Chapter 16: Summer in Kuoh!

After I saw off my girlfriend, I went to the Mall to meet up with Matsuda and Issei at the arcade.

What, we are still friends. I might be the Red Dragon Emperor but even I need male friends.

Thankfully this mall is indoor and air-conditioned. So the arcade is on the bottom floor, and I head there.

"Motohama over here brother!"

Matsuda yelled while he and Issei are both competing on the classic Dance Dance Revolution, and watching them is really funny.

"Ho Ho, Eat my high score Mat!"

"Nah, I had to call over Motohama, so I got distracted, you would have lost for sure, he-he!"

So before I find a way to escape the monotonous arcade, I play for about an hour.

"Hey Matsuda, and Issei, wanna plan a trip with me?"

The two boys stop eating their hamburgers and ask.

"Motohama, you know I don't have the funds for that, my computer has too many viruses, and I will have to buy a new one, so I am broke now."

"Yeah me too, and I can't even afford a train ticket to anywhere good."

I smile and bring up a picture of Kyoto. Then I tell them.

"A really cool trench-coat man gave me a bunch of money for helping carry his stuff (stolen wallet) and I have enough money for all three of us to take a bullet-train for two days, on me!"

Both of them sat up straight and said!

""Hell yes!""

Then Matsuda asked.

"But why Kyoto? We could go to a beach and scope out some honeys instead and it would be cheaper, right?"

Issei nods in excitement dreaming of bouncing bikinis. But I tell them.

"Our school trip next year will be in Kyoto, so if we see the sights while it's not as busy, we can spend our whole school trip peaking on all the ladies and don't have to run around the city like newbies!"

Matsuda's eyes bulge and he slams his fist down on his palm, and he said. If this story is on any-other site than Scribble Hub, then it was stolen without permission!

"Damn bro, you really take peeking to the extreme to even plan over a year in advance, no wonder that Momo chick likes you, oh how is that going anyway?"

"Ah? Well she made me meet her parents and mine together, so I think we are serious now?"

Issei gives me a look of pity.

"I see it now, you will get married early, knock her up, and work for her family, then you will just be my dad, or yours. Sorry man, but I am going to be the Harem King!"

"Well at least your dad and mine are still getting some, unlike Mat's!"

Issei, thinking of Mat's mom, almost drools and says.

"Yeah, I love Matsuda's mom, he-he."

Matsuda threw some french-fries at us and said.

"Fuck you guys, moms are off the market fuckers!"

So after we were done laughing and joking, it was time to split up and do our own thing. I told them we will go in a couple of weeks after I make bookings.

Then the three of us went our separate ways.

Before I went home, I stopped by the dojo and saw my Teacher Tsubasa, and he had just finished teaching a kids class.

"Hey Ryu, what's up? Did my nagging daughter tell you to check in on me like a child, ha-ha?"

"Yup, she is afraid you might starve to death or something. how are you doing anyway?"

He shrugs his shoulders like he does not care.

"I am fine, and I have one month of peace around the house, now that she went to Europe. I was surprised the student council would get trip tickets from the school, man lucky."

If he knew his daughter was in Hell, what would he really think?

"After class next Saturday, let's go to this really nice steakhouse that I ate at recently. Don't worry I still have plenty of spending cash thanks to my dads new job."

He nervously scratched his chin and said.

"Actually I have a date with a lady I hang out with. Um, don't tell Yura that I have a girlfriend, okay?"

Oh? I get it, he does not want to hurt Yura's heart knowing her mom got replaced, but I think Yura would be happy instead.

"Then we can do lunch on a free afternoon, don't want to get in your alone time, he-he!"

He just sighs and said.

"Yura turned out the way she did because of me, sorry. She only had me growing up, and I don't know anything about how to raise a girl, so she turned out to be a tomboy, instead of being like her charming mother."

I put my hand up to stop his drama and smile.

"Yura is perfect the way she is. She just knows how to survive and fight, but she is still most definitely a woman. So take pride that she has grown up with a good head on her shoulders. Plus she cares for an old man like you, ha-ha!"

He pats my shoulder with a grin and then says to me.

"I honestly don't think my girl is going to find a man good enough for her, so if she is single, and you break up with your girlfriend, can you consider dating my little Yura? Don't answer, just see her as a vulnerable woman in need of a partner. You're a good kid Ryu, and I think you will be a better man. Now beat-feet, this old man has a show taped and I need to watch-it before tonight's class, scram little Rising Dragon!"

