DxD: Mechanic's Scrapyard

A street rat with an uncanny affinity for machines reincarnates into a world he, now she, has no knowledge of. Being a child again in the wrong gender at that was a bit weird, but that was nothing compared to finding out what sort of beings she was now living amongst. She shrugged her shoulders "Well as long as they don't mess with my scrapyard." --- Author Note: Just a disclaimer for those who don't like OP MC's, she will be pretty OP and I don't really like situations where stories forces the MC to go against someone they literally have no chance of winning against. For those curious about Romance? I don't know, pretty much nothing is planned, however if I do decide to try, the love interest will also be female. The Cover picture is Jona from Alchemy Stars.

Chapter 3 - Getting Settled In

After a while of... calmly gushing over my new power, I decided it was time to look for my new base. Although I don't know if there are any dangers in this world, having a place to return to would be nice.

Looking over the city again there really wasn't anything special about it other than the infrastructure looking much neater than what I was used to, but not to the point of it looking otherworldly. The few things that stood out from where I was, was an abandoned church and a pretty huge building with gates around it that looked sort of important. I didn't really see anything that would fit my requirements until I went up on a rock for a wider point of view and then I saw it, the perfect place. A few kilometers out from the city was a huge compound, piles upon piles of scrap metal just laying there likely begging to be used for awesomeness, I could feel my feet starting to tap and my fingers twitch in restlessness.

Before I knew it, I was booking it along the edge of the city to my new base. Just a few moments into my run I felt like something was different, like, I knew I ran fast but this was a bit much. Keeping my current pace and feeling the wind blowing into me sort of reminded me of the time I hid atop a bus in motion, I'd say I was probably going fast enough to keep up with a car. Blinking in slight incomprehension I felt that I was barely even exerting myself, even now I felt as if I could go faster.

So I did.

---

Okay, so...

If I left a few, oh I don't know, uh... footprints along the road, could I get arrested? I mean, I'm not big on laws and stuff but that seems like it could be a crime, though I dont know on what charges I'd get arrested for, maybe I'd just created an entirely new one? That'd be kinda cool. Anyway, it didn't take me long to arrive at my destination, slowing down as I was closing in, I took a closer look at my future base.

A road of compact dirt through the forest leading up to a gate which hid a massive lot.

The first thing that was a bit odd was how high the fence was, but looking through the chain link gate, I could see why.

Calling the amount of things stored in the compound enormous would be an understatement. There were literal piles upon piles upon piles of scrap and other junk. Just from here I could see multiple cars, dishwashers, washing machines, refrigerators and so on just laying around, but there were also some odd things scattered in there. I think I see a few totalled pistols and is that-

Squinting my eyes I think I see a lightsaber or something though it's slightly bent out of shape, there's also alot of rubble and concrete chucked here and there, like, alot. Did they renovate the whole city or something? Now that I think about it, there's no way a city that size could produce this amount of junk in a reasonable timeframe. Maybe this compound was alot older than the city itself? Seeing the amount of things here I would guess so.

Anyway time for my plan to assert my dominance and show everyone else that may have been eyeing this lot that this was now mine, starting with getting in.

---

Having looked around for a bit, there wasn't any obvious holes I could squeeze into closeby so I'm going with the first plan I could think of.

Walking up to the chain link gate, I inspected it a bit closer. It was around 3 meters high and kind of rectangle-ish in shape, nothing special really. So I reached out, opened it, stepped inside and closed it again.

Mission accomplished.

Now the second phase of my plan can begin which requires a bit of tinkering. While walking further inside I occasionally grab the odd piece scrap and junk before stuffing it into one of my many pockets, mental blueprints start appearing in my head as I focus on what I want to do.

Hmm~, nope too clunky.

Too weird.

Just don't want that one.

Why would it even need to be able to slice cheese?

Aha! Found the one.

Now then, let's begin~

---

A few minutes later and it was done.

Looking down in my hands I see my first creation in this world. It looks sort of like a bulky handgun with a three-pronged claw hand on the front of it. On the side there's a lever I took from an old car and modified, it's a mix of colors since it's literally made of junk. There's a few lines that runs through it's exterior that glows blue though, so that's cool. As for what it can do? This baby can mark a spot and when a spot is marked, anything I shoot teleports to that spot within a certain area, it can also lift objects, reinforce a small area when shot, repulse objects and shoot lasers! ...The lasers don't really do much but it's still cool...

It looks a bit wonky and crooked though since I didn't really have any tools... It still works though! I promise!

The sky was now dark which would help cover me nicely, now I just need to find a spot.

After walking around for a few minutes and scouting out possible bases I had a thought, why not have multiple bases? Though that's for later, for now I chose a pretty sizeable pile of junk that had an old pipe I could fit inside leading further into it. Using the lever on my gun I shot my mark at a distant pile and went inside the pipe.

A few minutes of spamming with the teleport and reinforcement modes later and I had a fairly squarish space a few meters large to play around with, I also made a quick cover to block the entrance of my new home. Sitting down in an indent in the metal that I made I fell in thought for a bit, although I don't know if getting dimensionally displaced messes with your sleep schedule I don't really feel tired at all yet, and although it's dark out I still have something to do.

Getting up, I stretch a bit before imagining the world around me falling apart in a light show of blue pixels, just a few seconds later I found myself standing in a completely white space. After looking around for a bit I imagine myself in my old workshop and the surroundings gradually changed. The ground beneath me slowly turned into compact dirt while a few tables popped up here and there in an 'L' shape with various tools laying on top and lastly a few piles of scrap emerged in the surroundings. All in all it looked like a scrapyard.

It was perfect!

Just a disclaimer: My whole process is writing, editing a bit while doing so, reading through it once I'm done, then posting the chapter. After that I read it on my phone and if I spot anything I want to change I do so, that's why if you're really early some things may change.

P.S Does anyone know how to get italics to work?
