When Jacob heard the System's notifications, he felt relieved to hear the System's robotic voice again.

However, another side of himself was worried due to the message. After all, one of the passive magic skills from his Annihilation affinity was activated out of nowhere.

He possessed two passive magical abilities: one that allowed him to shape pure mana and another that increased his strength based on the number of enemies nearby.

It was as clear as the day that the passive magic skill that had been activated was the latter.

Following the System's message, Jacob reasoned that the cave might be owned by a beast, who had become enraged upon seeing them in its domain.

Nonetheless, Jacob could not see any sign of an enemy in the cave. He also did not understand much about how his passive magic skill worked.

Perhaps, a single enemy strengthened him by only one percent. it would match to the initial System's alert.

However, given that the System sent him two alerts, the second of which stated that his stats had increased by two percent, there had to be at least two enemies.

Although he was not sure if a stronger opponent gave him a bigger boost in stats. If the magic ignored the enemy's strength, he might have to deal with three foes.

As Jacob was thinking along these lines, the cave's walls began to tremble, as if they were in the middle of an earthquake.

"Kyaaaaaaaaa!" Sonu yelled as she rolled onto her side on the ground and curled up in a fetal position. Her entire complexion was paler than usual.

Jacob was not as terrified as his younger sister, but he was still taken aback. He assumed a combat stance, leaving some space between his flexed four legs and keeping his head low.

He had no idea if the enemies he had detected earlier would attempt to collapse the cave in order to kill them.

Although this seemed unlikely given that the cave was most likely their home.

Fortunately, even if their supposed enemies were trying to collapse the cave, the walls of the cave were made of stone.

The cave was safe enough to not collapse by a minor quake. Although Jacob and Sonu were unaware of it, otherwise they would not be so worried.

The beast who made the cave was a smart one. It had only removed the soft rock and dirt while digging the hole, and had purposely left behind the hard rock to act as a barrier against landslides.

"BOOOOM." Suddenly, a high pitched explosion sounded, and Jacob was forced to close his eyes in order to deal with the damage the sound waves were causing to his brain.

When Jacob reopened his eyes, he realized that the earthquake had stopped.

The cave was filled with haze caused by dust dispersed in the air, making him unable to see anything around him.

He became concerned about his sister and focused his attention on where she had been the last time he saw her, or at least where he remembered her to be.

However, no matter how he tried, he was unable to see his sister due to the poor visibility. Jacob tried to raise his body to get a better view, but all he could see was the brown color of the dust.

Not being able to see anything, he became afraid that something had happened to Sonu. He thought that perhaps the reason he could not see her was not due to the dust in the air.

It was possible Sonu was not there anymore. Hence, he rushed to her position, passing through a dense brown smoke formed by the dust from the walls, only to find out that he was right.

When the cave began to shake, Sonu had taken a fetal position on the ground. Jacob remembered where it was, but Sonu was no longer there.

In fact, he could not figure out where she was. As his hearing had been damaged by the explosion, he did not know if she had run away.

After all, if his hearing had been fine as usual, he would have heard what his sister did after the explosion, and he also would not have spent so much time recovering himself.

"Sonu! Where are you?!" Jacob had not tried to call her before because he was aware that she might be too afraid to be able to hear his voice.

When someone is afraid, they are unable to reason, and in extreme cases, such as a car- such as a dragon crash, it was normal for the person to be in a near unconscious state.

They were fully awake, but their brain needed more time to process the information. It was also common to be unable to hear properly for some time after a loud explosion.

"Sonu! If you hear my voice, please, say something!"

However, Jacob still tried to call her. After all, Sonu was not where he had last seen her, and the explosion would have undoubtedly made her panic.

At this point, he had an idea. 'Why do you not use your wings to clear out the haze?' The idea came to him in the form of a manly voice inside his head.

'How did I not think of this before?! How could I have been so stupid?!' He mentally facepalmed himself, grateful for his Macho System for providing him with this insight.

After all, since he evolved into a young dragon, aside from getting a larger size and a magic affinity, he also gained wings, albeit small ones.

Jacob, on the other hand, knew the reason he had not thought of this before. He may be a dragon now, but he used to be a human, and humans did not have wings.

The Macho System had no way of knowing, or perhaps it did, now that he thought about it. After all, the System was aware of his thoughts.

It was not unreasonable for his manly System to be aware of his reincarnation. Jacob made a mental note to ask this question in the future.
