After all, I'd experienced the traps of social life during elementary and middle school, and my heart bore the scars to prove it. I wouldn't make the same mistake twice.

"And one more announcement. Mr. Hanyu, who was teaching Defense Against Unnatural Attacks, will no longer be with us due to personal reasons," Mr. Osmond said.

A murmur spread through the class. It seemed most of them were hearing this for the first time.

"Why is he leaving?" someone asked.

"He was only temporarily taking over the class. From now on, the original instructor will be back," Mr. Osmond explained.
