Nevertheless, in the midst of despair, he encounters a skill tree that only he can use, and Makoto Akaya's life begins to change for the better.

The stadium was alive with the heat and roar of excitement as the final event of the day, the relay race, was about to begin. Borrowed Item Races had a way of bringing everyone together. It wasn't just about the individuals running, but about the whole class, the whole guild, and the entire group of students becoming one. I could feel it. I was part of that unity, swept up in the energy of the moment.
