Difference in Weapons

The lone goblin that suddenly regained its strength, or maybe even increased it considering the amount of mana that Kalle felt radiating from it, finally made its first move.

The distance between it and Kalle was more than a few meters away.

But the lone goblin didn't hesitate at all when it threw its one remaining bone axe toward the human standing in front of it.

Kalle felt the mana radiating from the thrown weapon and it was at least twice as much as the amount that he felt before.

Kalle didn't know what kind of skill the goblin used, but it seemed to be strengthening everything, not excluding the lone goblin's other skill.

Fortunately though, Kalle still didn't have to do much even with the bone axe having much more mana enchanting it.

Knowing how powerful his own blow was, Kalle didn't shy away from meeting the attack head-on and swatted away the bone axe.

The twofold enhancement on the bone axe seemed to have made a significant change in the status quo as the bone axe now could withstand a blow from Kalle's silver staff.

The bone axe that used to easily crumble with a simple swing now could go against the silver staff without breaking.

But still, the power of the silver staff and Kalle's basic body enhancement on his hands were just too much.

The bone axe was able to keep itself intact now, but it was swatted away easily as the power behind the throw was meager compared to the force that Kalle was able to generate with his basic body enhancement skill.

However, the lone goblin didn't back down at all.

Instead of running away or trying to save itself after throwing its one remaining weapon, the lone goblin charged straight toward Kalle.

Using its claw-like bare hands, the goblins raised them as it moved twice as fast as before with its unknown skill.

Kalle thought that the lone goblin was suicidal and he planned to end the fight early.

However, just a few moments before the two of them clashed for the second time, Kalle once again felt an influx of mana.

This time, it came from the goblin's hand and an external object somewhere to his side.

Although Kalle could sense it, the lone goblin's skill activated right away before Kalle could make any guesses about what it tried to do.

The bone axe that it had thrown earlier suddenly floated up on its own and was pulled back to the goblin's hand.

It returned to its owner's hand just in time before Kalle and the goblin clashed again.

Different from before when the bone axe couldn't handle the force that traveled within its body, now the two weapons came to a complete standstill.

The silver staff with Kalle's enchanted hands against the bone axe with the double enchant weapon and the unknown skill.

None of the two were sent flying as their strength was almost equal.

Almost.

Different from the goblin that gathered mana to enhance his whole body, Kalle's basic body enhancement skill only focused on one body part.

And it was currently strengthening Kalle's hands.

On top of that, the lone goblin wasn't the only one who could use the enchant weapon skill.

With his contract with the three goblins, Kalle also got the ability to use the enchant weapon skill.

He never used it so far because he didn't find the need to.

But after seeing an enemy that was draped with an excessive amount of mana that essentially came back from a half-dying state, it would only be foolish for him to not use it.

Before he clashed with the lone goblin for the second time, Kalle activated the enchant weapon skill on top of his basic body enhancement to make sure he dished out the strongest attack he could muster.

And his decision paid off.

Although he couldn't send the lone goblin flying away again, he still won the clash as the lone goblin couldn't hold the standstill for long.

Its body began to tremble under Kalle's and the silver staff's might.

The lone goblin decided before it lost its balance, it broke the weapon lock and repositioned itself.

However, Kalle learned from his enemy and remembered how the lone goblin had taken advantage of every decision his goblins had made while fighting it.

So he did the same.

Not giving the lone goblin even a split second to react, Kalle followed the goblin close and dashed forward the second it broke away from him.

The lone goblin was caught off guard by Kalle's sudden aggression, but it was able to somehow manage.

Kalle was only using brute force and replicating the lone goblin's strategy to sidestep before going in again for the attack.

The lone goblin had more techniques and battle experience that it could always mitigate as much damage as possible from Kalle's attack.

The goblin could even put Kalle into a defensive position despite his superior raw strength.

Kalle realized this as he kept on pressing the goblin.

He could move a lot and he got a considerable amount of stamina considering his day job.

However, he knew he couldn't keep going at the current intensity to eventually wait for the lone goblin to make a mistake.

So he needed to quickly find a way to end the fight before he ran out of mana again or was too exhausted to continue.

With some observation of the goblin's tendency and remembering one of the weaknesses that he knew of, Kalle quickly executed his plan.

Instead of trying to hit the goblin with the intent of killing it by smashing its head or incapacitating it by breaking its limb, Kalle took a different approach.

Instead of trying to land his attack, Kalle tried to attack with as much power as he could muster.

Of course, with his prior attacks being considerably sneakier and less rough, the goblin was able to manage his current attacks with more ease.

Kalles' attack became simpler because of his intention to dish out as much power as possible.

As a result, the goblin was able to block or parry Kalle's attack with its own weapon almost every time Kalle swung his weapon.

And due to that, Kalle was even forced to play defensive as he couldn't manage to ever get hit by the goblin's attacks.

There were a couple of close calls, but fortunately, Kalle only got a few slashes on his body.

With the adrenaline coursing through his veins, the pain was barely felt as Kalle continued swinging his weapon as hard as he could.

Kalle didn't get discouraged one bit when he saw this.

Instead, he forced himself to withhold the smile that almost formed on his lips.

The scene where Kalle's silver staff hit the bone axe repeatedly over and over again before it finally happened.

The silver staff was made out of an unknown material that Kalle didn't know of.

But one thing he knew was that the silver staff came from a very powerful entity that could even stop time and gave him the power to make contracts with the monsters.

This means that the silver staff was most likely made with anything but ordinary materials.

Compared to it, the bone ax, as the name suggests, was made out of a simple bone.

Even with the enchant weapon skill that was twice as strong, the bone axe eventually couldn't stand the force that was put through it.

The cracks that were there before expanded and multiplied before it finally broke apart, just like the first bone axe.

On the other hand, not a single dent was found on Kalle's silver staff.

And it would continue to be that way even if Kalle used it to smash through the lone goblin's skull.