Then I got on my bike to make it home early to study. That was my plan anyway.

My smartphone rang with an unknown number, so I answered it.

[Motohama is this you?]

"Ah? You normally only text, so what's up with this unknown number?"

[Payphone. Do you believe in the supernatural? Youkai, Gods, Angels, Devils, and Fallen Angels?]

"Sure and why are you asking?"

[Ever hear of Sacred Gears?]

I hear her sounding more and more depressed the more I answer.

"Yes."

[Do you know about me?]

"From our first meeting, but I don't care."

[Sigh, I was hoping you would not know anything and the news I heard was wrong.]

"Are you going to have to kill me Kala?"

"I don't hold it against you, you know. At least you had the decency to call me, I knew you were not as bad as Raynare."

[What?!]

"Did Azazel give the order? I know the reason for my kill order, but they finally kicked a rock with me."

[You're going to get an invitation from me to come and drink at the Underworld Delights, don't come, it's a trap.]

"Nope, if you call me for a drink I will show, otherwise my parents will get involved. Don't worry I wont kill you Kala."

[You don't seem to understand how strong we Fallen Angels actually are?!]

"If I am strong enough to kill the kill squad, Azazel will stop hunting me. He is only afraid of an Uncontrolled Juggernaut Drive, and I don't blame him. A brat like me with the ability to destroy Japan and expose the supernatural is a big deal. That's why he raised the White One."

[Motohama Ryu, who are you?]

"Your friend and fellow dog lover, The Red Dragon Emperor, or the Red One. Nice to meet you Kalawarna."

[Sigh, I hope you can survive this, so we can stay friends.]

"Are you willing to do one small favor for me? Nothing to betray your group the Grigori or your companions?"

[What?]

"I need a way to hide my actions, no security or spying magic, can you help me block my fight from others, that's all I need from you."

[That is really all you need? If so, then my office is protected so even Azazel cant see my private activities, so if you fight there you will be covered.]

"I promise I won't kill you Kala, good Fallen Angels are hard to find."

I put my phone away and say to my partner.

"Did you get all of that Ddraig?"

[I did. I am with you partner, lets show that old crow he fucked up.]

With a heavy heart, I bike home.

A week passed by and big news from Kuoh hit Grigori. (A/N hold on to your complaints, the action will be in another chapter.)

In a dark office, Azazel is pondering current and strange events that are happening worldwide. Especially the spike in Sacred Gear activity.

Soon he felt there was an incoming call for him so he activated his magic-circle to talk.

[Governor General, there was an unexpected event from the Kuoh, Japan team.]

"The one sent to remove the wielder of the Boosted Gear? What happened, did those fools trigger the Juggernaut Drive like I warned them about?"

[No sir, the target killed the entire team but left one survivor. He then robbed and looted the base and leveled it, he then left a message for us.]

"What message did he leave for us?"

["If you want to mess with the Great House of Gremory then come get him.", That was the note he left around the surviving Fallen Angel.]

"Why did he spare only one Fallen Angel and not kill them?"

[We have a separate note addressed to you, but we did not open it without your permission sir.]

"Address to me? Go ahead and open it and read it to me, then send me any footage we have of the fight."

[Yes sir, um, the note says "I did not kill this Fallen Angel because she is hot. Well don't punish her, she actually did try to stop me, but I sneak attacked them. Anyway, stop hunting me for a while so I can give Vali a good fight. Give me one year. Then I will smack Vali around till he is happy, but I won't kill him. Anyway, I like Kalawarna, so be nice to her. If I find out you wronged her, I will definitely side with Hades to kill you guys, but I would rather be friends with you." and that was it.]

"Did anyone else hear what you read to me?"

[No sir, I put a barrier up first.]

"Destroy that letter and never speak of its contents again, this is only between you and me. Got it?"

[Understood Governor, and what about Kalawarna?]

"Tell her to rebuild the base, and send me a report. Tell her to watch the target but do not engage. That's it."

[Understood. Click.]

The magic-circle ended and Azazel downs his alcohol and now his mind was rapidly trying to piece the mess together.

"Did Ddraig tell him about Hades? No, that's not right. Does this kid know what that skeleton is planning? One year, huh? Okay kid, I am interested now, let's see what you are planning, he-he. Vali you definitely guessed wrongly here. Hm, I need to find out more about Kalawarna, she definitely did not get saved for her looks. Well, unless he is a pervert."

Azazel had a truly villainous look on his face, feeling his blood pump in anticipation.
