"What just happened" Issei said in disbelief as he sat on his bed. This was too bizarre even for him.

Downstairs, a frustrated Karlamine reached for her armor prepared to leave the house right there and then, "Come on Karlamine you can't be that mad can you." Xuelan questioned.

Karlamine paused but took a deep breath before turning to face her old teammate, "I'm just confused is all Xuelan. This whole mess makes no sense to me" Karlamine frowned.

"I agree and to be honest all three of us are just pawns in a game between Lord Riser and Lady Rias." Xuelan chuckled.

"Three? How is Issei a pawn" Karlamine said in confusion.

"He clearly intervened during the meeting at Rias's request. However it's also clear that Issei has no loyalty to Rias or he wouldn't have made her jump through all these hoops. Honestly he's just an innocent bystander in all of this."

"You think so" Karlamine wondered.

The more she thought about it, Xuelan was right. If Issei was really working for Rias, they wouldn't be in this mess at all.

Maybe he was just trying to take advantage of an opportunity.
