade talent, she is a healer. So the fighting capabilities are not high.

He can't attract unwanted attention to his family.

Even though he decided to keep silent about his Beast Evolution talent, that doesn't mean he would keep low-key. He knew that every beast has various evolutionary paths, most undiscovered.

Some powerful paths require unique and very rare resources, which are very useful for him as his talent for whatever purpose can't replicate them while helping his beast evolve.

For that, he has to show some talent.

The academies and the alliance love geniuses and would reward them with a lot of rare and expensive resources through various tournaments. There are also occasions where some powerhouse would take them as their disciples.

This would give them access to resources that they can't get on their own.

This could only happen if he shows his strength to the public. So he decided to not hide his strength and show the world what he is capable of, except for one fact about his beast evolution talent.

After talking for a while with his family, they had dinner. Since his mother had an idea that the reason Chris didn't come home early, she prepared a lot of food for the occasion.

That night, everyone had their bellies filled to the maximum extent. Their bellies expanded so much that they had trouble walking back to their rooms and settling for the night.

After going to his room, he muttered to himself, "I didn't have much time to check what beast I contracted in the first place. Let's have a look at it".

With that, Chris concentrated on his beast space where the beast egg went to after contracting.

Chris was surprised to see the details.

Everything was as he expected, except for one fact and that is the species of the beast egg. The egg belonged to Frost Fox, which is not a common beast nor one that is seen in these parts.

The Federal Alliance has 15 provinces and out of these there are only two provinces where the chance of encountering a Frost Fox is possible and that is not in the province that Chris lives in.

In Federal Alliance, the provinces are not given names, rather they are given numbers. The province that Chris lives in is Province 6, while its northern neighbor is Province 14 and that is one of the two provinces where Frost Fox could be seen.

Of course, one might see them if they venture outside of the human-controlled territories.

Chris was surprised as it was very unusual for a Frost Fox to appear in Province 6, much less an egg. Moreover, even though it is rare to find such a beast, what surprised him was that the alliance should have enough data about this beast and should have found what beast the egg belonged to.
