Earth Shield

To cast a spell, the first step is to perceive elemental energies. Afterwards you make the energies do work.

Unless you are already trained, it will be near impossible to feel elemental energies in the air. This book recommends for beginners to practice in a rich energy environment.

Next, sit still and focus on your breath. Slowly but surely, the tension would ease up. Once completed, you will start to visualize the earth elements surging around you. Feel the energy, the calmer your soul, the easier to perceive.

Note: Beginners may only feel a slight tingling sensation on their body.

Ensure that the energies particles is stable, hard and solid. A characteristic of earth elemental and NOT ANY OTHER ELEMENTALS.

We will be starting with the simplest earth spell, "earth shield". You will start to visualize the elemental energy bonding together into a shield, a circle or a square. Any shape you like to fit your situation.

Lastly, visualize convert a huge portion of the energy into solid form, leaving a small portion in a pure energy form.

Earth elemental in a pure energy form is easier to guide and warp, leaving a portion behind acts as a bond between the mind and the solid elemental energy.

Jonnathan followed the instructions....

His mind calms down and his tension releases, putting him in peaceful state. No longer does is mind wandering around, now sharp and focus on the next task.

With the help of the shiny crystals, he effortlessly felt the elemental energies presence, then he visualized the particles into a shape of shield.

The particles gradually flow into position next, converting it into solids.

A fist size glass-like crystal ball with floats in front of him, reflecting rays of light to whoever sees it.

Then....the rough crystal ball explodes! Sending the shiny particles straight into his face!

Jonnathan wipes off the fine dust on his face. His body trembles intensely, not from exhaustion, but from excitement. He couldn't help but form a wide smile with a crescent-shape eyes. Temporary casting the worry away, alleviating his furrowed brow.

Jonnathan attempts the earth spell again, this time forming a crystal block similar to a shield, before it starts exploding in face.

On the third try, he forms a thin crystal shield with greater ease, sustaining it for short while....

A crystal shield levitates in front of him, like a painting hanging on the wall.

Holding a spear in hand, striking the floating shield numerous times!

"Ting! Ting! Ting! Ting! Ting!"

It flies backwards, controlling the shield, it slowly drifts back into position.

Deep pin size holes have appeared all across the crystal shield.

Considering his strength outmatched a bronze knight, the shield is relatively strong.

Good!

He only spent an hour or so mastering a practical skill. Though, this area appears safe, he will eventually starve to death if he stays for long. As such, he decides to rest first before learning another practical earth spell then move on.

Johnathan releases control over the crystal shield, it falls onto the ground, dust particle scattering everywhere!

The gem crystal in his shirt have shrunk considerably.
