Doubt

Ryan fell asleep in John's room, the two men sitting opposite each other. Ryan could have beaten John for the umpteenth time, but he didn't. He had beaten the man long enough, even Jenna had witnessed the other side of Ryan that she had not wanted to show all this time. Especially in front of Jenna.

"Why don't you just tell me you love my wife?" said Ryan, sarcastically. "Why lower ourselves like this? You and I. We both lose if this news gets out."

"If you hadn't been a fool to beat me up in public, this news probably wouldn't have spread. Did you come just to teach me a lesson? Then why are you here now as if we were friends?" John hissed, compressing his cheekbones that were bruised from Ryan's punch.

They are friends, right? It's just that there are many misunderstandings and other things that make their friendship seem meaningless.
