"Ella!" the prince said, and he tried tapping on her shoulder to wake her up. But she only shrugged his hand off unconsciously.

She was actually snoring some minutes ago, and now she was being childish while she was sleeping.

He wanted to wake her up now that they just passed the border so that she would be very well conscious by the time they reach the Wevahx Empire.

'I never thought a human princess would be like this, sleeping so long like this.' he thought.

He decided to leave her to have more rest until they reach the gates to the empire, but she stirred in his embrace shifting from one position to the other.

Some hours ago, she almost fell down from where she laid down while sleeping but he adjusted her position to a more comfortable one but the carriage stepped on the rough patches on the road and he bumped his head on the wall, he cursed within. He had to make her lay down and rest her head on his chest to prevent her from falling again.

Now that she was shifting on him as if he was her personal bed, he couldn't regret what he did since he did it to help her from falling.

Since she wasn't waking up now, he also decided to take a nap since it would take a few more hours to reach the empire now that they've passed the gates. Now that he has a true responsibility which was this mate of his, he must protect her at all cost.

He was a bit happy that she wasn't as scared as he thought she would be, and she was willing to be his, forever. But they had to be in good terms with each other, she had to be at his side always. He has so many enemies that always wished that his head was on a plate, and now if they get to know that he has a mate. They would see her as his weak point which he didn't want.

He must protect her at all cost, not because it was part off the deal with the humans, but because she was now his mate even though she isn't his full mate yet.

At least he would have a peace of mind now that the humans and the vampires were willing to come together against the witches that wants to either end the races or let the Vampires, Werewolves and the humans be at their advantage for their unknown mission.

He swallowed when he heard her steady heartbeat, her long mahogany hair smelled like peaches. Right, she is a human and he must learn to control his hunger for blood when she was around him. He didn't want her to end up as his meal, but he found it hard to ignore her scent. He would make sure she wears thick clothes to prevent other vampires from inhaling her scent even when she isn't bleeding. But she as to know the kind of person he is and he as to the kind of person she is.

He closed eyes and drifted to sleep.

When Dani opened her eyes, she heard the chirping sounds of crickets. She blinked groggily and a second later she realized she was lying in someone's embrace.

She twisted and glanced up to see who it was. Aidan, was what came to her mind.

She frowned and quickly pushed herself up from his embrace when she realized that he was he was also sleeping.

"Don't tell me you don't like me embracing you, no?" He said when he opened his eyes, startling Dani.

"You..., without my permission?" She said when she sat in front of him, she saw deep lines form on his smooth forehead but she ignored it.

"Permission?, you almost fell down while you were busy snoring while sleeping" He said to her.

"Snoring!?, I didn't... I don't snore. Why would I snore" she pouted and he chuckled silently.

"You did, Ella." He said firmly to her, and she frowned.

'Oh my gosh, did I really snore.' Dani said to herself.

She saw his hands making it's way to her head so she drifted backwards.

"What?" She asked.

"Your hair is messed up" he said and dropped his hand. Dani quickly checked herself in the small mirror located at the wall of the carriage and her eyes widened at what she saw.

She actually looked like a bird's nest was placed on her head

"Don't worry, you look beautiful to me in any way. And don't question my healthy actions" he said and her face went pale, she was actually trying not to let her face go red.

"I know what you are thinking. Don't worry, the wedding won't be consummated until you are willing. It's both the vampires and the werewolves traditions. We don't do things by force, only if it is necessary" He explained to her.
